Exact model number?
Here is : HP ProBook 450 G1 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
Upgrade to 8GB is possible , you can put another 4GB in the second slot.
RAM config: DDR3L PC3L-12800 1600MHz SODIMM SDRAM
If you're planning to buy it through HP Part store , the part number is 691740-001
Graphic card upgrade is not possible as it is either integrated or soldered on to the motherboard.

• Bought iPhone in March 2010 - possible to upgrade or buy the new iphone 4?

Can it be possible to upgrade or buy the iPhone 4 without canceling my A&TT plan? I got the iPhone 3GS and the unlimited plan in March 2010.

From what i understand, Jobs stated at the WWDC that ANYONE under an expiring 2010 contract (expiring within 6 months of iPhone 4 release), At&t is allowing us to upgrade to the iPhone 4. Here's the exact quote and the link to the press article --
"AT&T is going to make an incredibly generous upgrade offer. If your contract expires at any time in 2010, you can upgrade to the iPhone 4. You can get it up to six months early," Jobs added.

• Is it possible to move some of the capture processes to another rac node?

Hi All,
Is it possible to move some of the ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) capture processes running on node1 to node2. Once moved does it work as usual or not? If its possible please provide me with steps.
Appreciate your response
Best Regards
SK.

Hi Cezar,
Thanks for your post. I have a related question regarding this,
Is it really necessary to have multiple capture and multiple apply processes? One for each schema in ODI? Because if set to automatic configuration, ODI seems to create a capture and a related apply process for each schema, which I guess leads to our specific performance problem (high cpu etc) I mentioned in my other post: Re: Is it possible to move some of the capture processes to another rac node?
Is there way to use just one capture and one apply process for all of the schemas in ODI?
Thanks a million.

• On the Apple Watch, has anyone figured out a way (if possible) to remove some of the redundant auto responses available when using Messages?

There are some responses that always show which I would never use, such as BRB, that I'd like to completely remove. There are other responses that are excessively redundant. I don't need Thx, Thanks, Thank you. and Thanks! as separate available auto responses every single time. Anyone else had better luck figuring that out?
Overall I'm really liking the Watch so far. The only thing bringing it down is sone of those small details.

Visit the Apple Watch app, then go to My Watch > Messages > Default Replies.
You can add your own but there will still be Apple auto default replies too.
Kinda lame. Hope there's a new option to get rid of those in the future. I'd rather ALWAYS dictate and not have those 'smart responses' there at all.

• I have not upgraded my Final Cut Pro in a while. Is it not possible to upgrade Final Cut Studio anymore? Do you have to buy the software seperate?

Is it not possible to upgrade Final Cut Studio as a whole? Do you have to now buy the software separately?

It is still possible to upgrade some versions of FCP, especially the Studios, As always, the upgrades apply to base versions that needed to be purchased. The latest version of Final Cut Studio is no longer for sale from Apple but it doesn't run on a PowerMac anyway. The only Final Cut Pro product currently for sale is Final Cut Pro X, which requires an Intel Mac.

• Is it possible to upgrade the OS without a working CD drive?

Hi,
I have an older Powerbook G4 running OS 10.3.9. It's still (mostly) working, and I've managed to get by without updating my OS, because I was told that it would compromise performance if I tried to update to OS 10.4 or later.
However, I just bought a lovely new iPhone 3GS, only to discover to my dismay that I can't synch it with my laptop without running OS 10.4.11.
I would be willing to compromise performance to be able to synch my iPhone and be able to use the contacts and calendar and iTunes, etc. on both devices.
But that leaves me with a bigger problem, which is that my laptop's CD/DVD drive died ages ago. Which really hasn't been a problem (I just use flash drives and an external hard-drive to transfer files, etc.). And it hasn't seemed worthwhile to fix it because the computer is so old, so I'm just trying to squeeze a bit more useful life out of it until I can afford to buy a new one. But now I imagine it probably means I'm unable to upgrade my OS.
Unless it's possible to do the upgrade some other way, which doesn't require using the CD drive?
And if it is possible to upgrade some other way, how much will performance be compromised? (It's a 1GHz PowerPC G4 (3.2) with a 1 MB L3 cache, and 1 GB SDRRAM, or so my "About This Mac" tells me!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could buy an external DVD drive. It needs to be firewire and bootable by Mac OS. If you have another PPC with firewire, you could try target Disk mode and installed tiger that way.
outoforderorder explains how...
By the way, here it is how you find the terminal application.

