Is it possible to upgrade G62-361TX Notebook Processor and RAM?

Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding UPGRADE!
I am having G62-361TX model notebook, Processor of Core i3-370M, 3GB RAM (1 X 1GB & 2 X 2GB), 1GB ATI Mobility Rageon Premium Graphics Card, Windows 7 x64.
1. Is is possible to upgrade from Core i3-370M to core i5-470?
2. Is is possible to add 4BG of RAM on one slot and existing 2GB on the other slot?
If yes, then will it be giving any problem like over heating, etc., Have the G62-361TX is been desinged to withstand heavier computing if upgraded?
Thanks in advance!

Maintenance and service guide for G62 laptops:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02542102.pdf
Q2: I think so. The service guide says that it's possible for model 1.1 only. Product specs for G62-361tx say that the hard drive is a 320GB 5400rpm and this hard drive is available for model 1.1 only. I think that you may use a 4GB module anyway, the laptop might be upgraded up to 8GB of RAM..
Q1: Upgrade definitely possible to:
Intel Arrandale i5–520M Processor (2.4 GHz, 3 MB total L3 cache, 1066 MHz)— Dual Core 35 W pn: 594187-001
Intel Arrandale i5–540M Processor (2.53 GHz, 3 MB total L3 cache, 1066 MHz)— Dual core 35 W pn: 594188-001
Intel Arrandale i5–450 Processor (2.4 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache, 1066 MHz)—Dual Core 35 W pn: 613585-001
Intel Arrandale i5–430 Processor (2.26 GHz, 3 MB total L3 cache, 1066 MHz)—Dual Core 35 W pn: 597624-001
Might be possible:
Intel Arrandale i5–560 Processor (2.66–3.2 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache, 1066 MHz)—Dual
Core 35 W (for model 1.1 only) pn: 625824-001
Intel Arrandale i5–580 Processor (2.66–3.33 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache, 1066 MHz)—
Dual Core 35 W (for model 1.1 only) pn: 625825-001
Intel Core i5–460 Processor (2.53 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache, 1066 MHz)—Dual Core 35
W (for model 1.1 only) pn: 626039-001
I can't tell you which model the G62-361tx is so I would use one of the first 4 processors. They should work at 100%!!

Hello, pls i'm asking to know the possibility of upgrading my processor from AMD A6-3430MX APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics to an A10 processor, which will boost the strength of my gaming...is it possible to buy only the A10 processor and replace it on my A6 because the current processor does not support most of my gaming needs while i have enough video graphics memory (1.5gb Radeon). However, i also want to know the amount of maximum RAM the computer can accomodate because currently i have 6gb RAM and i'm thinking of upgrading it to 8gb. Will these changes affect the computer negatively? or what? because i think it the best economical option for me rather than waiting to buy a bigger laptop with a higher processor...Games that require such high specs include upcoming Watchdogs, Need for Speed Rivals, Call of Duty ghost, Upcoming Hitman 6, and so many others...I'm waiting for a feedback

  • Upgrading a 2009 iMac 10,1 21.5" screen to the new processor and RAM

I got mine last year from Best Buy and would like to know if they will or can upgrade my computer to the new quad core processor and RAM?

The processor won't be upgradeable. Even assuming it's not soldered to the logic board and could be swapped without affecting the warranty (it can't), the Core 2 Duo and Core i5/i7 do not use the same socket; you can't replace one with the other.

  • Is it possible to upgrade a dv5 1234ca processor?

I want to upgrade my HP dv5 1234ca laptop processor. Presently my laptop has a 2.00 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400. I was wondering if it was possible to remove the old processor to a faster Core 2 Duo processor? or i3 or i5 processor ?

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01550108.pdf
Look on page 104 on your service manual and these are the processors that will fit in your machine _ the AMD processors do not apply.
To answer your question, no you can't put any "i" series processor in there, the socket is different.
There are faster processors that will fit that are not listed, but if HP has not released a BIOS to accommodate the speed,  the laptop will run hot, so it's advisable to stick with what is listed in the service manual.
You are not going to notice any difference in the speed of the computer by upgrading the processor, if want it to run faster I recommend upgrading to at least a 7200 rpm hard drive or a solid state.
Your question is a little confusing too, you're already running a dual core processor and you are asking if it will run faster on a dual core processor.
If you still want to upgrade the processor, avoid this type of thing from e-bay.
     http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Core-2-Duo-T9600-2-80Ghz-laptopmonkey-value-/160560272354?pt=CPUs&hash=ite...
This processor is what's know as a QS (qualifying sample) or ES (engineering sample) and are clearly marked QS or ES, stamped right on the body of the processor. These are given out to computer designers so that they can develop and test new computer designs and are still the property of Intel.
Even though these will run OK, most of them have been pushed to their limits and may fail and Intel or the seller will not warrantee them.

No, you can't upgrade, except by selling your 4S and using the money towards a 5.

  • Can I Upgrade My Processor And RAM?What Is Compatible?

