Is it possible to utilize Smart Query on 11.1.2.1.103?

I have seen some presentations that suggest as long as Essbase, APS and Smart View are all at least version 11.1.2.1.102, you can utilize the lastest functionality of Smart View. I am specifically interested in Smart Query.
Our current versions as are follows:
Smartview 11.1.2.1.103 (Build 100)
EAS 11.1.2.1.103.27
Hyperion Provider Services 11.1.2.1.103.026 (is this the same as APS?)
Hyperion Business Rules 11.1.2.1.0.858
Studio 11.1.2.1.103
I am more of an end user...hence my interest in Smart Query.
Are we able to get this functionality based on the versions we are on? Or does Smart View need to be 11.1.2.2 and everthing else need to be at least 11.1.2.1.102?

If I remember correctly, Smart Query was introduced in 11.1.2.2 you can use that version of Smart View with the 11.1.2.1.102 version of APS and Essbase. The best version of Smart View to be on is 11.1.2.2.310(unless they just released a later patch)

You said the query saved in favorite from query designer will open in browser and the one saved from analyzer will open in bex excel. But it does not work for me. It saves as web icon and both query is opening in browser.

The different story for me is I have problem of opening the web browser by running a query from favorite or user menu because in the url I have different Client. Is there any way to fix this url problem. Any one in this thread can help me on this issue and will be awarded. Thanks.

While I don't think this is possible in a single query, I definately don't have the background the experts here have.
I have a request to identify all shipments in a period/range of periods that have a payment transaction. For those shipments, the user wants a list of all payment transactions and the initial accrual entry listed by period for potentially a large range of periods. The accrual and payment entries are identifed by the same characteristic and a 0Amount key figure contains the values. A couple methods I have tried I have listed in previous threads with either errors or the query blowing up with what appears to be a cartesian product issue.
Anyone done something like this who can provide pointers.

There are lots of threads on RRI ,just follow them and u can satisfy this requirement.
1)Query A for Shipments
2)Query B for Payment Transactions.
Call report B from Report A
1)GOTO RSBBS
2)Create New
3)Sender Query Give the First Query Report A
4)Below sender Query there is Receiver Query  give the RRI query report B (The query which u want to call).Report type should be BEX ,and Target system--Assign the System(Local) and in the report give the Report B.
5)In the Report A check whether in the GOTO -u get the Receiver Query ,i.e Report B.

Smart Query returning #No Access

I have a laptop where I am testing Smart Query before making it available to other users.
Versions are as follows:
Smart View 11.1.2.2.310 (Build 247)
Essbase & APS on 11.1.2.1.103
When I setup a very simple Smart Query, I keep getting #No Access rather than data. When I set up an ad hoc retrieve against the same application with the same dimensionality settings, I get data.
I'm logged in as a user..not an administrator. I assume that if I can get data via adhoc query, I should be able to get it via Smart Query.
Any thoughts on what I am overlooking?

Are all dimension selections the same? Are you certain the user ID you are using has access View/Select permission to the data?

i don't think its possible to transport query created form the SQVI in to other client.
for that other solution is create query with same name in other clinet and save it in local package
and check the generated program name and made tcode in se93 . it will work .
or
cretae query from the SQ02 , SQ03 , SQ01 .
Query made through this procedure is transportable .

This is done by standard parametrization using query groups and user authorizations.

Not possible to edit "Smart drums" tracks

I have not been able to find out how to edit "Smart Drums" tracks. I am not even sure that it is possible. As far as I know all the other "Smart" instruments are editable so it is a mystery why the drums are not.
If anyone knows how to do it please let me know. Otherwise I would suggest that Apple add this functionality in an update.

Calendar - possible to disable "smart" event details in titles?

