Is it possible to upgrade or exchange graphic card on Satellite A200?

Some one please tell me if its possible to install anther graphics card in my laptop.I have a Satellite *A200-1Z3* which has an on board display adapter (MOBILE INTEL (R)965 Express Chipset Family).

Unfortunately something like this is not possible. The graphic card is part of mainboard. If the graphic card is defective the whole mainboard must be exchanged.
Sorry buddy but there is nothing to do.

  • Is it possible to upgrade/add a graphics card to a Pavilion dv7-7000 laptop?

I've been doing a lot of research lately, to mostly no avail, about whether or not my HP Pavilion dv7-7025dx laptop can have a dedicated GPU added to it, as currently it only has the integrated Intel HD 4000 Mobile graphics card.
Mostly I've come across the unfortunate agreement that most laptops cannot have their graphics cards upgraded/swapped out, since the graphics card is soldered on to the motherboard. However, after talking to an HP "support representative", they said they believed it was possible to add a graphics card, as long as it is compatible with the HM77 45W UMA Motherboard my computer has.
Furthermore, after finding the maitenence and service manual online for my computer ( http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03221579.pdf ) it says that it could have come with switchable graphics, specifically the Nvidia Geforce 630M or 650M.
So I am wondering, is it really at all possible to add a dedicated graphics card, either by having switchable graphics or something else? Or am I stuck with the integrated Intel HD graphics?
If I can upgrade/add a new card, where would I be able to find/buy a compatible one, and would I be able to install it myself or would I need to go to a local computer repair?

    Hi,
You can't add a dedicated graphics card to the system like this. The vga is soldered to the board so no way you can just plug it in like on a desktop. However, you can buy a new motherboard with the dedicated graphics card on it. It also requires a new heat sink.
    Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03221579.pdf
You need a 682040-001 board plus 682061-001 heat sink to have a dedicated graphics card on your laptop. Have a look on ebay for the part numbers.

    You're very welcome.
I am not a PC repair tech by trade or training.
Other than the replacement motherboard, and fan and heatsink combination, I wouldn't know if any other parts are required.
The parts you need are listed in chapter 3 of the service manual with the part numbers.
I also don't know if the boards come with the windows 8 product key included in the BIOS.
There may be multiple motherboards listed, so make sure you get the right one.
Same for the fan and heatsink.

    Hi,
No, you can't upgrade the graphics chip as it's a shared Intel graphics. You couldn't also upgrade a dedicated graphics like nVidia or ATI ones as it is soldered to the motherboard. The only way how to upgrade a graphics chip on a laptop like this is to replace the motherboard by a compatible one with a more powerful chip on it.

  • Possible to upgrade my Nvidia Graphics Card on my Mid 2014 Macbook Pro?

    Thank you so much.

  • Upgradable GPU ? Graphics cards for next models?

    Hi there!
I'm thinking about buying a Sattelite M40 which fits precisely with my budget. The only problem is the X300 128MB graphics card which is actually the slowest in ATI's X series. Is there any possibility or option of a graphic card upgrade either through the company or with the help of an authorized service provider? I know that there's the X600 in some models which would be a good change from the X300. Will the X300 and X600 be available/upgradable so that they can be changed ? (I know this sounds a bit crazy but some other notebook producers are already doing something similar. But I don't want to buy other notebook...)
My second question is about the matter of GPUs in Toshiba's next models that are coming out in the following months. Does anybody know if Toshiba will keep the X300 on their models or if they will use a stronger card like the X600, X700 or even X800 ? I would prefer to wait a month or so than buy something that I will regret buying after a few months.
Thanks in advance for your help,

Ah such a pity. I'm no expert on mobile computers but I heard somewhere that some boards actually use something like a microAGP (or something like this). I was hoping that maybe there'd be a similar microPCI-express technology that made possible a GPU upgrade.
I was wondering if it'd be possible to connect a stronger graphic card externally through a expansion slot or maybe docking station but maybe I'm going too far.
I think I will buy it anyway since I think it's the best sollution for my money and I've heard only praises for Toshiba's laptops and especially for the Satellite family.
Ah and thanks for the quick reply!! :)

  • Is it possible to install a new Graphics Card ??

Hi - I would like to use Aperture 2, however, it looks like my Graphics Card is too old, and is not supported.
I think my Graphics Card is the following: GeForce FX Go5200
Is it possible to upgrade this ??
    Thanks

Hi, Fantong. No, it isn't possible to upgrade the graphics capabilities of any Powerbook. The GPU and VRAM are soldered to the logic board. And you're correct in thinking your Powerbook doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Aperture 2. I'm afraid you'll have to upgrade to a newer, more powerful Mac or use a different software package.

  • Upgrade to my graphic card ?

Product Name  : HP HDX 16-1370US
    Operating System : Windows 7 64-bit
Hi, I'm currently planning on changing the graphic card in my laptop (NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 M). Problem is, I don't even know if that is possible with this laptop.
    1) Is it possible ?
    2) Is there a maximum to the upgrade I can do ? If so, what would be the highest GeForce card I could put in ? (Can it even be something other than a GeForce ?)
    3) What is the physical process to change the card ? Is it risky ?
Sorry for my ignorance, I usually try to find answers on my own to these kinda things but the task proved more difficult than expected concerning that particular issue ;-) Thank you in advance for your time !