Hello, I Got A New Laptop Recieved From A Trade,And Was Wondering What And How To Upgrade My CPU And RAM? My Laptop Info: -Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU B800 @ 1.50GHz, 1500Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processors-BIOS Ver. Hewlett-Packard F.33-SMBIOS Ver. 2.7-x64 Bit-2GB RAM(MAX 8GB) Basically I Wanna Upgrade The Laptop For Better Speed/Performance.Im Not Using It For Gaming Etc.Just For Faster Internet Browsing Etc....So Basically A Laptop For Google,YouTube Etc. NOTE: MY INTERNET MBPS IS AROUND 600Mbps WIRELESSLY. My Questions: 1.What Processor's Are Best?,And What Processor's Are Compatible With My Laptop? 2.Do I Just Replace The Processor?Or Motherboard? 3.What RAM Is Compatible With My Laptop? 4.Also What Is The Best Hard Disk Upgrade?(DONT NEED MORE THAN 500GB) 5.How Do I Go About Replacing And Installing The Processor? Thank You!!

This is the source of information about your laptop: the Service Manual: Download Manual here Unfortunately if you look on page 19 you see that Celeron models have their own type of motherboard which means you could only install a different Celeron processor. You could theoretically buy one of the i3/i5 motherboards and install it but that would mean a new motherboard and processor. The cost will approach a new laptop price.  How much memory do you have? Your model was a WalMart Black Friday special a few years back and came with 2 gigs. Increase it to 8 or at least 4. 4 would be cheap as all you would have to do is add a 2 gig module.  Here is the part number for a 4 gig module: 4 GB 621569-001 Here is the 2 gig on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Upgrade-100-6100ix-PC3-10600-1333MHz-PARTS-QUICK/dp/B00FDV69CE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1437999207&sr=8-6&keywords=621565-001 Then save that money you want to spend on the motherboard and processor and just buy a solid state drive. You can get a 250 gig solid state drive for under $100 now. Install it and do a clean reinstall of Windows onto it and you will think you have installed an i5 processor and 8 gigs of RAM. Makes everything pop open, boots way, way faster, etc. The solid state drive is the same physical configuration as a hard drive and is a drop-in replacement. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E250B-AM/dp/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1437999378&sr=1-1&keywords=Samsung+850+Evo Pages 45 and 46 of the Manual show memory upgrade and hard drive removal and reinstallation. Good luck. If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it. so would i be able to upgrade to a  Intel Core i5-2430M 2.40-GHz processor (1333-MHz FSB, 3.0-MB L3 cache, dual core, 35 W; not supported on computer models equipped with Windows 7 Starter 32-bit operating system)???

  • Can the processor and ram be upgraded for an affordable price?

Okay, so I've had my PowerBook 15inch for about 6 or 7 years now. I love it. I have a number of reasons for wanting to keep it. Like ports that fit hard drives that newer MacBook Pro's don't seem to have. I'm a photographer and use it for a lot of digital imagery. How ever, it uses the PowerPC processor and I'm finding that a lot of websites won't let me use it without a intel based Mac. I'm having issues trying to download some PDF's. I'm told this is because I'm not using an intel based Mac. Finally, newer software is starting to require that I have an intel based Mac.
I'm on the move all the time and never at home. Much of my entertainment comes from Netflix and video games such as World of Warcraft. I can't stream video from Netflix and soon I won't be able to play video games on my PowerPC based Mac. I was laid off and I've got little money. I DO NOT want a PC, but can't afford a Mac at this time. I was wondering if the processor could be upgraded as well as the ram for an affordable price.

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
You can upgrade your RAM to 2GB. If you want to see if that will help for programs you run, bring up the Activity Monitor, on your hard drive in applications/utilities. On the system memory tab look at page ins and page outs. If page outs are 10% to 15%+ of page ins, you can use more memory for what you run. A page out is when there isn't enough physical memory to run everything, and the system writes some memory to disk to make room for something else. Too much of this can hamper performance.
On the CPU, as was pointed out, you can't upgrade it.

I want to upgrade my HP dv5 1010 laptop processor. Presently my laptop has a 2.00 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P7350. Hi:
Below is the link to your notebook's service manual:
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01550108.pdf
The processor can be easily removed (without desoldering), but not before you disassemble virtually the entire notebook to get to it.
I also note there is no listing for the processor you have. The Intel processors range from the T8400 to the T9600.  See Chapter 4, page 102.
You cannot intall an Intel i series processor in your notebook.

    Hi,
You have to replace the old battery. The part number is: 593554-001 for a 55Wh or 593553-001 for a 47Wh battery. Search the part number on google shopping or ebay for the best price.

HI, I have HP G62-361 TX laptop. I want to upgrade my RAM as i use it for 3D softwares and multi tasking.
On Crucial.com it shows its 8 GB upgradeable. I am thinking to buy 8GB (1 X 8GB)RAM and then will add 2 GB of my old Ram.
I searched lot on google and some says may be it will support and use 10 GB RAM and some says may be it will not work.
So CAn anyone help me for suggestting that i will buy (1 X 8GB) or (2 X 4GB) RAM.
Because on my model if (1 X 8GB) single Ram can work fine then i will have no lose to buy single slot RAM.

    From the factory your HP G62-361TX Notebook Computer come with 3 GB DDR3 (1 x 1024 MB + 1 x 2048 MB). According to the Compaq Presario CQ62 Notebook PC and HP G62 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide this model supports;
