  • Is it possible to use the camera on my 6233 as a w...

I am wondering if there is any way to connect my phone to my laptop via bluetooth and use it as a web cam. is this possible and how to.

I'm pretty sure that series 40 phones (6233 etc) cannot do this.
Series 60 phones can with an extra bit of software.

  • Is there a flash when using the camera on the iPad?

Is there a flash when using the camera on the iPad?

Unlike iPhone, there's no LED flash on iPad. But iPad's specs indicate that it does have a backside illumination sensor to increase the amount of light captured and thereby improve low-light performance. Apple say:
"The 5‑megapixel iSight camera features a backside illumination sensor that captures great-looking pictures whether by sunlight or candlelight." (Source)

Only way I can figure is having double entries one with singular + some unique field, (maybe called Siri), then making a Smart group for one or both.

  • Flash Player 10 crash once i give it the permission to use the camera

I'm using a videoconference service using Flash Player 10, and when i want to turn on the cam, it ask me to
give the permission to Flash Player to use the camera.
Each time i click the ALLOW button, Internet Explorer hang (I've tried with Google Chrome, i get an error too).
Here's the Error Signature that i get...
    AppName: iexplore.exe               AppVer: 8.0.6001.18702               ModName: flash10c.ocx
    ModVer: 10.0.32.18          Offset 00148950
The error is always the same, and happen at the same moment.
It work just fine with my Dynex 25$ camera.
But when i try to use my Samsung HMX10A camera with a capture device (ADS Tech VideoXPress), i always get this error.
This device work just fine with other applications... but everytime i use a Flash application, bam!  It crash.
Does anyone have an idea?  How to solve this problem?  Is there a list of SUPPORTED CAMERA DEVICES for Flash Player 10? (I've seen a list of completely outdated v6 only on this web site).
    Thanks a lot

My version is Windows XP Pro.

  • My camera flash goes off without me using the camera?

While using my Galaxy S-4 once in awhile the camera flash goes off while reviewing my emails or during something other than using the camera Has anybody have the same problem over the past month?

I haven't seen it reported on the S4, but several S3 users mentioned it after the latest update that phone received.  You might try going to Settings > Accessibility > Flash notification ... if the box is checked, uncheck it.  If it isn't checked, check it and then uncheck it.  I'd suggest then restarting the phone.

  • I would like to know if is possible to use the old iSight with my powerbook (mid 2009)?

I would like to know if is possible to use the old iSight with the macbook pro (mid 2009)?

    Hi,
If the Mac has Firewire then you can use the External iSight
    (Other readers
If you have Firewire 800  then you will need an adapter to use the Firewire 400 camera - Search for the word Adpater and see posts by EZ Jim for more details)
Don't daisy-chain the camera with Hard Drives
The camera only uses a data rate of 200Mbps and the differences in Hard Drive data speeds can be an issue.
The External iSIght should work no matter what Firmware is on there currently.
There is some evidence that having the 1.0.3 version (Open the System Profiler > Hardware > Firewire) on the device makes it more compatible/useable in later OS versions
The Updater is included in Tiger and Leopard.
    Hard Drive/System/Library/CoreServices/iSight Updater/iSight Updater.app
An OS Update could "trigger" this to be run if you have Tiger
It can also be run as a Standalone.
It is Not present in Snow Leopard and although the documentation says this Firmware is an Audio update some people report that the camera needs the 1.0.3 Firmware to run.
(that could simply be the "Flashing" the Memory involved resets it enough to work)

  • HT201302 When I travel with my SLR I like to transfer all photos to the iPad so that they are more easily edited and viewed by others, using the camera kit.  Occasionally I would like to export photos - I have not found a way to do this.  Can you help?

I occasionally have the need to export photos from the iPad to an SD card (photos that were imported using the camera kit). This is useful for e.g. to print photos while travelling.  So far I have not found this functionality anywhere, including in any apps available on iTunes.  Can anyone help?

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

  • Using the camera adapter?

I want to download time lapse video from my plot watcher camera using the camera adapters from apple. Here is the video file information from the manufacturer.
    Any help would be appreciated!
The files are stored on the memory card, in the “\DCIM\100D6OPR\” folder.
The files are named according to date: YYMMDDAA.TLV, where YY = Year, MM = Month, DD = Date, and AA is a “letter code” that is incremented in a sequence (AA, AB, AC, etc.) when multiple files are created on the same date. An example of an actual file name would be 110408AA.TLV.
TLV files utilize the industry standard AVI format. The TLV files can be played in Windows Media Player , Apple QuickTime player, and most video editors if opened manually. In some cases, it may be necessary to rename the file to end in *.AVI.

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Transfer the video to your computer & change the format if necessary. Then you can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • Is it possible to use a camera phone as your webcam?

I have a Nokia N73 camera phone is it possible to set it up to use it as my camera for iChat?

    My reply would be .....
It will depend on the type of Output the camera has.
It may just be possible to use the iChatUSBCam Utility http://www.ecamm.com/mac/ichatusbcam/ which does have a trial period.
As the camera is unlikely to have Mac Drivers it is less likely.
Although iChat may see it as being Self contained like a Camcorder and the format will be the key if the input is over USB.

  • Using the camera and the iPhone simulator

I have tried this with the simulator:
    isSourceTypeAvailable:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera
    and it always returns: NO.
This implies that it is not possible at the moment to use the camera in the iPhone simulator. Am I correct in this?
Note: In Java Mobile Edition, the mobile phone simulator gives simulated images and video to test camera functionality.

To record video, you must first check that the camera source type (UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera) is available and that the movie media type (kUTTypeMovie) is available for the camera.
    The code I added below:
    if (UIImagePickerController isSourceTypeAvailable:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera) {
But I traced the code and found that the if condition returns false. Does that mean I should run the app on the device not on simulator?

The camera connection kit accepts only SD camera memory cards.
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