I tend to think dashboard is neat, but not neccesary for my everyday workflow.
it is possible to enable and disable it as needed,
by entering the following commands into the terminal:
#To turn Dashboard off:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
#To turn Dashboard on:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO
#*You have to restart the Dock after making either change for it to take effect:
killall Dock

• I have a eMac and i was wondering if its possible to upgrade the processor?

I have an eMac and it is very slow so I was looking at upgrading some of the parts. I know I can fit in new RAM but is it possible to get and install a new faster processor?

I vaguely remember there may have been one model that could be, but most are not upgradable, which exact eMac is it?
So we know more about it...
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, report the version of OSX from that window, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...

• Is it physically possible to upgrade the Graphics Card contained within the Mid 2011 Mac Mini that starts @ $799 (The one containing a AMD Radeon HD 6630M w/256MB)?

Simply put, I may occasionally use a handful of high-demand video games on this device. An AMD Radeon HD 6630M w/256MB dedicated is a decent card, but may fall behind on the more demanding games, especially if I keep this system for an extended period of time. And if, sometime in the future, this device still stands but I find I require a more potent graphical source, is it physically possible to upgrade this piece of hardware without irreparably damaging the machine, regardless the methods needed?
I would be more than willing, at that time, to void the warranty if it still stands and perform extensive deconstruction of the device, or have qualified computer repair workers do so for me. I just want to know if it can be done reasonably. I am aware that if this were the Integrated Intel HD graphics 3000 ONLY version, this would be impossible since that system is connected to the motherboard itself. I am hoping this is not a similiar case
Worse case scenario, it turns out to be entirely impossible, and I will either have to look into other possible devices (should the price of SSDs drop soon, the iMac models as of late look encouraging, but only in that lower price scenario) or make the most of the 6630's capabilities, which I honestly doubt will be too terrible.
Before answering in the negative, please attempt to investigate every possibility.

Nope, the "Integrated Graphics" aren't really a video card at all.

• If the 4th Gen won't get iOS 7, would it be at least possible to upgrade to the new "FaceTime Audio"?

If Apple doesn't offer the upgrade of iOS 7 for the 4th Gen iPod Touch, is it possible to upgrade FaceTime to the new version that has "FaceTime Audio"?

There is no way to know unless Apple announces.
Thre is not reason ot believe that this will happen.

• Compile some of the KDE packages

I'd like to know if it's possible to compile some of the packages in the large kde tarballs.
For example, only compile kbounce from the kdegames tarball.
Is this possible with --enable-kbounce --disable-{all other games}, or remove the other folders before starting ./configure.
And does dependance tracking still works for only that package or for the whole tarball.
Greets, Xerverius

It's possible. Some users have made PKGBUILD for stand-alone KDE apps: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=13370
But it's quite involved. You could always download the source and read the doc and configure file. Maybe you could use abs to only compile the apps you want.

• How do I stop firefox from sending a message or note that " do I want this program to change my computer?" It changes some of the settings in my computer; like the color of my task bar changed and other settings too.

Before nothing happened until just recently when box messages would appear and tell me to click "yes or no" if I want the program to change my laptop. I clicked "No", but sometimes it didn't work, and when it didn't work. When it failed, fire fox changed some of the settings in my laptop. For example, the task bar's color would be changed. Also, it seemed as if fire fox had changed some of the settings into an old version. Yesterday I restarted my laptop, and it just went back to normal like nothing happened. But, for a few minutes later, the box will appear and you have to click yes or no. I clicked the "x" button, and it just changed automatically.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
• How far is it possible to upgrade a Mac Pro mid-2010 to the maximum extract.

Hello
How far is it possible to upgrade a Mac Pro mid-2010 to the maximum performance. I would be interested how far one could come close to the performance of the new Mac Pro 2013, or is it hopeless.
My computer
Mac Pro
mid-2010
Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 14 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
Please excuse my english is not the best because.

For what apps?
Okay, you have the slower 2.4GHz processors, most have found that MHz still rule and matter, meaning a 6-core 3.4GHz for some applications (most) was the best and the sweet spot.
So you could upgrade to a pair of 3.2GHz 4-core (cheapest) rather than splurge on two 6-core 3.34GHz (more expensive and more cores).
First thing to do, put the system on a 256GB Samsung 840 SSD.
For photoshop and graphics, invest in some more SSD ($US300 for 500GB) and put those on a PCIe SSD controller ($300 Sonnet Tempo Pro) and put Aperture/Lightroom on one, and use the 2nd SSD for scratch.
RAM: 24-32GB would probably help all but the more casusalist of user.
Tips and articles:
http://www.macperformanceguide.com head to the TOPICS main page and there are dozens of sections each a different area of upgrade and optimization for applications. Storage, memory, how to, use arrays, backup strategy.
