My family has multiple iPhones. Can we use one Apple ID for all of our phones?
If you use the same AppleID for iMessage and iCloud though, you will all be sharing the same message account and iCloud email account. You can use a common AppleID for purchased content, but each create your own unique AppleID for iMessage and iCloud so you each have your own private accounts for those services.

I have been using one apple ID for my family as it makes it easier to manage itunes purchases/rentals on all of our devices. Now that my kids are getting old and my wife has recently purchased an Iphone, I can see that I need to change my strategy. I plan to add a few more iphones to the family very soon. What is your recommendation to manage all of our devices (iphones, itouch, apple tv) for my family? Can I continue to function with one apple ID or is it time to take the leep into attempting to manage multi-apple ID's?
There's a few ways of managing multiple devices on a single computer (and keeping seperate content on each). The following document is worth checking through:

I'm about to purchase Lion. My husband and I each have a desktop, iPad and iPhone. We currently use one Apple ID for iPad/phone purchases. Can we purchase 2 copies of Lion with one Apple ID or do we have to use different Apple IDs for the purchase? If we use the different Apple IDs can we still use the same ID for all of our purchases.
And just in case you were wondering, installing one purchased copy on all the Macs you own is specifically called out as allowed in the Mac OS X Lion license.
If you do not want to download multiple times, just copy the Applications -> Install Lion app to a safe place BEFORE you do the first install. Then copy that copy to any Mac you own where you want to install Lion. -
I have an old Ipad and an IPad Air. I used one Apple ID for both IPads. Now I wish to split the iCloud storage and separate the two. I want to change my new IPad Air to a New Apple ID. How do I do it?
Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account, and enter your Apple ID password. Then sign in with the new ID.
NOTE: "Delete Account" just means it will be deleted from the iPad. The account itself will not be deleted. -
Is it ok to use one apple id for two devices ?
is it ok to use one apple id for two devices ?
Here's the deal: The SLA permits the "sharing" of content with up to 5 family members in the same household. Any other distribution of content is considered stealing...the SLA does not give you the right to distribute content in any way, shape or form. Its really that simple, and "friend" is NOT a family member living in the same household.

i use my apple id that i create it for my iphone 4 on my new iphone 5,then i want to activate the imessage but i can't.what should i do?i want to know i can't use one apple id for two iphone 4 & 5?
HI
I was trying to take my Mac air to factory default settings.
I've done all that it says in the documment i was following, and them during the process it asked me the APPLE ID.
I put the apple id i have in my iphone. But it's not the one... it's said that i don't have any OSX associated with it... so it can not install the OSX.
So what can i do? -
Can I use one Apple TV device on two different HD televisions to view the same info from a mini Mac?

I have one Apple ID for iCloud that is used on multiple devices. Each user has their own Apple ID for Store purchases. Can I use my Apple ID that is NOT my iCloud ID as a way to get my iMessages/FaceTime on multiple devices?
To clarify, we share an iPad (original iOS 5.1.1).
When I use it, I would like to use my individual AppleID that I use for store purchases so I get MY iMessages on both my phone and the iPad.
It seems to work when I use the iCloud Apple ID (meaning iMessages come through on both units) but when I try to set them both up using my store Apple ID, it doesn't work.
Help?!?! -
we are trying to face time between devices, but it won't work whn multiple devices are tied to one apple id.
How do you designate one id to pay for purchases and one so that we can facetime from device to device? The ID used for purchasing is in Settings>Store. This ID does not need to be the same one used for other services such as FaceTime, iMessage, etc. (in fact you're far better off if you use separate Apple IDs for these other services). To change the ID used for iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a separate (and unique) ID. You can similarly change the ID used for FaceTime in Settings>FaceTime. To sycn data with iCloud such as calendars, contacts, etc., without merging your data across devices, set up different iCloud account with different Apple IDs for each device. You can go to Settings>iCloud and turn off syncing for your data, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the device. Then scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Then set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID for each device and turn data syncing back on in Settings>iCloud.
