Is it possible to use a cable with two headphone jacks on either end and an electric guitar adapter to record in Garageband?

Hey everyone,
I got my Macbook Air (Mid 2013 model) last month and I want to record my acoustic-electric guitar on Garageband (which came with the Air).
I don't want to buy a guitar that has a USB. I have a cable with a 3.5 mm headphone jack on both ends like the one pictured here on this website http://www.bestdealaz.com/item.php?id=628 (i didn't buy it from this site though).
I connected a 6.3 mm guitar adapter (http://www.ebay.com/bhp/headphone-guitar-adapter) to this cable. Then I connected one end of the cable to my guitar and the other end to the Headphone/Microphone jack on the left side of the MBA.
I saw how other people were saying to go to System Preferences / Sound and then change audio output to audio input.
I can't do that. I tried.

The issue that you are facing when creating an endpoint with internal loadbalancer is the limitation of not allowing same ports to be listening under a single cloud service. This reason for this is that there is a limitation of only one private IP (Also
known as the Internal load balanced IP) per cloud service.

If you decide to purchase one, be careful where you buy from as there are Belkin imitations around ie eBay and indeed Amazon where the quality is suspect particularly if it only costs a couple of £s'. Bought mine from a renowned retailer with genuine Belkin blister pack.

Using audio cable with iPod

When I got my iPod, I bought a kit of accessories that included an AV cable, and audio only cable, etc. Since I have some yoga exercise videos on my iPod, I use the AV cable to connect the iPod to my TV so that I can do the practice. I've also done this for audio-only yoga practices by just connecting the audio plug of the AV cable (ie, instead of using both the audio and visual plugs).
So, what I'm not sure how to use is the audio-only cable. The one I have has plugs on either end that are identical, both with headphone symbols. So, yesterday I tried plugging one into my iPod, one into my stereo's headphone jack--it fit, but this didn't work, even when I turned my stereo to the AUX setting. Is it even possible for the stereo headphone jack to receive input coming in? Am I doing something wrong?
I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I'd appreciate any input!

Ya, going from headphone jack to headphone jack will not work as both are outputs.
The audio only cable is really made for things like car stereos that have a aux input jack of that type. For the home stereo you typically have RCA jacks (the red, yellow, and white style ones).
You can buy a cable with the 1/8" iPod headphone plug on one end and a pair of (red & white) RCA jacks on the other and use that, but you might as well just use the A/V cable you have an ignore the yellow RCA plug when using it for audio only.

I wanted an extended desktop using 2 monitors.
I am using a Dell Ultrasharp ( has 1 VGA and 1 DVI-D) and a LG W2286 (has 2 HDMI, 1 DVI-D and 1 VGA)
I ran into a similar issue where initially the mac would not detect the 2 displays and I thought I would share my solution. I have a Mac Mini 10.8.2 i7 Late 2012.
I bought a "Cable Matters" brand Mini Display Port | Thunderbolt to DVI Male Cable to have dual monitors.
I am also using the included in the box HDMI to DVI-D Adapter from Apple.
Initial configuration was:
Mini-Display (Thunderbolt connector) to DVI connected to the LG DVI-D input.
Apple HDMI to DVI Dongle connected to the Dell DVI-D input.
What happened was that my desktop was on the LG clear as day but OSX did not see the dell monitor.
I called apple support and they could not figure out why the mini cant see the dell monitor. I think I discovered that the mac mini could not support 2 dvi monitors.
I switched the monitor connections.
The connections that works:
HDMI out to HDMI in on the LG using a standard HDMI cable.
Display port | Thunderport to DVI-D on the Dell's DVI-D in.

our customer plans to use a Non-SAP solution for variant configuration (Camos) in SAP ERP (ECC 6.0) and in SAP CRM 7.0 EHP1 as well.
ERP sales orders (and ERP quotations) should be created in SAP CRM (CRM WebUI).
Is it possible to use variant configuration (with an external variant configuration tool) when creating ERP sales orders and quotations in the SAP CRM WebUI or do we have to implement SAP IPC for this?

Dear AEV,
I think LORD (lean orders) should work with variant configuration as well. In the note 1236015 there is not restriction listed. However you need lord2 activated in ECC, and ECC system should be on EHP4.

I have to turn the bass control on the stereo receiver to pratically zero in order for the sound coming through the stereo to be acceptable. Is there a setting on either the iPod or the stereo that I need to change in order to fix this?

The phono input is for a phonograph. The iPod does headphne output is not that same as a phongraph output. Does th stero have an AUX input? That should be compatible.

The following is the basic procedure to extend one 802.11n AirPort with another:

o If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations.
o Open AirPort Utility and select the base station that will connect to the Internet.
o Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open the configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
o Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
o Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
o Next, select the base station that will extend this network, and choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
o Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then choose the network you want to extend from the Network Name pop-up menu.
o Enter the base station network and base station password is necessary.
o Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.

Hi Mark,
NI-VISA is a driver layer that is used to communicate to Serial, GPIB, VXI and PXI platform.
In reality the drivers that you use with Lookot do not make use of this driver layer called VISA (which is used for the most part in the instrument control area).
Normally the terminology (Instrument Driver) is not used in Lookout (or in any SCADA system). So the answer for your question is no, you cannot use NI-VISA with Lookout, with Lookout you either use the drivers object that comes with the package or you use an OPC server (normaly provided by the hardware manufacturer, this hardware is normally a PLC) to provide data to Lookout.

Computer support for that type of equipment is completely up to the company making/selling the embroidery software, not the computer builder. A Mac likely could support any such device BUT the device makers must choose to include Mac software versions. Many specialty software developers are about 15 yeas in the past and thing no one uses Macs, or they are doing the project on a shoestring budget and would have to hire someone on the outside to port the program to Mac.
As that function is likely of very narrow interest around here, I think you would do better to visit some of the embroidery sites and see if they mention products with known Mac support.
Otherwise you will have to find the sites for every embroidery machine maker to look for mention of Mac support.
