Is it possible to use a iCloud email account to receive emails from Apple/iTunes/AppStore?

I an wondering if it's possible somehow to receive all the emails from Apple, iTunes Store or App Store (that normally go to the Apple ID email address) to the iCloud email account (@me.com, @icloud.com) instead.
Thank you.

Yes:
Create a new exisitng mail account for the existing gmail email address.
File > New > Exisitng Mail account
or
Menu icon > New Messages > Exisitng Mail account.
The Thunderbird Mail account wizard window will appear.
Enter your name
Enter full email address
Enter password - the same one you use to logon to see your gmail emails in your webmail account.
Select to remember password.
Click on Continue.
Thunderbird will look up the configuration files.
Usually, it auto checks for IMAP, so you should not need to alter anything.
When it has located server settings, click on 'Done'.
this will create the imap mail account in Thunderbird.
Once this has been done, check settings.
You can locate them either;
Tools > Account Settings for the mail account
or
Menu icon > Options > Account Settings
or
right click on mail accoutn in FolderPane and select 'Settings'.
This link tells you what the settings should be. You will need to select the 'Thunderbird' option to see full info.

Suggest you do not subscribe to see 'All Mail' folder.
It is only gmails archive of all your emails, so subscribing to see this folder will double the size of your profile and may cause some slowdown in performance.

  • TS4002 I changed my password on my email account because my email was hacked. I changed it in my iPhone and iPad also. I have access to my email account, I receive emails and can open them and read them. But I can't reply to any. It goes to my outbox.

Why can't I send an email from my iPhone or iPad since I changed my password because my email account was hacked?

    Hi Teresazubi,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're not able to send from an iCloud email address on your iPhone, be sure to follow these troubleshooting steps from the article above (iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Mail):
Make sure that Mail is turned on in Settings > iCloud.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your device in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. Then send an email to your account to verify that Push is working correctly.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your iCloud account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. If you're using iOS 6, tap Advanced. Then Tap your iCloud account and make sure that Push is turned on. If you have multiple iCloud Mail accounts set up on your device, Push can be used only withone account at a time. Make sure that Push is turned on for your primary iCloud Mail account.
Turn your device off and back on.
If the issue persists, turn off each of the settings in steps 4, 5, and 6 above, then turn them back on. If that does not help, follow these instructions to delete the iCloud account from your device, then add the account back:
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
    Tap your iCloud account.
Tap Delete Account. If you store Contacts, Calendar, or Bookmarks data in iCloud, you will be given the option to keep that data.
On the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars screen, tap Add Account, then tap iCloud to begin setting up your iCloud account again. If data from your device is stored in iCloud, you will be given the option to merge that data with the data on your device.
If you have an email account from a different provider, see the troubleshooting at this link:

    All the best,

  • I am heading overseas shortly for 10 weeks and would like to suspend my iMac desktop email account but receive emails on my iPad. Will taking my email account offline do this? Fozzee46

I am heading overseas shortly for 10 weeks and would like to suspend my email account on my imac desktop but still receive my emails on my ipad while away. If I take my desktop computer emails offline, will this do it for me.
    Fozzee46

You may have to contact your email provider or ISP, though you may be able to set up the email account to be used via the portable device you could carry with you in your travels, but access may vary, depending on the data plan you have, if cellular based; if not try a web-mail based account such as gmail and see if your other mail can be forwarded so you can check it via browser online.
I'm sure there are some options, ones I'd probably not consider. You may find that if your iPad and Mac desktop share an account or sync, email would still be in the Mac's account once it gets back online to the email server.
Some variables likely exist, so beyond this, I won't speculate further.
Good luck in this and safe travels!

  • Why has my iPad and iPhone email account stopped receiving emails?

    My email account has stopped receiving emails. I seem to be ok to send, and my wife's account appears to be ok. Could I have messed up when;
       - I deleted an old account I no longer wanted?
       - I ignored a message saying my account was full (but I deleted all old messages)?
       - I did something else I can't think of?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Multiple email accounts but receiving emails through 1 account all the time

I have a multiple email accounts set up (called email 1,2,3 and 4 for simplicity) through BIS. Every time I receive an email message irrespective of the email address its sent to it is received through just one account all the time (Email 3). For example somebody sends me a message using the email 1 adress. Its received through email 3. If i hit reply to sender the reply is sent through email 3 (i cannot change this). If I forward the response rather than reply to the response I have the option to send it through email 1,2,3 or 4. If i delete the email 3 account I do not receive any emails. Have tried changing phone, sim card, deleting and resending service books, all email settings and defaults set to email account 1 etc. Has anyone seen this before or does anyone have any suggestions..........

Can you tell us which is the mail account ( hotmail, gmail or any personal)
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.

iCloud is not downloaded, it is a part of iOS5.
Do you possibly have iCloud and a MobileMe account set up on the device?  If so, remove the MobileMe account.

Using Outlook 2007 I want to receive emails on my iPhone 4 only when Outlook is NOT open on my computer, as when away from home or want to quickly check email when computer is not turned on. Either ALL emails come to my iPhone or none at all. Is the setting I need to change in Outlook or on the iPhone or is it somewhere else?  I used to have this setting but transferring Outlook to a new laptop somehow turned it off.

No. You really can't do that. Not easily at any rate. You would have to set them both up to use POP3, but even then there is no way to guarantee that the phone won't poll the server prior to your computer doing so, pulling down the message from the server.

  • Is it possible to use an internal optical drive/ZIP drive mount from a PowerMac G4 Graphite in a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver?

Hello, All. Is it possible to use an internal optical drive/ZIP drive mount from a Power Mac G4 Graphite (Sawtooth) in a Power Mac G4 Quicksilver? Obviously, the two computers use physicly different mounts, but does anyone have any tips or hints to make this possible? I appreciate any advice.

"I may be persistent and attempt to drill holes in the correct position in the front of the Quicksilver chassis."
Unfortunately, it's more than a case of drilling a couple of holes.  The modification isn't really feasible, and after you remove the front panel from the Quicksilver case, you'll see what I mean.  In the Optical/Zip drive area, the Quicksilver's front chassis wall isn't cut out the same way as previous models were.  Prior to the Quicksilver models, the front plastic bezel (with the hinged Optical drive door and a blank or Zip-slotted bezel) was snapped in from the front, after the front panel was installed.  The chassis wall had a large opening to accommodate installation/removal of the Optical and Zip drive carrier.  As I indicated before, in the Quicksilver model, the Optical and Zip drive carrier is mounted internally.  This is necessary because the front chassis wall has two separate openings cut in it.  The upper opening is for the oval-shaped, hinged Optical drive door (snaps into place from the interior of the chassis) and the lower opening is a narrow slot for Zip disk insertion and the eject button.  To use the Optical and Zip drive carrier from a Sawtooth G4 would require cutting the Quicksilver's front chassis wall, to create an opening large enough for the carrier.  In doing this, you'd cut away the metal which has (7) small holes in it, through which the hinged door assembly's plastic mounting pins are inserted to properly position and secure it in place.  If you don't want to lose the use of the hinged optical drive door, including the appearance of a seamless front panel, you can't cut away that metal.  If you don't care about having a permanent oval opening in the front panel in front of the optical drive, you could attempt your modification.  Because the Quicksilver's optical drive typically needs to have the trim piece unsnapped from the front of its tray, I'd want to retain the front panel's hinged door bezel to prevent excessive dust from entering the drive.  As I recommended before, check ebay for a pulled carrier.
