Is it possible to transport data form one class to another?

i mean like there are statics inside a class that i can use in any function so is something like this possible with classes, if yes then how can i do that?

Yes, I do understand.
The first thing to do is to declare what are called accessor methods in you ClassOne, something like this;
public ClassOne {
   private String variableOne = "A simple demo";
   public ClassOne() {
      // Just display a message for now so you know it has been instantiated.
      // In real life, you would use the constuctor to establish the initial
      // state of the object
      System.out.println("ClassOne instantiated.");
   // This is the accessor method. It simply returns the current value of the
   // variable called variableOne. You do not need to use the this prefix, I
   // only did that to make it clear it was returning the state of the
   // instance variable.
   public String getVariableOne() {
      return(this.variableOne);
}Next, lets define ClassTwo to show you how to access the state of a variable in an instance of ClassOne;
public ClassTwo {
   // This is the constuctor for ClassTwo. See that it accepts a single
   // parameter of typr ClassOne. It is possible to call a method on the
   // ClassOne instabce, in this case, it calls getVariableOne() and you
   // should see that it prints out the message 'A simple demo' which was
   // the String we stored into the private instance varibale in ClassOne.
   // Of course, you could store the reference to a variable defined within
   // this class and use it whenever and wherever you wanted to.
   public ClassTwo(ClassOne classOneInst) {
      System.out.println(classOneInst.getVariableOne());
}You need to hook to two instances together something like this;
public class Demo {
   public static void main(String[] args) {
      // Instantiate ClassOne - should see the message to confirm creation
      ClassOne cOneInst = new ClassOne();
      // Instantiate ClassTwo and pass the refernec to the ClassOne
      // instance. Should see it rpint out the contents of ClassOne's single
      // instance variable.
      ClassTwo cTwoInst = new ClassTwo(cOneInst);
}Just as a PS, it is good practice to protect the state of the class by declaring varaibles with the private modifier and exposing only those - using accessor/mutator methods - you really want to client programmer to have access to. This is not a hard and fast rule - Sun do not always protect the classes state in this manner - but it is a wise precaution IMO.

    Regards,

    hmmm, CTS = cutomizing transport?
    If you have a customizing table, there are still two possibilities.
    1. customize in DEV system and transport
    2. customize right there where you need it.
    this depends on how the maintainance view is built. If it is a simple customizing table and you get not asked for a TR when customizing a new record or changing an existing one, you hit possibility 2.

    Hi Hardeep,
    Looks like the transformation and DTP need to be activated again.
    The error is RSBK (299) - 'Invalid program status'. So please activate the transformation and DTP possibly activate the DSO's too.
    It should then work.
    Thanks

  • How to transport data from one tab to another(mapinfo)?

    Hello all,
    due to a change of design i have to transport datas from one
    spatial table to another in order to use them in mapinfo.
    How can i handle this with polygon datas?
    if i just do a simple "insert into tab select * from anothertab;
    all std datas are moved but the spatials generate errors while
    opening in mapinfo (illegal data type) any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks i advance,
    Volker I. Lipper

    Hi,
    just a guess - maybe the necessary metadata is missing. I suggest
    you check the MAPINFO.MAPINFO_MAPCATALOG table for the
    appropriate entry (for "anothertab"). If there is no
    corresponding row, you need to make the table mappable in Mapinfo
    Pro first.
    Hope this helps,
    --- Hans.

  • Access data of one class from another class

    Hi,
    I am creating one class say ClassA with some data members,the same class has main() method on execution of which the data members will b assigned a value.
    now i have another class say ClassB with main() method and i want to use the data in ClassA in ClassB do i have any way by which i can have access to that data.
    The instance of ClassA created in ClassB is not showing any values in data members.
    Can u help me find a solution for this.
    Thank you.
    Parag.

    I have tried by making one data member public so that it can have direct access from other class.But it shows null value.
    The problem is that ClassA class data members are assigned values when it completes the execution of function main() so does it retains the values.
    c sample code below.
    public classA{
    int a,b;
    p s v m(String [] args)
    setab();
    public void setab()
    //set values of a and b by doing some manipulations.
    public classB{
    p s v m(string []args)
    classA aclass = new classA();
    /* now what should i do to access the values of a & b in
    aclass object*/
    i strictly need to follow this way do i have a way out.

  • Want to copy the data form one table to another.

