Is it possible to upgrade Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat XI Pro?

I have a single user license for Acrobat XI Standard (accompanied my ScanSnap scanner). I'd like to upgrade this to Acrobat Pro XI. Is there some way to do this, and how much will it cost?
Thanks -

Last I checked on this it appears you have to pay the full upgrade cost to Pro (check out My cart at Adobe.com -- sorry, but the Adobe site is a mess to navigate now after someone got to the site and screwed it up royally. You have to click on buy to get there). The result is

• Still possible to download Acrobat X Pro?

3 years ago I purchased Acrobat X Pro for download. My computer crashed and I want to install it on a new computer now but I can't find any download link to Acrobat X Pro version. It is still possible to download Acrobat X Pro?
Also: I have a serial number for Pro X, but this does not work in Acrobat Pro XI. Should I purchase the full version or an upgrade if I want to use Pro XI version?

Hi ,
You can surely download Acrobat X pro from the link mentioned below . If you wish to upgrade, you can surely get the upgrade pricing based on the Acrobat X that you currently own .

• Upgrade Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus using Config.xml

Hello,
I am upgrading Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus. But after using the below config  pro plus did get installed but both versions of Office 2010 ( Stand and Plus ) show up on the machines. I want only Office Pro plus to appear.
The second issue is that even after uninstalling  Office 2010 Standard from the Control panel the Office shows activation of both ( Going to --File ---Help)
How can I edit this config.xml to remove office 2010 Standard first and then upgrade to Office 2010 Pro Plus?
<Configuration Product="ProPlus">
     <Display Level="None" CompletionNotice="No" SuppressModal="Yes" AcceptEula="Yes" />

Hi,
Here is not a Config.xml solution, but we can use it as a workaround, basically automate the uninstallation of Office 2010, reboot the computer and then deploy Office 2010. You may find the following article useful if you need more info on that.

• No LiveCycle Upgrade if upgraded Acrobat X Pro from Creative Suite?

Hi,
I bought Acrobat X Pro as part of Creative Suite 5.5. I saw in the FAQ for Acrobat Pro that if you owned a license for Acrobat X Pro and upgraded to Acrobat XI Pro, you could get a one time upgrade for LiveCycle Designer. I upgraded to Acrobat XI Pro, but was told that I'm not eligible for an upgrade because I have CS5.5. Was anyone able to get an upgrade that got Acrobat X Pro in a creative suite? Why wouldn't my upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro count (and I did get an upgrade, not a new Acrobat XI)?
Any clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello,
You can try re-installing Acrobat 9 Pro or Acrobat X Pro individually.
After it is installed you will have to Deactivate the Complete Suite by launching any CS4/5 Applications. Click on Help > Deactivate.
Then Close and Re-launch the CS 4 / 5 Application, re-launch it and activate with the serial number.
Close and re-launch the Application CS 4 / 5 applications, click on Help > "Make sure you see Deactivate", It means the product is activated.
Now launch Acrobat and accept license. Done !
It should be up and fine.

• Upgrade Acrobat 9 pro vs. new product

In checking various web sites they actually quote the cost of the Acrobat 9  pro full product as substantially less expensive than the full version.   Does anyone know what the disadvanteges would be to go with the full version vs. the upgrade?

Over in the Photoshop forum there is a LONG message thread warning about buying from eBay
Same applies for many/most of the sites that offer prices WAY below the Adobe store
A place like Amazon is OK, but beware of prices that are just too low to be believed

• Error 1311 When Upgrading Acrobat X Pro

I have Acrobat X Pro and have tried upgrading but keep receiving the Error 1311.  How do I fix this issue since I am upgrading and not doing a clean new install?
Steve

There are various aspects reported online for this error. One suggests a system file problem for Windows (http://www.wiki-errors.com/err.php?wiki=1311 - I am not necessarily recommending this as the issue, but it is one report.) Another option is given by Adobe at http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/install-error-1311-1335-or.html. Howver, there is an implied error message given here in terms of a source file not found. All you have indicated is the error number and no message. If there was a message, please post that also. Microsoft posts are generally related to not being able to find a source file also.

• Upgrading Acrobat 8 Pro

I would like to upgrade my Acrobat 8 Pro to a version which is "officially" compatible with Windows 7.  Is there an inexpensive way to do this?  I am not a power user and really don't need the latest version.

