Is it possible to upload and view DVDs to my 60GB ipod?

The feller who sold me this little gizmo said it would play movies, I even found movies listed on one of the menu pages but Apple says, no. They did kind of hint that a visit to this site might be an enlightening experience though. I have no clue about file types and that kind of stuff but I'd sure like to load a few movies. I have a music DVD from Dido that I'd really love to load is it the same thing??? Please let me know if this can be done.

It depends on which 60G iPod you have. If you have a 5th generation 60G iPod then "the fellow" was telling the truth. If, on the other hand, you have a 4th generation 60G iPod, then the people at apple were telling the truth. Since you indicate you found "Movies" listing in a menu, I would assume you own a iPod with video capabilities. The catch is, the movies have to be in either MPEG4/AAC or H.264/AAC format and meet specific regirements withing the format. No, it does not play DVDs, but it is possible and leagal back up your own videos (or commercial movies under the "fair use" concept) if you have a permanent lease on their use.

You may wish to start off with something easy -- like some movie trailers or public domain movies which are already in a digital file format and need only be converted to a proper format for loading to an iPod. (You can also purchase videos already compatible from the iTunes Music Store, but I assumed you might prefer to gain some experience using free files and applications first.) If you search this discussion forum on "Videora" file converter, you will likely learn many of the basics.

Yes, it can be done. In this case, you may wish to search for references to "Decrypter," "ripping," or "extraction" software ireferences in the forum.
Once again, would recommend starting slowly by gaining experience in file conversion process first and learn to recognize what problems and mistakes other Windows users are having/making before delving deeper into the various multimedia format and how to rip, extract, and convert them to an iPod compatible format.

SharePoint 2013 document library, permissions to upload and view shared document only

SharePoint 2013 document library I want to give access to client where they can upload and view their uploaded document and can see all documents shared with them.
I have managed to show all document shared with them only by deactivating a feature but now they can't upload any document, If I create a permission set to allow them to upload documents, they will see all other documents as well which are not shared with them.
Any suggestions?

Hi Sharaqat, the best way to handle your situation is to have a separate library or site for the client. You could use item level permissions per Thilosh, but fine-grained permissions become a major headache. You could also use web parts and audience
targeting, but that's not truly secure.

I am thinking to have a separate document library for client, where they can upload/view/edit etc, we will upload documents in a "secure" library with a column saying this is a private document or public document, if we mark a document public,
a workflow will move that document to the client's document library. I don't think there would be a problem to move a document from 1 library to another in a workflow.
That's the easiest solution I have found so far.

Is it possible to download and view a streaming flv offline?

I'm hoping someone knows a way to download for offline
viewing a streaming flash video found here:

I'm not trying to decompile it or do anything else but just
want to watch it offline. I read that using Firefox with
VideoDownloader would do it, but it didn't work. I'm on Max OSX.

Not all but possible.
Some sites run the file off the server so it will get cached
but some
use streaming servers and such files get dumped as soon as
stop playing.
There are way to rip these files but it become more
complicated.
I was checking the link above and notice that the trailer did
cached so hopefully
the rest of the videos will. You need IE browser as in IE you
can see files
as they really are. Firefox and NS will create random naming
and it makes it
allocating them more tedious.
The file I found after watching the trailer was 8mb

It will then open directory where the files are, in my case

there are plenty for windows. They can record the actual file

When I like to upload my iweb site I am asked to log in to my .mac account. Once the page is uploaded, viewers are also asked to log in with my account name and password. How can I change that?

I tried to enter the page again today but got the same window: In order to see the page I had to enter my id and password. Afterwords I could get into it. The problem was, that the people, whom I send the site address, had to do the same thing. - I don't like to give out my password and id.

Everything is in the title but basicaly, I'm able to read CD and DVD, sometimes DVD gives me some trouble but I always finish being able to read them.
I'm unable to detect Maxell dvd-r and every others brands. The only brand my dvd writer is able to read is Imation.
Someone knows how I can fix that?

I know they have cd/dvd drives for the macbook air. But I'm wondering if I could buy it, hook it up, and it work with idvd.
That model of drive will only work on a MacBook Air. You need a third-party model; iDVD 6 and newer can burn to external drives.

AcademicEarth.org has wonderful lectures and courses posted but the Safari app does not allow the video to play. The videos require adobe flash player and apparently Apple won't allow it to work in the iPod Touch.
Is there some other way to view easily access and view those videos on an iPod Touch?

You can't download from Safari on the Touch. However, you could, presumably, download the files on your computer, add them to your iTunes library and sync them to your Touch. You may need to convert them to the Touch format using the Create iPod or iPhone version command under the advanced menu.

You can upload the .XLS file into a BLOB field in a table and then download that back to the local PC. Look in the APEX Advanced Tutorial for "Create an Upload Item", Page 9-3 (PDF Page: 109). There it will explain how to upload to a BLOB and then how to download that again.

Is it possible to burn a SD DVD correctly from an Encore CS6 Blu-ray project and content?

I shot and edited AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) square pixel video from a Sony NXCAM HXR-NX5U camcorder in Premiere CS6. I then exported the 1920x1080 edited mpeg2 blu-ray m2v file for import into Encore Cs6. Burning a blu-ray disc in Encore CS6 from this mpeg2 bluray m2v file is no problem and look great even with the default settings.
However, I also want to burn a standard DVD using the same HD Encore CS6 project without having to go back to Premiere CS6 and output a 710x480 mpeg-dvd file. I thought i could simply select the dvd format under the build tab in Encore thinking Encore would handle all the necessary conversions to burn a 720x480 DVD but the menus look jaggy and the video does not play smoothly.
Is it possible to burn a standard DVD correctly from an Encore CS6 HD project and content, or is it better to have Premiere CS6 output a 720x480 mpeg-dvd file and create a new standard 720x480 dvd Encore project instead?
Acording to Encore Help, it says "You can build the same project to DVD and Blu‑ray formats no matter which format you select in the New Project or Project Settings dialog box. Encore makes the appropriate adjustments to transcode the elements to the correct format.", but i'm not convinced Encore is doing things correctly.

I tried a variation on your suggestion.
I exported a new m2v file using the mpeg-dvd from Premiere CS6 as you suggested with "Use Maximum Render Quality" checked to get better scaling from HD to SD. I imported it into my Blu-ray EncoreCS6 project by using the "Replace Asset" option and changed the "Project Settings" authoring Mode to "DVD" leaving the HD menu's "Aspect Ratio" at 16:9. I then built the disc using the "Build" tab DVD format and output settings.
It worked!
The jaggies are gone (except for some motion jaggies) and the DVD plays well.
I suppose I could have done something similar within Encore but I'll test that some other time.

The "TDMS Open" node does more than open a file handle, it will load meta data (including file/group/channels' properties) and create index structures in ram for fast accessing any raw data in TDMS file. Thus, my advice is:
1) You can save the efforts to write sub-VIs to preload properties of a TDMS file at least, since they are already kept in memory after the file is opened.
2) Since index structures are presented, the performance to read data of any part in a tdms file will not be affected by the file size and the read performance might already satisfy your application. You can have a try.
