Is it possible to type furigana in Illustrator?

I am able to type furigana (the tiny kana characters on top of kanji showing you the correct reading) in Microsoft Word, but not in Adobe Illustrator. (or any Adobe design software) When copying and pasting my text from Word, the furigana are translated into larger characters in paranthesis besides the corressponding kanji. Is there any way to type furigana correctly in Adobe Illustrator? (or Photoshop or InDesign?)

Use the pen tool to make the lines and add an arrowhead by going to Effect>Stylize>Add arrowhead. If you have never used the pen tool it can be slightly tricky but those lines are simple enough. The Help menu explains.

Yes, it is. You only have to double tap on the Shift icon so it shines in a blue/white colors, not only grey/white as when you tap once for first cap letter only.

Always an excellent idea to have a backup somewhere. Make sure you purchase an external drive that is big enough that you can create a few partitions. That way you can have a partition for the "clone" and then maybe two more partitions: one for your files as a backup and one for your wife's. And you can move the external around between your computer and your wife's, as long as they are both Macs.

Moving mail to folders - is it possible to type the name of the folder, vs scrolling?

Apologies in advance if there is already an answer to this question in the forums; I searched with every combination of the subject I could think of...
Context: my iPhone 4 syncs with an IMAP mail server. I have lots of folders on the server, and I can see all of them on the iPhone. I know how to use the "file" button at the bottom of an email, to move the message to a folder.
Question: is there a way to "open" the keyboard during the filing process, so that I can type the name of the folder, rather than scrolling through the folders?

For someone looking for help you sure have a funny way about you. Trying to narrow down where and under what circumstances a problem occurs is called troubleshooting. Showing that mail's imap works with gmail and google should al least give you pause to reconsider your out and out assertion that the problem has to be solely with mail and perhaps lead you to look at the possibility of an issue with the interaction between mail and godaddy. Just because someone who answers the phone at godaddy says the problem has to be in mail don't make it so.
You know were all just users here, no one is getting paid. Those of us who try and help users like yourself are doing it to give something back to the community. You don't like my help, fine don't take it but check the attitude at the door.

Disable the east asian settings under "preferences > type"
Set your measurements in "units"
Set the document rulers by right clicking in them
You can reset preferences by clicking ctrl - alt - shift while starting Illustrator. This failed as well.
Do you happen to know where the preferences folder is located?
Both Regional and keyboard settings are set to English Extended
Windows 7 64bit.
I found the preferences files, renamed them and restarted Illustrator - same thing. Do you see the screenshot.
I am wondering if I have to have the Creative Cloud application installed to do this. I currently don't have installed as before 4 times in total,, after installing the Creative Cloud application it totally messed up all Adobe Programs so I am loathed to instal it.
There must be a way of doing this without having to instal the Creative Cloud application surely. It is totally useless and I have wasted hours installing and uninstalling after the CC app literally messed up everything. When I have installed it before - Extensions have disappeared, and when I start any Adobe CC program somehow I am always having to reactivate them.
I am lost for a solution.

Type editing in Illustrator CS6?

I am a long time Illustrator occasional user and have not seen this issue before. I have some type set in a .ai file and suddenly I can't select/highlight any live type with the type tool, I can place the tool between letters and do some kerning, but I do not see the baseline and cannot select the type to edit.

Even EVS will not work out of the box. If enetered value is not found in type ValueSet error will be raised.

The only change necessary is: in EvsHelper.applyValue add new value enetered to ValueSet of type. Should work. Unfortunately, cannot test this myself right now.

I work with surveillance systems, and for one customer, I'm taking existing PDFs they have of site floorplans, loading them into Ilustrator CS5, adding icons and text showing camera locations and fields-of-view, then exporting to PDF, loading that into Acrobat Pro X, and adding a hyperlink to each camera icon that when clicked, will open a window with a still capture from that camera, so they can see what the view is "supposed" to look like.
This works fairly well, and the client is happy with it... there's just one annoyance: every click produces a dialog box warning about opening an external program, and in newer versions of Reader, there's no "Don't display this again" checkbox. A way around this would be great, but I had a better idea:
I'm already creating layers in Illustrator: one for the floor plan, a second for the camera icons, a third for the text, and a fourth blank one so I can "swap out" the underlying floor/camera info without losing the hyperlinks (anywhere from 16 to 30, depending on the site).
I had the idea that what I could do, is add a separate layer for each camera's sample image, which would allow me to add the image directly to the document, and have it just appear over the floor plan, rather than loading in a separate app. Then I could have the image layers start out invisible, and toggle the visibility by clicking the camera icon.
Currently I'm exporting to PDF and trying to add the layer-toggle links in Acrobat Pro X... at the moment, trying a Javascript solution, per the other thread, and it's ALMOST working... but at this point, that will be the only thing left that I'm doing in Acrobat. So I'm wondering if there's a way to do it in Illustrator: add a hyperlink in the document that can be clicked to toggle a specified layer's visibility? And then export that to a PDF that will maintain that functionality? That would let me skip using Acrobat at all.

I can't test it right now on this, my knockaround laptop, but I would not be surprised to find that it can be done using the interactivity-oriented features in InDesign CS5. On the other hand, though, I am also continually frustrated that one cannot set basic parameters for exported PDFs such as ititial view, etc., in the exporting app; so I almost always end up editing an exported PDF in Acrobat Pro anyway.
Once the Javascript is written and attached to a hotspot button in Acrobat, replicating the button for the other cameras should simply involve editing a couple of variables in the script to make it target other layers. Reusing the buttons in other PDFs would be a copy/paste affair.
Adobe wants every project you do to necessarily involve every one of its apps. ;-)

How to Type Farsi in Illustrator CS6

Having Adobe Illustrator CS6 Installed on my 64 bit windows 7 and enabling windows Farsi keyboard and installing Farsi fonts on my computer, I am having issues on typing farsi in illustrator and words aooear seperatly from Left to Right(Please be advised that Fasri is a Right to Left written anguage like Arabic).
Can you please let me know how I can fix this issue?

Is it possible for me to script Illustrator to save as PDF and attach to email ?

Hi,
I am after a script to save my current working file as PDF (with some settings) and then bring up a blank outlook email with that file attached ?
I do a lot of artwork and have to get it approved, I am getting bored of manually saving to PDF then going to find the file and then clicking send to > mail recipient etc etc
You know the drill guys.
So would it be possible for me to just run a script that does all that for me ready to insert the persons name or even add the persons name within the script ?

Most of the songs and albums I bought at the iTunes store come with the Album Illustration.
BUT, when I import my cd collection I bought at the retail store into my iTunes, Almost none have Album Illustrations.
So it would only be logical that we can import the cd covers also.
