Is it possible to uninstall iOS 3.1.3 on a 1st gen Ipod?

I recently updated my 1st gen iPod up to iOS 3.1.3, and upon doing so I discovered that my ipod was no longer compatible with the Sony clock radio dock that I have been using. I wish to find a way to uninstall 3.1.3 in order to go back to the previous operating system i was running that was compatible with my dock, however, when I attempt to restore my ipod to factory settings it always still has 3.1.3 as the iOS. Is there any way to revert to old software?

There are only a few apps currently available for the 1G iPod. There is no way to search for only compatible apps. You just have to look at the Requirements section of apps that interest you.
The only real solution is to purchase a newer model iPod

That's basically it. I found my old 1st gen iPod Touch and wanted to update the iOS, but I am away from my computer with iTunes.
I do have wi-fi though.
I tried via Settings->General->Update. But it doesn't have an update option in settings.

A 1G iPod Touch can not be updated past iOS 3.1.3. Only the 3G and 4G iPod touch models can run iOS 5 or later, which added in the ability to update via the Settings app.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I can't get iOS 6.1.1 on my 4th gen ipod touch. It says "Error. Unable to download iOS 6.1.1" Help?

My iPod 4th Generation does not let me download iOS 6.1.1...
The reason I want 6.1.1 is because I want to download kik and a load of other apps but I need 6.1.1.
The message is "Error. Unable to download iOS 6.1.1" or something, and I have no idea what it means or how to fix it because I know barely anything about the apple software things.
I've read a few things about it and discovered that this issue is common, but I can't get the answer I need, and the other posts about this issue were made like two years ago. I've got enough space, definitely, and last night it was downloading it so I put it on the charger and went to sleep, when I woke up it said "Cannot download. Internet connection is required." something like that. I had no issues last night, but now it's saying it cannot download.
Can someone please help?
I've not updated my ipod for a year or so now, but I'm still not sure why it's not working.

You have to have an internet connection, either wireless or through a computer with iTunes. When you choose Software Update you can only update to the latest version for your iPod Touch, iOS 6.1.6

IOS 6 causing problems to my 4th gen iPod touch?

Are there any others like me out there? Okay I've updated my iPod touch approximately two days ago and now it's like the biggest regret of doing so. 1) when it was upgrading the software, my iPod touch went on froze for almost two hours and the upgrade wasn't loading. It only continued after a long while. 2) some of my apps suddenly "disappeared" 3) some of my apps crash when I try to open them (example: App Store, groupon, Facebook and even safari itself even though I only had one page loading) 4) everything became so laggy, my apps take almost forever to load, and whenever I type, it takes quite a while to show up especially in google search 5) sometimes my iPod just "crash" randomly and shows me a black screen for like 5 - 10 seconds and I can't do anything about it but wait until it recover.
iOS 5.1.1 was MUCH better compared to this. This is really a huge disappointment as it has greatly affected the productivity of my iPod touch. I hope your support team is able to recover and repair this damage caused by the upgrade. I look forward to a MUCH NEEDED IMPROVEMENT upgrade to counter this problem.

Have you tried doing a DFU restore in iTunes? To do a DFU restore, you will need to put the iPod into DFU mode by following this tutorial: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034
Then, select restore in iTunes.

Trying to download ios 5.0.1 on 8gb 4th gen ipod touch, HELP!

I went on my itunes, I have itunes 10.5, and it came up with a box that told me that I can update my ipod touch to iOS 5.0.1. So I clicked download and update. It told me about how the update will delete my apps ect. So then it started downloading. It downloaded for an hour then nothing else happened. I have an 8gb ipod touch (4th generation). Step away from the devices....As long as you see iTunes showing that the download is in progress, you are good to go. When it is all done, iTunes will stop doing stuff, and there may be a message on your iPod (or not). But once all activity stops on iTunes, unless there is some sort of error message, you are safe to eject your device from the computer.

If you had a 2G you would not be getting that as 4.2.1 is the farthest it would go and then iTunes would report it's up to date.

Why does the Game Center stop working on my iPad mini? I never had this problem until recently. I don't have this problem on my 4S and yes I have reset the content but I'm not gonna do it to my settings every time this stupid thing decides to act up. I am having some trouble trying to get IOS 3.1 on my first generation Ipod touch. I have the latest Itunes, I do not have any dvd burning software like Anydvd that can interfere, and I've tried it on two different computers with no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.