I'm extremely frustrated by Mavericks Calendar and Reminders apps... I came from 10.6.x and things worked flawlessly. now, I cannot name an event with any sort of details in the title without it taking those details and applying them to the event itself... and removing them from the event title!
for example, earlier today I was trying to set myself a reminder (via a calendar event, not the reminders app) that would remind me of an appt the next day. I clicked on the date where I wanted the event to appear two weeks in the future, set the time to 8:30pm so that it would remind me before I settled in for the evening that I had something important tomorrow, and entered "REPORT TIME - 4:30 tomorrow" and it removed everything but "REPORT TIME" and changed the event to tomorrow's date, not two weeks in the future, and changed the time to 4:30 instead of 8:30. I know this is supposed to be "smart" technology, but there has to be some way to turn it off, no? I could see if I had no other details, and just typed freely into the new event field and let it do its thing... but I then edited the event's time and date back the way they should be, and then edited the title back the way it should be, and it changed it again!
it took several attempts by making small changes and then saving them before it would allow me to put a title that included another date or time as the actual reminder. is there some setting (obviously not in the regular prefs), but perhaps a terminal command that will remove this "smart" event stuff?

I just submitted a feature request to Apple to add an option for this. Hopefully it'll show up in a future update.

ITunes on External Drive - Possible to have smart playlists sync automatically to internal storage?

As the title says, I've got my entire iTunes library stored on a desktop external hard drive. Of course, when I need to take my computer anywhere, it's got no music on it.
I have the majority of my iTunes library rated, and have a bunch of smart playlists set up.
Is there any way I could set up a smart playlist and have that playlist be stored (and referenced, I don't want to have to hunt the folder down every time I launch iTunes) on my internal hard drive? Maybe with automator?
It's also important to me that all my metadata (play/skip counts and dates) remains untouched, otherwise I loose all my smart playlists.

Is it possible to update a query with another query?

I'm trying to update a query with another query (see attached
code). Here's my setup: I've got a table in an Access database in
which I enter a string into a form and update. This string
corresponds to a single record in another table of the same
datasource. The first table has only one record to provide the
second, which has many and will have more. Basically what I'm
wondering is: Is this a valid thing to do in coldfusion? If not
please help with an alterate method. I'm still a novice at
coldfusion.
The overall effect I'm going for is to display the one record
as a featured truck profile on the web site:

Possible Bug? SQL query changing the Cursor Type from Scrollable to non Scrollable in a ResultSet

Hi all,
I've been beating my head against this for a few days now, and while
there is a workaround, I haven't found out what's causing this to
happen.
Every other SQL query except for this one particular query works fine
and returns a scrollable result set. That one query on the other hand,
returns a non-scrollable result set.
Here's the code which is calling the query:

stmt = conn.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE,ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);

For most queries, the output is "The type is 1004" - which means the
resultset is scrollable - as it should be.
For one particular query, the output is "The type is 1003" which means
that the result set is of type forward-only.
Of course, calling rst.last() fails in the second case.
If the difference between the queries was drastic, I might have
something to go on. I've tested this out with different size queries,
but the switch between having the type incorrectly changed is the
deletion of a 0x0a 0x0d on the first line.
I.E. this means the failing query reads :
"select
from........."
and the query which works reads
"select *
from........."
I've looked at the failing query in it's binary format, and that's the
only difference I can discern.
To further confuse things, there are other queries which have a
similar format - and which work.
I've read about a bug in Weblogic 5.1 SP9 which ignores the setting of
the Statement to return a ResultSet with a scrollable cursor, and
while this seems to be a bug, it doesn't seem the same bug at all -
besides, I'm using Weblogic 6.0 with SP1 on a W2K system.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? I'm
stumped..

Is it possible to set a "query in change mode" with the Report Designer 7.x

I have a query set in "change mode" with an index set as "data can be changed using user entries or planning funcionts".
If I use this query as a "Data Provider" in the Report Designer, the result is still in "change mode" or a result of the Report Designer is only a static image?

Possible in a single query ...?

We have one question master table as...
questionnumber number(3),
answer char(1)
And another table candidate_choice table as...
candidatesrno number(6),
questionnumber number(3),
answer char(1),
marks number(5,2)
Candidate entries are stored in candidate_choice table. Now we have to prepare marks sheet. For this we need to compare each candidate's answer with question master table and it it matches, we have to give 1 mark. And if it does not match we have to give -1 marks. And total marks is to be stored in marks column of candidate_choice table.
How can we write single SQL query to do this ?
(we are using Oracle 9i R. 2)
