Hi, I would like to upgrade my apps, but my iPad2 writes that I don't have enough memory. Is it possible to upgrade only a part of the apps? In the appstore, you can chose either all of them or nothing.

Is it possible to update only the Shared Install component?

We are running MDM 7.1 with all components at 7.1.06.211. We opened an OSS ticket due to an issue with CCMS monitoring and SAP told us to upgrade the MDM Shared Install component to at least 7.1.06.230. We want to use sapinst --> update to apply the patch but cannot find a way to select only the shared install component. Is the correct procedure to:
1. In sapinst on the "Update - MDM Instances" screen, select "Update all MDM instances of the SAP system" (MDS00, MDIS01, MDSS02)
...and then...
2. In sapinst on the "Update - Content Archives" screen, extract only the shared.sar archive and deselect the others (mds.sar, mdis.sar, mdss.sar).
Will this procedure update the shared installation component only and not the others? Is this possible? If not, will all of the other components have to be updated even though SAP said to update only the shared installation component?
We have searched OSS and SDN but cannot find a clear explanation of how this should work. Note 1481741 states that all components within the same SP level (e.g. 7.1.06.xx) are compatible and recommends upgrading only the component affected by the fix, which is what we want to do.
Any help will be appreciated.

Camoracer got it - my work computer has limited hardware/system resources. It can handle iTunes audio, but iTunes video slows it to a crawl and makes it so I can't get any work done. There are video podcasts I'd like to listen to at work, but can't for that reason. So I'd like to just play the audio stream from the podcast while disabling the video stream. The video portion isn't necessary anyway, it's usually just a talking head and not anymore informative than the audio portion alone.

Why did i lose my apps and data after syncing to another new computer? i clicked transfer but only transfered part of the apps?

Okay basically i had 166 apps in my ipod...
After i bought new laptop and wanted to sync into it, it said to transfer apps from ipod touch to laptop, i did, but it only transferred part of it and said the remaining was not able to be transfered...
i had encountered this problem when i transfered the apps in my old pc to my old laptop, now that i wan to transfer apps from my old laptop to my new one, i thought i knew what to do..
i knew the problem was with the fact that the other apps was bought with another apple id thus not able to transfer as it is not yet authorised... while it was syncing, i authorised the older apple id that the apps was not synced yet... after i did, i realised i was left with the apps bought with my new apple id only...
then i realised i lost all my data on my older apps, like the privacy photo app which had memories of my photos stored in it.. tap tap 4 all my songs in it... and 70 other apps..
What happened? this did not happen in my previous attempt during my transfer of apps from old pc to old laptop... so why?
its really really sad... all my data was lost, i got back the apps though.. but data in it all LOST...
what to do? can i still retrieve it back?

- Try redownling the apps by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
The computer has to be authorized and signed into the account that originaly purchased them.
- When all the apps are ih the iTunes library, try restoring from backup if you have the backup that would contain all the app date. I would turn off autosyncing (go to iTunes>Prefernces>Device and check the box titled Prevent iPods...automatically" to prevent overwritting the previous backup.

The Problem started after Update to Edge Animate CC 2014.1.1
I want to update text which is an Edge Animate file
The original Project was programmed with Edge Animate 1.0(not CC)
After I made the changes and saved the file I get a “updatedtext_upgraded” folder that contains the new files.
I am not sure what to do with that folder:
A) Do I have to exchange the data from the Folder ”updatedtext_upgraded”?
or
B) Do I have to put the whole project into the folder “updatedtext1_upgraded”?
or
C) Do I have to develop the whole Project new with AN CC 2014.1.1?

I am currently having issues opening older compositions in 2014.1.1
I have never used an earlier version but have a large project and I am using EA for the first time.
Before I started it I gathered many tutorials and downloaded examples of the features I would need in my new project only to find that they all were created in earlier versions of EA and when I publish from my version they are not working properly in a wide variety of ways.
It seems there are few tutorials built for the very latest version - things like custom scrollbars for text and loading and unloading composiitons - see huge lists online of things Adobe have apparently 'fixed' with this version but it feels like other things are broken.
I am now desperately searching for information on what exactly is deprecated and what I need to do to get files working correctly.
Very worried indeed.

i have a Application.java file in my application-bundles.jar and it is running.
I need to add a new method in Application.java file alone while the instance is running.
I know we can change .jsp file through CRX-DE lite, but looking for .java files.
is it possible or can some one suggest an idea on this?

It is part of bundles. It needs recompilation & deployment. Though server restart is not required.

Actually, I am aware that the upgrade is implemented in 10.6.7. However, up until now I haven't been able to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.7, as I have software that is not yet compatible. So I wondered how to do it within 10.6.6? May be it is not possible? Anyway, this gave me a push to track the software I use for compatibility, and I found that an update for 10.6.7 now is ready for download, so then I will probably solve two issues at the same time. Takes a little work though. Thank you again for your advice.

