Is it possible to transport everything at 1 go?

Hello,
I have flatfile source system, and all the structures that link to a cube which has some queries and workbooks.
Is it possible to transport all at 1 go? Via Transport connection?
I tried choosing many (not all) objects but import error 8.
Can I create directly in target system instead? How will this affect future transport? Will the data model continue to work as in DEV if I create directly in QAS, that is not by transport?
I would like to transport 1 category of objects at a time since I am having so many transport error trying to import many components at once.
Is it possible to import InfoArea alone? Does this apply the same to Infosources, Application component, source system?
What is the best practise to transport?
I have read some posts here but would be glad to know the definitive answer.

hi,
1. source system is not transported, you have to create it in target system (qas/prod).
2. one go is possible, with option 'in dataflow before and afterwards', but not suggested, it will take long time in objects collection and transporting, also not in identify problem.
3. always suggested by transport though create directly in qas mostly will continue work.
4. yes you can e.g take infocube as starting point
- 'only necessary objects' then
- 'in dataflow before' -> ods, update rules/transfer rules, etc.
- 'in dataflow afterwards'-> query, web template, role
5. yes, it's possible to transport infoarea alone, infosource, application component the same, again source system not transported but create directly in qas/prod.
you can rsa1->transport->left frame choose 'object type', middle frame choose infoarea and 'select object' then transfer to right frame.

Yes it is possible, Please login into target system(ECC6) get data and cofiles from source system (4.6c) using ftp method then import the transport objects using tp addtobuffer and tp import with the help of below example.
Ex:
tp addtobuffer transportname SID pf=\usr\sap\trans\bin\PROFILE_NAME
tp import transportname SID client=nnn U16 pf=\usr\sap\trans\bin\PROFILE_NAME

Its possible to transport SAP Query (Global Area). When you save the infoset it will ask you to the request id for transport
For SAP Queries in Standard area, there is a transport icon in the SQ02 screen which would transport it to required destinations

can SolMan ChaRM handle this?

I have the same behaviour in my landscape. Only the systems in the main path is available in SDHF task list
I would say this is normal.
Why is this normal ?
Because the ur.gent correction is to be considered like an emergency process that doesn't superseed the normal maintenance but that complement it to have a faster change in place.
That means the ur.gent transport will follow the normal maintance process anyway
If you miss the ur.gent transport in the other QA client you may schedule the following task in your project tasklist
/TMWFLOW/SCMA_BTCH_SYNC_TEST or online
/TMWFLOW/SCMA_TRIMP_SYNC_TEST
This is not obvious how this is working and I am currently evaluating this solution in another thread

Is it possible to transport an object from Production to DEV?

I have some queries and workbooks in Production that I would like to archive. I have not been able to find a method to archive, so I am wondering if I can transport the queries and workbooks from Production to DEV? I realize the queries may not execute, but so long as I can open them up and see their definitions in DEV, I will be satisfied.
I know this sounds a little bizarre, but is it possible to transport anything from Production to DEV?

you can set in production system to allow changes to obj rsa1->transport connection->click 'object changeability', and look for object type , and set to changeable.

i want to transport that query from PRD to Dev then only i can assign the t-code...

i don't think its possible to transport query created form the SQVI in to other client.
for that other solution is create query with same name in other clinet and save it in local package
and check the generated program name and made tcode in se93 . it will work .
or
cretae query from the SQ02 , SQ03 , SQ01 .
Query made through this procedure is transportable .

I would like to create a Z-table, fill it with values and then transport everything.
This table will not be updated in the productions system.
Delivery class = C Customizing table, maintenance only by cust., not SAP import
Data Browser/table view maint = Display/maintenance allowed
Field: MANDT, etc. etc.
Technical settings: Data class = APPL1, Size = 0, Buffering switched on, Fully buffered.
I also create the Table maintenance generator
When I fill my table with values, these will not be saved in my change request.
What I'm doing wrong?

se11>utilities>table maintenance generator-->there u fill
Fungroup group (inthe function group u give any a z name related to ur table name it create automatically)
package
maintenance screen type and screen name
After this save and activate.
Then goto
Utilities>TABLE CONTENTS>CREATE ENTERIES

Possibility to transport the classification of documents ?

we want to migrate our EP 7.0 Portal from Windows 2003 to AIX in the following way:
1.) transport of all PCD-Objects (incl. Portal-Customizing) from Windows to the AIX-System
2.) recreating of our KMC-Configuration from scratch in the new AIX-System
3.) transport of all Documents (incl. Folders, ACL, ) with ICE
We don´t want to use Systemcopy, because we will start with a fresh system. But we need a way / possibility to transport the classification of our documents.
Any ideas ?

To my knowledge there was a 3rd party tool named Infoshuttle which is add-on to SAP, if you have that in your system then it is possible to transfer transaction data from Production to Non-Production system. It can also transfer from Non-Production system to production system though this is NOT recommended at all as it could create data inconsistency.

Hello Gurus/Wizards
Due to various hardware contraints we will be forced to upgrade(BW 3.0B to BW 3.5 SR1) our BW environment in rigid a sequence . We have only 4 boxes. All of them are on 3.0B . We need to upgrade them to 3.5 SR1.
1.DEV->2.INTEGRATION->3.QUALITY->4.PRODUCTION.
Core Question: Is it possible to upgrade a box (say DEV in our case) to 3.5 and subsequently transport objects from it to a 3.0B box (Integration) assuming we do not use any 3.5 new features.
If not, do you have any alternate way of getting this accomplished. The idea is not to halt the development activity during the upgrade across the boxes.

Yes faced a similar scenario...we moved to 3.5 too.. what we did was have the dev on 3.0 running untill we upgraded another box to 3.5 and then copied the BW Dev to the new box. My Knowledge is we did not loose anything.