    I have two tables named COMP_TRAINING_T and TRNG_CMTS_COMMENTS.
    Now i feel the TRNG_CMTS_COMMENTS is needed so i am moving a column from this table to COMP_TRAINING_T.
    I already have some data in both tables. I have add the column in COMP_TRAINING_T and want to update this table as follows
    update COMP_TRAINING_T a
    SET COMP_TRNG_COMMENTS=
    ( Select COMP_TRNG_CMTS_COMMENTS from comp_trng_cmts_t b
    where a.comp_trng_finance_nbr= b.comp_trng_cmts_finance_nbr and
    a.comp_trng_audit_userid=b.comp_trng_cmts_audit_userid and
    a.comp_trng_date= b.comp_trng_cmts_date and
    a.comp_trng_userid= b.comp_trng_cmts_userid)
    but it is updating the rows correctly for the data it found from the COMP_TRNG_CMTS_COMMENTS table but for other rows it is setting it as Null value.
    How to rewrite this sql.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
    You're doing an UPDATE statement without a WHERE clause, so every row in the destination table will be updated. If the correlated sib-query doesn't find any matching rows in the source table, there's no error, but NULL is returned, so some rows in the destination table may get set to NULL.
    To avoid that, you can use MERGE:
    MERGE INTO     comp_training_t     a
    USING (
          SELECT     comp_trng_cmts_comments
          ,          comp_trng_cmts_finance_nbr
          ,          comp_trng_cmts_audit_userid
          ,          comp_trng_cmts_date
          ,          comp_trng_cmts_userid
          FROM     comp_trng_cmts_t
          )  b
    ON    (          a.comp_trng_finance_nbr      = b.comp_trng_cmts_finance_nbr
          AND     a.comp_trng_audit_userid = b.comp_trng_cmts_audit_userid
          AND     a.comp_trng_date      = b.comp_trng_cmts_date
          AND     a.comp_trng_userid      = b.comp_trng_cmts_userid
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
    SET   a.comp_trng_comments     = b.comp_trng_cmts_comments
    ;MERGE tests (using the ON conditions) whether or not ther is a match between the destination table and the source sub-query.
    If there is a match, it can do an UPDATE.
    If there is no match, it can do an INSERT. In this case, we don't want to insert any new rows, so we just omit the WHEN NOT MATCHED clause.
    Notice that the USING sub-query returns all the columns from the source table that play any role in this job.
    The ON clause contains all the correlation conditions that were in your original statement.
    The alternatives, using UPDATE are:
    (a) Update all rows, but use NVL to set values to themselves if the sub-query returns NULL
    (b) Add a WHERE clause that repeats the correlated sub-query.
    Neither is efficient, and (b) is a maintenance problem, too: if tyou ever change the conditions, you have to make the same change in two places.
    By the way, this site compresses whitespace by default.
    if you need to post formatted code or output, then type these 6 characters:
    (small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after sections of formatted text, to preserve spacing.

  • How can I transfer data form one data store to another iview /dats store

    Hello,
    I have two iview and want to transfer the data from my data store (main iview) to the nested iview (or the data store in nested iview)
    Can you give me instructions, how I can implement this with the signal in and outports.
    Thanks
    Bst regards
    thomas
    I

    Hi Thomas
    Pass the output data of one iview to another(by connecting the output of the 1st to the input of the 2nd) and then <b>Signal Out</b> the combined data of the two iviews from the 2nd iView using a <b>event</b>(say, a submit button) from the 2nd iView.
    Connect the <b>signal out</b> to the nested iView(main iView) by composing a <b>Signal In</b> on the nested iView.
    Next, inside the nested iView design layout push the values from <b>Signal In to a data store.</b>
    Now you could access all the data @datastore from any no. of forms inside the nested iViews.

  • How do the copy the Recording form one client to another client.

    Hi all
    I have one scenario like
    We need to process the sales documents which are not process to output(means send the document to printer) .
    For that I have to write a BDC program,
    In that program we  need to list out the all the documents which are not process .
    Then we need to do the Recording for VA02.
    NAVIGATION IS LIKE : va02 --> enter the doc No --> go the Extract(main menu) --> output --> Header --> Edit --> select the output type -->Save --> go the Sales Document(in main menu option) --> issue output --> print.
    But what my quarry is we have  to do Record that T-Code (VA02)  client 040 but we don’t have any test data (any entries),
    We have another client 093, in this client we don’t have authorization properly, means I able to Record but I am unable to create the program after recording why becace we don't ahve authorization for SE38.
    Please tell me is there any possible Export the Record form one  client and Import to another client.

    Hi Amjad,
    Yes we can transfer from one client to another client.
    to copy client from 901 to 903. if you have created a recording in client 901, go to transactions SHDB, double click on the specific recording, it will open the recording. there got to menu path: recording->export. export to a text file.
    in client 903 create a sample recording. open the recording in change mode, delete all lines. then go to menu path Recording->import, import the text file.
    it will works fine.