Automatic update of a part of Jsp

Dear all,
I was wondering if anybody could give me pointers on the direction for this :
I need to update my rows displayed in jsp based on updates done to the database.
Initially I thought I could do this with refreshing the JSP using the Meta tag for every 5 seconds and then having a sql query run for every 5 seconds and compare it with previous results and if the prev.res < new res. then send the data to the jsp. Obviously this is not the right way. I would love to ask for advise on how I should go from here.
That is just a part of the problem. The bigger picture is , I suppose, I will need to use AJAX so that I can update only a part of the jsp and not reload the entire page.
I just have no clue how to go from here. Did a lot of google and found something called hotcell for this. Still, I would love to hear back on advises.

However, this is extremely useful if I am expecting the user to do an input for me.
I need to figure out if a Query is updating table abc ( I plan to do it this way :
I will get the table name from all update queries being executed (this I dont know how I will do though), and then after the successfull updation I will execute the select query for the same table) and then return the result set in the attrResponse.
ultimately this will help in updating rows displayed in jsp based on updates done to the database without the page being refreshed. For ex, if my current Jsp is displaying my total no. of employees, which is 2 then if someone updates the table with a third employee, then the third row gets automatically updated.
am I taking it up in the correct way ?
Is there another way to do this ?

I uninstalled the new QT version, and reinstalled the old QT 7 but the Pro functions were still unavailable, so , I had to reinstal Windows to get my Pro functions back. This happened quite a while ago, but every time I get the "Update" message, I am afraid to launch it.

All I can say is that the problem you experienced is not by design but was instead some sort of technical fault, either in QuickTime or in Windows. I've upgraded QuickTime for Windows a number of times, to various new versions of QuickTime 7, and it's never removed my Pro key. My guess, and this is strictly a guess, is that something corrupted the preference file where the Pro key is held, disabling the Pro features and not allowing you to re-enter your key. Since you reinstalled Windows, I would expect that future updates to QuickTime will go without problem, and if for some reason the Pro features are ever removed, re-entering your Pro key should get them back.

The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available at this time from Apple for $19.99. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 Lion is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If you wait to long and they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already over $100 on Amazon.

Once you are at 10.6.8 Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it. Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store. The price is $19.99.
Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.

It seems to happen randomly and I have checked the preferences and tried using different settings for the Display Performance. I've even tried viewing the job with Overprint Preview switched on.
When placing images only a part of the image shows. When I output to PDF or Print the file then the entire image shows. This makes it very hard to do layouts, especially in cases where I need to crop an image.
In InDesign it looks like this:

If I understand things correctly, you're placing client-supplied images into a new InDesign file that you're creating, so the only part of the workflow that you haven't created is the graphics. This logically leaves the container file innocent.
The question becomes "what's up with either the hardware or the graphics?" If the problem persists with the same graphic files and a new container file on a different user account on the same computer, it's possible that hardware is the villain. If it doesn't persist on a different computer, it's likely the hardware. If it does persist on a different computer, in a new container file, it's likely something in the graphics files.
It's not clear if the graphics card in your iMac is one of the models whose video RAM is "dedicated," that is, it doesn't share video RAM with the main RAM, or if it does share VRAM. If it shares RAM, it's possible that 4GB isn't sufficient to display all the open applications and their demands. If this is the cause, it's a hardware issue (insufficient RAM.)
Because the graphics print and convert to PDF without the problem, it would seem that the graphics are innocent, but perhaps something in the processing of these outputs causes the problem to disappear. For example, perhaps there's some flattening involved. Perhaps there's a clipping path or channel mask of some kind involved that affects the InDesign display? (Just fishing.)
Have you tried opening the graphics in their creating application and saving them to new names? Any difference in the behavior when those graphics are freshly-placed in InDesign, or when their links are updated?
Have you tried placing PDFs of the graphics? If they appear properly, can you crop them to achieve your requirements and hope the problem goes away after the deadline passes<G>?

If you really need to upgrade you can save a bit of money and get an older version than the ipad Air.
First, you can sell your ipad 1 to places like gazelle.com, cashforyourmac.com, sellyour mac.com, or many others out there. The sites I listed give you cash. At this point gazelle.com is giving $70.00 for any ipad 1 in 'good' condition. And cashforyourmac will give you $25.00 over what gazelle.com or sellyourmac.com offers you. Shipping is free.
Then, with that money, go the the Apple online certified refurbished store. As an example, a new 64gb Air costs $699.00. A refurbed 4th gen 64gb costs $529.00 and a 3rd gen 64gb costs $499.00. Personally, I'd skip the 3rd gen. So if you buy a 4th gen 64gb at $529.00 minus what you can get from a sale to above, you can get an ipad 4 64gb for just over $430.00, a savings of savings of about $270.00. (A new 32gb Air is $599.00, a 4th gen 32gb is $449.00, and a 3rd gen 32gb is not on the site right now.) Google it and check if you can get better offers anywhere else.