Acrobat 11 is supported on Windows 7. You can upgrade from 8 Pro to 11 for $199 USD

• After Win 8.1 upgrade, Acrobat 9 Pro suddenly won't run

I have Web Premium CS4, and Acrobat Pro v. 9.5.5.  I bought a new  Window 8.0 computer 90 days ago, installed the suite, activated, and everything ran fine. Yesterday, I upgraded to Win 8.1. Now, when I open Acrobat Pro, I get a pop-up message saying that it was installed as part of a suite, and to open another program in the suite first. When I click OK, Acrobat closes. I have tried opening nearly every other program in the suite (Bridge, Flash, Photoshop 64-bit), they run OK, but Acrobat will still not run, and there are no activation messages.  I checked my Adobe account, and my version of Acrobat Pro 9 is still listed, with serial number.
I'm very disappointed, as I use Acrobat Pro quite a bit, and currently it will not stay open at all. Other than telephoning Adobe for help (no free support # listed), or using on-line chat (no link available), or e-mailing them (no address listed)...what can I do to "activate" it?
I've tried opening Acrobat Distiller and get the same message, but when I close it, I see a brief flash of what appears to be an input box with activation stuff.  It only appears for half-a-second, so I cannot do anything with it.

Bill, thanks for that info. I don't think I would ever expect to get any support from Adobe on these programs, since I stopped buying revisions after CS4. I was surprised that I was even able to successfully install the CS4 Web suite onto Win 8.0, and Win 8.1 probably adds another couple hundred million lines of redundant code from our friends in Bill Gates-Land.
However, my A-Pro9 problem did resolve unexpectedly!  I tried opening all the suite's programs, one at a time, and then Acrobat, with no luck. Then I realized that the suite had installed both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Photoshop (I use the 64-bit version) onto my new 64-bit computer.  So, when I opened the *32-bit Photoshop* for a minute, closed it, and re-opened Acrobat 9, it went back to working normally.  I'll take it!

• Upgrade Acrobat 7 Pro (Mac OS10.6) to Acrobat X

I used to work on Mac Os 10.6 with Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional, but when I tried to install it with my new Mac (OS 10.7) it tells me that PowerPC is not available.
Should I buy Acrobat X or is there a way to upgrade my Acrobat software to be compatible with this new OS?
tnx

Acrobat 7 being old version may not work on the new OS architecture.
You have to upgrade to the latest i.e, Acrobat X in order to install on 10.7

• Just upgraded acrobat X Pro to XI Pro (11.0.06) and have LiveCycle ES4 but i can't move between the two programs to edit a form anymore.  What happened?

For example, prior to the upgrade, I could start a form in Acrobat, finalize it in LC, and go back later and edit the text if necessary  in Acrobat.  Now I get at must be edited in LC, no other option.
Help.  I have so many forms done this way.  It looks like I'm going to have to redo everything.  There are features I like in Acrobat and features I like in LC.

• Is it possible to upgrade the hard drive of my MacBook Pro Mid 2009?

I have a mid 09 MacBook Pro that has 250GB of hard drive space, and I was looking to upgrade it to something around 750GB to maybe even 1 terabyte. I've looked around and I'm afraid of getting the wrong model for my laptop, so is there any place or trusted website that I could go to to purchase this? What would be ideal would be to find something on Amazon I could use. Thanks!

Kappy's advice is spot on.

Determine the HDD you want to install and then check for the best price.  Amazon is a good source.
Consider a Seagate SSHD (hybrid) which will boot and shut down  your MBP much faster than a conventional HDD with only a modest increase in price.
Ciao.

• Tried to upgrade Acrobat 9 Pro, somehow got saddled with Reader X

Just what is says on the tin: I've been schtucked by the updater. Grrrr.
So what I need to know is:
Whom do I notify that they have a bad routine in the updater
How do get back to Acrobat Pro, of whatever version I'm entilted to as a CS5 owner.
I'm sorry if that's terse, but bushwackings like this torque my nuts. Nevermind all the laps I ran around the support sight looking for help, and getting very little; Can't even figure out how to open a ticket, when I can see I've done so before.
Not good customer servince, I dare say.
[coughs] Thanks in advance.

Very much the response I feared.
Where should I look for said logs, and where do I upload them to?
It's worth noteing I "fixed" the issue myself by going to a Restore Point made about an hour prior to this malfunction; While I now have my Acrobat 9(.4.6) back, Reader X is still be on the system, and wants the file associations.
I've since patched manually to 9.4.7, and wonder if there's a "higher" version I could go to … Without, you know, breaking Pro again.
Thanks again.

• I sit possible to upgrade the graphics card in my Macbook Pro?

I own a macbook pro 2.4 ghz intel core duo, 4gb ram with NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB graphics card. I'm finding this graphics card pretty shocking when it comes to even the simplest of 3D games...i know probably my fault for choosing a laptop not suitable for gaming but still i did expect it to be able to handle graphics like on football manager.
Anyway my question is, is there any way to upgrade my graphics card and how much would it cost?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't expect Skype or iWork to be a problem. I don't know Spotify.
Have you used Disk Utility to correct permissions? This is a routine maintenance procedure that can improve some things. If you are not familiar with using this utility it's sufficient to see at the end 'permissions repair complete' or similar. There are likely to be some messages saying certain things couldn't be corrected but usually these are not serious issues.
The other thing to watch is whether you are running on battery power or mains. When there is intensive processor activity & some other internal activities too the computer might need mains power to perform at its best. You can try various things on battery alone then on battery & mains together and compare performance.