    Hi:
Most HP notebook graphics adapters cannot be upgraded without replacing the entire motherboard.
    That includes your model.
Below is the link to the service manual. While this manual may be outdated, the information still applies regarding the construction of the notebook.
    http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01612461/c01612461.pdf
You can review Chapter 3 for the list of motherboards, and chapter 4 for removal and replacement procedures. There is only one motherboard listed, so you can't even replace the motherboard on this model to upgrade the graphics controller.
As you can see, there are no GPU parts listed in chapter 3, only motherboards, and chapter 4 has no R & R procedures for the GPU.
I hope this provides the specific information you were requesting.
    Best Regards,
    Paul

  • Upgrading your iMac Graphic Card??

    Hello,
I have been looking around for an answer with no hope to find one for my question!!
Why I can't update my iMac Graphic Card to something better? Why this option was not given?
A big company like Apple should have a solution to this issue, you have to....
    Any thoughts!!

Please tell us the year/specifications of your iMac so we can determine whether it is worth/compatible with an upgrade.
While it is more than possible to upgrade an iMac's GPU, (people say its soldered to the mb, trust me its not as I have taken mine apart for myself).
However most iMac users will never perform an upgrade such as this for 2 reasons:
1: The mere process of scouring the web for a specially flashed Mobile MX A/B sized card suitable for installation.
2: The cost, it is expensive and will most likely be more than half the price of the original cost of the unit.
However if you really want to tinker with it, i would take a look over iFixit teardowns/guides to see if you feel comfortable enough dealing with the insides of your machine.
I personally will be saving money for a better speced computer, rather than forking out a fortune for a minor GPU upgrade, and depending on your budget/age of your machine you should probably too.
Thats just the way it is! Sorry

  • Question about upgrading a graphics card of Satellite P200-13z

Can i upgrade the graphics card on my Satellite P200-13z? What are my various options and the corresponding prices?
I only have built in onboard intel 3D accelerator card.

    Hi
    Such questions were posted many times here in the Toshiba forum and there is only one answer;
Its not possible to upgrade the graphic card on any notebooks!!!!!
The GPU is mostly soldered and fixed on the motherboard and its impossible to remove it!!!
You ask for various options? Well I read about external graphic cards for notebooks but in my opinion this is not a real option and dont think the performance of such graphic card would be much better as your internal graphic card in the P200 notebook

  • Upgrading CPU and Graphics Card

I've decided to go for an upgrade on my laptop from dual core to quad core and upgrade the graphics card. I'm looking forward to the release of Diablo 3 and would like to play it with good settings to enjoy the experience more(along with other general gaming).
However, after a good 1-2 hours of googling, I've found next to nothing on what parts I need to upgrade my laptop. I did come across one website but just came back with no results for the specifications I put in.
So it would be nice if someone could point me in the right direction or even a direct link to a reccomended part.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6 1210sa. I am upgrading the RAM but already had advice on that .
PS - Would like 2+ GH'z x4 on the processor and 1gb on the graphics card, if possible.

    You're very welcome.
I agree. Finding the parts cheaply could be hard.
You can enter the part numbers in the HP site below and see what comes up.
    http://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/Default.aspx?mscssid=A81A1CB37CF34781BBACF8243D7C479E
For example, the system board with the best graphics (HD 4650) is $416 on the HP part store above.
If you wanted to install the best processor (ZM-87), that will set ya back $267.19.
So, you can see what I mean by you may bet better off selling and buying one you would really be happy with.
You're looking at almost $700 just for these two components. I don't know what a notebook of that caliber would cost, but I don't think it would be a much more than that.

  • Can I upgrade my laptop Graphic Card

I have a HP DV6 B1N18EA, its has the nividia geforce 630m 2 gb detecated, I need a better graphic card to upgrade it. So can anyone please tell me if i can

    Hi,
Basically you can, with a cost and I believe this cost may be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:
New card price,  and WHERE you can buy it because laptop cards are not the same as desktop cards. You can't buy from any normal shop,
Need new system board (may be),
Need new cooling system because generally speaking more powerfull card pumps out more heat (you want more powerfull card don't you?).
May need new PSU because your current PSU may not suitbale to the card. (I ordered a machine with Nvidia card and I needed to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal 65W charger. They simply rejected my order).
    Labor cost.
    Many, many packets of Asprin.
    Hope this helps.

  • Upgrade of the graphic card.

    My laptop hp pavilliong6 notebook
intel core i3 2350m [email protected] ghz
    ram 2 gb
    hard disk 500 gb
    graphic device radeon(tm) hd 7450m
i want to know that can i upgrade it or not as when i play games like transformer fall of cybertron on low setting it crashes and message comes game stopped responding and when i play games like roller coaster tycoon it works very good. can graphic card be upgraded/changed, or is there some other problem
    thank u.

Sorry but there is no upgrading the graphics on your computer. The systemboard contains the HD 7450M graphics adapter. As the system has HP "switchable graphics", the control settings or drivers may not be correct. This AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver (includes AMD driver, Intel driver, and CCC control panel) is the most current listed for your computer. Try to use drivers directly from AMD or Intel may cause issues. Please see "Switchable Graphics on Notebooks Configured with Intel and AMD/ATI GPUs" for an overview of settings and graphics mode available.
