IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE DASHBOARD PROMPT VALUE TO FILTER THE RPT LVL PROMPTS

Hi All,
In one of my dashboard i had one dashboard level prompt say "Year".Below one report is embeded and it has one report level prompt say 'Plan Component".
Issue here is report is filtering with proper Year value but In report level prompts it includes all other year values say like 2008,2009,2010.Even though i select 2010 in the dashboard promt.
So well am approaching this issue with presentation variables.still am not able to get desired result.
Please share your ideas and thoughts if you face this issue some time earlier.

i found out how to do this finally!
1) set up google gmail account to forward your emails to (from the [email protected])
2) go to your gmail account
3) go to settings (cog in right hand corner)
4) go to 'accounts and import'
5) go to 'send mail as'
6) click 'Add another email address you own' - add your [email protected] address
7) google will send a verification email with code to that email address.
8) enter code
9) go back to gmail account >'send mail as' and select 'make default'
10) close mac 'mail' program and reopen it.
as long as you have gmail account selected as the primary account in MAIL - mail will now come throught as being sent from that [email protected] address!!

How can I use a report as a filter that accepts a prompt value in R18?

In R17 the following setup worked properly. 1) have a main report that uses another report as a filter report. 2) In the filter report, add a criteria statement which is prompted. 3) pass an argument from a web link or embedded web applet on the report URL using the field reference from the filter report criteria prompt. However, in R18 this no longer works. The filter report does not bring back a set of id's that is used for filtering the main report. The main report just displays all records as if there is no filter criteria supplied. Has anyone else encountered this behavior in R18?

It can be achievable with static tabs created for each LOV .But this is not recommended because , object values can change dynamically .
It is good idea to use section on prompt object in the report .With sections great feature available is in larger report it’s easy to navigate using map. It displays the section tree.You can select the particular LOV to navigate.

Hi all,
I am creating a report which has a list box prompt. When I am selecting a single value from the list box the report is working fine, but when I am selecting multiple values its not returning any data( although data is there). Does anyone know how the prompt values are passed to the report query by the crystal. I kno it passes the value to the report as an array. But how does it pass the value to the report query.
I am using command query to fetch data from the DB.
Crystal Report Version: Crystal Report XI R2.
DB: Oracle 10g
Also does anyone know how to pass the values of the list box prompt to the report query in comma seperated format.

In regards to the latter part of your question
The following examples are applicable to Basic and Crystal syntax.
The examples assume that list is a String array consisting of the 3 elements: "Chocolate", "Vanilla" and "Strawberry".
Join (list)
Returns the String "Chocolate Vanilla Strawberry".
Join (list, "***")
Returns the String "Chocolate**Vanilla**Strawberry".

I have 2 iMacs, one has a thunderbolt port and the other has a mini display port. Would it be possible to use one as an extension of the other? If so what cable would I need.

As the title of the thread says. I have an older iMac with a mini display port and a newer iMac with a thunderbolt port. Would it be possible so that the older iMac is an extension of my new iMac. The reason for this is because logic x can be a abit clustered on one screen.

If you'll be using the 2010 iMac as the display, a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable.
It's not possible to use the 2011 iMac as the display through Target Display mode in that configuration.

I use a Digi002 (mixer/transport controller) with ProTools. Is it possible to use FinalCutPro X with the same contoller? If so, how do I set it up?

Geoff,
I believe the Digi stuff is proprietary. Digi won't let the Transport/Mixer work with any other DAW system including Apple's Logic Pro so I doubt if it's going to work with FCPX.
Digi does have an audio driver that allows the 002 to be used as a simple MIDI/Audio OSX but that's about it.

Possible to use dashboard prompt to capture variable & apply custom filter?

I have an LOV based on column account_descirption with accounts: rent, tax, utilities, etc. Inside that LOV i want to add one custom value "COO." When user selects "COO" i want to capture in a variable and use it to sum multiple account_description values. Is this possible in the report or should i do the sumation in the source table?

If I understood your requirement completely, on your prompt you would have to assign a presentation variable. On your filter you would have to do a case:
CASE when @variable_prompt IS 'COO' THEN ....

yes for every message there will be 4 message variables.

where sabapdocu is a message class that was all ready availble, may be u need to use another one after creating. That message will contain 4 message variables &1 &2 &3 &4' like this.

Is it possible to use a program as a filter between Windows and the user?

I was interested in working on an ACL for Windows 98. What I'd like to do is whenever an app attempts to be opened by the user if they don't have permission through my program it will cancel the request. I'd like to do this in Java but I'm wondering if this can be done in any way.

