Is it possible to transfer my downloaded QuickTime Pro software from my old computer to my new computer?

Is it possibile to transfer my downloaded QuickTime Pro software from my old computer to my new computer?  I don't want to buy it again if I can help it.

Open the QuickTime Player 7 app and look under the Edit menu / Preferences / Registration window to copy down the name, org and number.
Install the free player on the new machine and enter the registration info and test. If everything works as it should erase the registration info on the old machine.

Unless you transfer the files from Setup Assistant, Migration Assistant creates a new user with the data.
To transfer the files to your first user, you have to log on this new user, and copy all your files to /Users/Shard folder. This is a folder where you can put the files you want to share between two or more users, and all users can read and write in it.
After copying the files, go to your first user, open /Users/Shared folder, and copy the files to your user folders. If you migrated applications, you must know that they are stored in a common folder (/Applications), so you don't have to transfer them. To open /Users/Shared folder, open Go menu (in the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type the folder

  • HT5824 How do I download all my apps from my old iPhone onto a new iPhone?

How do I download all my apps from my old iPhone onto a new iPhone?

    Hi pijidak,
You can either sync the new phone directly to iTunes on the computer you sync with, or you can click on the App Store icon on your new iPhone. Then click on Updates, and then on Purchased. You will see the list of all apps you have purchased via iTunes with a little cloud next to them. You can selectively download whichever ones you wish as long as you have a Wifi connection.

  • HT1296 I would like to transfer my music library, including playlists, from my old iphone to my new one.  But  I can't figure out how!

I would like to transfer my music library, including playlists, from my old iphone to my new iphone.

Connect the new phone to the computer and iTunes, then sync your library. I'm guessing that you have been syncing the old phone in the past, which would keep your library updated.

  • I have an iPod that has music from CD's that I no longer have. The iPod was synced to an old computer that crashed. My current iPhone and my old iPod share an itune's account. Is there a way I can transfer my music from my old iPod to my new computer?

I have an old iPod touch with songs from CD's I no longer have (so they weren't purchased on iTunes). The computer that the songs were synced on crashed a while ago. Is there a way I can sync my old iPod to my new computer and retrieve those songs to get them on my new iPhone? They share an Apple ID and iTuens account.

    Most Windows users don't.
Purchase an external hard drive and use the backup software that comes with it to backup files from your computer.
Buy TouchCopy and install it on your new computer, connect your old iPod and transfer your songs to your computer.

  • How to I transfer my software from my old pc to my new pc without downloading it again

I have been using a temporary desktop computer while my laptop was unavailable... however I have my laptop back now, and have pulled the drive from the desktop to import my files into my laptop... I had to download all of my CC software (All 27 programs) while at a friends house because I have very limited bandwidth at home... The drive I pulled has all of my software on it... is there any way I can copy my downloaded software from the drive to my laptop without having to go through the long process of redownloading the software again? I have very limited bandwidth, and will have to make a trip to my friends house to do this again... while this is possible, considering that cc software must be validated by my account when it runs, I thought there may be a way to transfer the software without having to go through all of the download process again....
Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Rob Long

    Rajshree,
That sounds great... but the question is where are the installer files located? Do I just copy the "C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Adobe" directory over or what? With the Creative Cloud membership, there are no standard downloads ...everything is downloaded, installed and updated through the Creative Cloud Manager software now.... I have actually converted my entire harddrive from the other PC into an external USB hard drive... I just need to know what to copy over ...  I am a programmer, and I know that there are typically several locations with information about "Cloud" based software... but what main folder needs to be copied over to prevend having to re-acquire the "payload" , or the installlers as it were?
    thanks,

  • How can I download my iTunes library from my old Mac to my new iPhone 5 without being able to use iMatch. iMatch is not compatible with my old Mac that runs on 10.5.1

Just got an iPhone 5, and learned that the 100 or more CDs that I had uploaded to iTunes on my older Mac cannot be downloaded to my new phone using iCloud/iMatch. I match is not compatible with the older operating systems. I spoke to a Apple genius, and he said that there is software out there that will do the job. Is anyone familiar with any of these? Frustrated, and need help.

I regret to say that you need a new computer. That G5, as good as it still is, simply cannot run the required software to be used with the latest iPhones and other software.

  • I want to buy a new 27in iMac and I want to transfer all my photo and music from my old iMac to the new one.  Is this possible?

I am going to purchse a new 27in iMac. I have a 21 inch single core intel chip iMac purchased in 2006.  I want to transfer my music from iTunes (3600 songs) and my photos from iPhoto (28000).  Can this be done without using an external hard drive? I backed up all my songs from iTunes but I have yet to understand how they show up on the hard drive. Before you all criticize me, I am a 72 year old lady who is limited in my ability to understand technical data but have been able to use a computer for some time now.

  • I need to transfer my music from an old iPod to a new computer

I have a 9 yo iPod that has not had access to a computer for over 4 years. The iPod still works fine.
I'm getting a new mini mac and would lilke to set up an iTunes account on it and have my music and other files.
How do I transfer items? or is it even possible.
    Thanks

Which iPod model is it?  Does it connect with USB?  If it needs FireWire (3rd gen iPod or older), the current Mac mini still has FireWire, but it is FireWire 800 (9-pin) so you will need an adapter to convert it to the old FireWire 400 (6-pin).
Once the iPod connects to the Mac, you cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your new Mac, you can add them to the iTunes library.

  • What's the easiest way to transfer all my pictures and music from my old PC to my new Mac?

I just recently got a Mac and wanted to know the easiest way to transfer my pictures and music from my PC to my Mac.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
The best and easiest way is by using Windows Migration Assistant. Apart from that, this app allows you to transfer other things, that you can check in this page > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4796 You have also the steps to transfer your data to your Mac in that page.
If you don't want to use it, just copy your music and pictures to an external drive and transfer them to the Mac

Is there a way to upload those photographs to ITUNES and have them stored on my computer.  Or if I synch, will all those photos vaporize because they are not on my computer.

  • How do I transfer my i photo '08 contents from my old imac to a new imac?

I would like to know how i can move all the contents of my i photo '08 from my old imac to a new imac. I am worried about the photo's in the web gallery. I would like to keep them and carry them over to the new imac since the old mac will be used by someone else and i would probably need to vacate the pictures on file there. Same goes for the itunes.
    Hope someone can help here.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Use Migration Assistant on the new Mac to move your User Account over. This will move iPhoto, Itunes libraries and your personal settings - including your .Mac/MobileMe settings.

  • I didn't back up my old computer. I have my oild hard drive in an enclosure and wish to transfer my bookmarks from my old firefox to my new computer's firefox..please help

I have located the file containing my bookmarks on my old hard drive. How do I move the places. file to my new browser..thank you

In your file manager (by default that will be Windows Explorer), right-click on the places.sqlite file in the old hard drive and choose Copy.
Go to the [[profiles|profile folder]] on the new drive, right-click and choose Paste. You should get a dialog box saying the file already exists, choose the option to replace the file. Firefox must not be running when you do this.