  • Extend material master data from one plant to another plant

    hi,
    how can i extend material master data from one plant to another plant.
    is there any sap standard transaction for this ie. bdc/t-code.
    thanks in advance.......
    rahul

    Hi
    If you want to extend the material form one plant to another then below are the possible options.
    1) MM01 - Use the material in the reference and fill in copy from and to then press enter to complete the extention.This is recommended only if you want to extend very less records.
    2) Use LSMW and record MM01 thru BDC recording available in LSMW and make the template in excel and convert it to .txt tab delimited format to upload more records.LSMW is the perfect tool and is used extensively in all the projects.
    3) Get the help from ABAPer to create upload program and include the BDC recording.
    There is no standard T code available in SAP becoz data mainatenance in the material master will be based on the industry.
    Hope it will help.
    Thanks/Karthik

  • Adding Data From One Table to Another

    Now, this doesn't strike me as a particularly complex problem, but I've either strayed outside the domain of Numbers or I'm just not looking at the problem from the right angle. In any case, I'm sure you guys can offer some insight.
    What I'm trying to do is, essentially, move data from one table to another. One table is a calendar, a simple two column 'date/task to be completed' affair, the other is a schedule of jogging workouts, i.e, times, distances. Basically, I'm trying to create a formula that copies data from the second table onto the first but only for odd days of the week, excepting Sundays (and assuming Monday as the start of the week). Now, this isn't the hard part, I can do that. The problem comes when I replicate the formula down the calendar. Even on the days when the 'if' statement identifies it as an 'even day', the cell reference to the appropriate workout on the second table is incremented, so when it comes to the next 'odd day', it has skipped a workout.
    I can't seem to see any way of getting it to specifically copy the NEXT line in the second table, and not the corresponding line.
    This began as a distraction to try and organise my running so I could see at a glance what I had to do that day and track my progress, but now it's turned into an obsession. SURELY there's a solution?
    Cheers.

    Hi Sealatron,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions and the Numbers '09 forum.
    Several possible ways to move the data occur to me, but the devil's in the details of how the data is currently arranged.
    Is it
    • a list of three workouts, one for each of Monday, Wednesday and Friday, then the same three repeated the following week?
    • an open-ended list that does not repeat?
    • something else?
    Regards,
    Barry

  • How to move only subset of data from one database to another?

    Both source & destination are Oracle11g databases.
    The requirement details are as below,
    1) The database contains static as well as transactional data for telecom domain.
    2) We have to move region-wise data from one database to another.
    3) There are around 10 regions.
    4) The region wise data extraction from source db is based on around 40 to 50 tables. Rest of the tables contains
    static data & it will not change.
    5) The volume is around 1 million subscribers per region.
    6) The migration is required because
    a) The client is upgrading its base product which uses this database
    b) There is a change in structure of static tables
    c) Hardware upgrade
    d) The client want to start with single region on new database & rest of the regions will be operated from old
    database.
    7) Keep execution time to very minimum.
    I am thinking to have solution as below,
    1) Create destination database with upgraded db structure (as mentioned in 6b)
    2) Create database links to access source db in destination db.
    3) Write SQL queries to fetch data from all the respective tables for a specific region
    4) Write separate PL/SQL blocks for each table to fetch data from source db & insert into respective table in
    destination db
    a) Use FOR ALL & bulk collect to improve the performance
    b) Divide table data into multiple chunks & execute parallel batches (around 10) to insert the data
    5) Validate pre & post counts to verify the success of migration
    Is there any other better way?
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    How to move only subset of data from a partiular table by using transportable tablespace?
    E.g. SUB table using SMP_SUB tablespace contains subscriber data in source database.
    The indexes defined on SUB table are under SMP_IDX_SUB tablespace
    The subscribers data can be categorized by different regions, say region_id column. Then how to move data & indexes of SUB table from source db to destination db?
    any specific example would be helpful.

  • Moving tables with data from one client to another

    Hello friends
    I have 2 clients 001 and 002.
    I have created a table with lots of data on client 001.
    I have to get the same table on 002 also with the same data.
    Is there an easier way of transfering this data from one table to another?
    I would appreciate any feedback on this.
    I know that mappings etc., can be done using the export and import of tpz file. So I want to know if there is any similar thing to transfer a table with data.
    THanks
    Ram

    If you do not have the client field in your table, then the table is cross-client.
    IF you have the client field filled with 001, then you need to create the same entries with client 002, I dont think that you can do this with a transport.
    You have to write an ABAP that reads and writes the data.

  • Different ways to Transfer data from one database to another database

    Hi all,
    What are the ways to transfer data from one database to another database. With the following options, i Can transfer data as far as i know. Please
    correct me if i am wrong or tell me if there is any other options are available.
    1) Create database link/connection string and using this string and COPY command, we can transfer data.
    2) By using Export and Import utilities.
    I told first one to my interviewer, he told, its strange, by using, COPY command also can we transfer data ? As far as i know, we can transfer data. Am i right ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pal

    transfer data from one database to another database.You mean store the data of one to another?
    1) Create database link/connection string and using this string and COPY command, we can transfer data.every SELECT on a DB-link is transfering data. And you can have all kind of transfers and store on the e.g CTAS of materialized views or.... the SQL*PLUS COPY :
    The COPY command is not being enhanced to handle datatypes or features introduced with, or after Oracle8i. The COPY command is likely to be made obsolete in a future release.
    But there are many others. Check for ORACLE Streams, and the "COPY" your interviewer was mentioning is about the operating file system COPY right? That's transportable tablespaces.