I saw a program a little while ago that can supposedely give file permissions on older Windows boxes however it cost $35 for each system. The idea I have is to create a log in prompt through my program that pops up when they log in through the regular system. This is used for the program authentication. The program monitors any file actions taken by the system. If a file tries to run which the logged in user doesn't have permssion to the app catches it and cancels it. The idea is not to really block the user from doing something it's to try to limit their environment so if they get a virus or such it can limit the scope of the damage that can be done. It wouldn't be hidden from the user and they could choose to shut if off. It's only a theory right now and I wanted to see if it was possible. I know with VB you can hook events that VB natively doesn't have support for so I was thinking this might be a way. With native Java I knew this wouldn't be possible but I think there would be a Java wrapper which would give hook capability.

TDMS: is it possible to use sender and receiver client within the same SID

I have a general question about TDMS: i always read that it is possible to refresh data from a productive system/client to a test system/client, e.g. PRD100 => DEV100. But is it also possible to refresh data from one sender-client to the receiver-client inside the same system using TDMS, e.g. DEV100 => DEV200.
i'm asking because if i start to build up a new client using tdms the first step is to build up the client using package "ERP Initial Package for Master Data & Customizing". This includes under point "data transfer" the step "lock the system" with teh following description:
Lock System
Activities
During data deletion in the receiver client, the tables are dropped. All clients in the system are affected by this procedure. Consequently, all users in all clients in the receiver system must be temporarily locked while the data deletion takes place.
The function for this activity locks only the current client. If the receiver system is a single client system, it is sufficient to execute the function. If, however, the receiver system is a multi-client system, the user in the other clients must be locked using standard means.
Anyone has any experience with this scenario inside the same system?

You can run TDMS package on the same system and between different clients. However SAP don't recommend to run TDMS package on the same system.
There are 2 ways to delete data in receiver system: Array delete and drop insert.
You have to use Array Insert only which is usually very slow as it first select all the relevant entries from the tables in the target client and then drop it. So, it is slow.
Drop insert is much optimized and fast but the same can not be used in this use case.
That is the reason SAP don't recommend to have TDMS run in same system.

How to display multiple prompt values selected, in the report

I have a LOV : SELECT DISTINCT CO.V_MOVEMENT.ORIGIN_BRANCH_CODE FROM CO.V_MOVEMENT ORDER BY 1
and a parameter associated with it which is multiple selection enabled. The parameter name is P_BRANCH.
When I am displaying P_BRANCH at the top of my report (RTF), it's showing only one value whereas I need to display all the selected value as Comma Separated.

The other option to fetch all the selected values to the report (RTF) is to create a dataset for the field and in the template create a repeating group for each value.
Eg:
1) The SQL is : ( In SQL Server, where :P_S_ORIGIN_BRANCH_CODE is Prompt )
SELECT DISTINCT
:P_S_ORIGIN_BRANCH_CODE as P_BRANCH
2) XML is :
<DATA_DS>
<G_1>
<P_BRANCH>RTM</P_BRANCH>
</G_1>
<G_1>
<P_BRANCH>ABC</P_BRANCH>
</G_1>
</DATA_DS>
3) In report we can display the values as below:
RTM,
ABC
But The Required Output in RTF is : (Values seperated by ",")
RTM, ABC

Is it possible to use a different Adobe account to the one you downloaded the software with on a machine with it not screwing with another versions on that account?

I have 2 adobe accounts, one is my CS5 student license on my mac and one is as a CC trial on this PC.
The trial has run out and I want to buy the CC subscription for my PC but I cant because I signed up with a wrong email address for this account so cant log in to buy it and Adobe customer services are taking over 24 hours to get back to me.

Is it possible to buy the CC on my account associated with the account/software on my Mac onto this computer? (On that account I have already done the 30 day trial and also had it for under 30 days before cancelling CC and going back to CS5).
Or is it only possible to install the software with the specific account you signed up with? As when I have access to my Mac I would like to still use my CS5 on that but CC on this PC.(I really don't want to risk somehow screwing it up so I cant use my CS5)

In case the email is incorrect & it can not be verified then you can abandon that Adobe id, if you have purchased CC with incorrect Email, then you need to get the CC cancelled & buy a new CC with correct Email ID.
Please personally inbox me the incorrect Email ID for further investigations.

Hello, this is my first post in the forums.
I have using Creative soundcards since many years ago, and all of them are working today.
Now, in my primary there is an Audigy, mainly used with Debian Linux, working wondefully, and some Windows time for games.
I'd like to use a Xfi, but the promised Linux compatibility is still on the horizon, so, is it possible to install a Xfi along my Audigy, using only the Audigy in Linux and the two soundcards on Windows (Xfi with headphones and Audigy with surround system Creative P580)?
Will there be a driver conflict of some sort (in Windows) ?

I'm running into the same problem. While it is possible to create an aggregate device using Apple's Audio MIDI setup utility, the Mac doesn't see both microphones. It only ever sees the second one that's plugged in.
