Is it possible to view photos on a computer screen immediately after while I'm shooting? I have the cord to attach camera to laptop, but have not been able to view until I do a download. My camera is a Rebel XT 350D.

It is possible. I do it at every shoot I do that involves big groups because the bigger screen (17" laptop) shows whether everyone is in a good pose.
It is called "tethered capture". I use Adobe Light Room 5. Attach a USB cable, start LR and select Tethered Capture. From there it is automatic and everything the camera sees, your laptop does. This method, which may not be the only way, also saves a copy to my laptop.
There are also powered USB cables which allow you to move the laptop up to 70 feet away. If that was needed of course but active USB cable are good for shorter distances because they are more error free and very fast.
BTW, LR5 is a pretty nice post processing, professional level, program for the rest of your image requirements.

Is this possible? View photos in full screen and navigate using cursor

Recent convert from PC. Love the mac thus far but this is driving me crazy. What I am trying to do is to view pictures (in a folder) in full screen and be able to navigate either using the left-right cursor or some kind of buttons on the screen. Here's what I did:
1) Intuitively, I double clicked on one of pics. It brings up Preview. So far so good. Able to view full screen but wait! There's no way to go the the next or previous pics. Ok I get it Preview is supposed to 'simply preview' a doc/pic. It is not a full fledge image viewing application.
2) Few Googles later, I learned about quicklook. Easy enough, I pressed the spacebar and can see the pictures. Left-right cursor works! But wait! It stops when you view the last picture in the row (i.e. it doesn't go the next row). Huh?
3) Few Googles later. I learned about using the 'tab' instead. Very nice...I can now browse pics on the next rows...BUT...how do I go back?
4) Few Googles later. I learned about using the 'shift tab' to go back (now this is getting annoying). Fine, now that I've nailed navigation 101, how do I view the pics in full screen? Quicklook only utilize like 50% of the screen. I don't think it is possible....so back to square one.
5) More Googles later. I learned about "command a" to select all pictures and then "enter". This will open Preview with all the pictures and presto the left-right cursor works, a left-right icon appears and voila the "full screen" icon is available.
Can some expert/genius please tell me if I am too stupid to use a Mac or that Windows 7 is indeed a more superior os.

Thomas thanks. I think we (mostly I) are beating on a dead horse here. I guess I had figured out the answer from the get-go but is simply ranting. Windows may be a crappy os but when it comes to picture viewing, it is more intuitive.
Now that I've figured out that the "solution" is to select all and then open in preview. Another question came up...what if I want to start viewing and navigating from the middle of the pack? Assuming I have a 100 pics, and I "open" pic 50. Using preview on a single pic wont' let me navigate as you had mentioned. Quicklook allows tab/shift tab but not full screen. The "select all then open in preview" won't cut it since it will start from pic 1. Selecting just pic 50 to 100 then preview works but won't allow you to view pic 49 and before.

In addition to FoxFifth's recommendation, you can also copy the link location, or copy the image, and subsequently paste into another application. In some instances (e.g. openclipart.com), one can drag/drop images into local application documents. Exceptions are images that were created with Adobe Flash, HTML/CSS, or blocked from access by the site owner.
Just because you can copy an image from another location, does not automatically grant you the ownership, or use rights to that image on creative works of your own (e.g. blog).

Also I can´t uninstall the app.

I upgraded to 8.1 and now my iphone doesn't appear anymore in the itunes screen. I can see the iphone photos on my computer screen but there is nothing where the device used to show up. I can't back up and I can't see how much storage space is occupied.

Does anybody know how I can restore my itunes to recognize my iphone? I updated to Windows 8.1 and now there is no recognition of my iphone as a device in the itines window.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.

Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

I had a PS3 and could view all my files on my macbook pro.. bought apple tv - thinking it was superior... but I can't seem to access my photos in iphoto when using my apple tv... ??? Is it not possible to view photos from my macbook pro while using my apple tv???

One edit to the location in iTunes -- as of today and iTunes 11.0.2, you need to go to:
iTunes | File | Home Sharing | Choose photos to share ....
and select the appropriate folder, then click the "Apply" button.

There are many apps could help actually. However, I have used FonePaw iPhone Data Recovery to view iCloud photos on my PC. There are no any options to let you choose "rename" in Windows 7 if you connect the iphone via USB
I have tried to rename the photo directly in iPhone Explorer but it will make the photo cannot be read in iphone and just got nothing to show on its screen until I rename it into the previos name again then the picture will show properly.

PhotoStream is designed only for shunting photos taken on one device onto all the others. You can't actually view the photos at icloud.com.
The exception to this is any shared Photostream: these can, if you so choose, appear on a web page:

Why is my MacBook Pro slowe when I open it off line to view photo images?

I had recently activated iCloud. I have it set not to copy my photos or data, but only settings and a few other categories. I opened it offline in Preview to quickly view photos on memory cards. I found it slow, with a drop down box periodically flashing open from the top of the screen. It appears to be attempting to copy or save my images. I presume this is to iCloud, though I have it specifically unchecked and do not want it saved to iCloud. I have Dropbox, which I quit, so it is not a factor. I never save my photo images there either. In the past, it was never problem to open and view images with Preview. Now it is extremely slow to open and load images for contact sheet view. All this is recent with the addition of Mavericks and iCloud. Also, I attempted to get out of this by quitting, but had to resort to a forced quit, as it continued to do what it was doing.
Is there a way to be sure iCloud is not copying things and slowing down my computer? Is this a glitch caused by Mavericks?
I have done scans with Sophos Antivirus and it does not appear I have any virus. I have lost all the speed of having a Mac. It is now slower than my old dual core Acer PC. I recently added a Caldigit Thunderbolt dock which has worked great to add USB 3.0 to my early 2011 MacBook Pro which had not 3.0 ability, but this
was bypassed, as my card reader is only 2.0. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think I have found the source of my problem detailed above. Apparently, there have been problems with Preview running on OS Mavericks, dating back to October 2013, which Apple has yet to acknowledge or address. Many have had similar problems with photo images loading very slowly to the point of making Preview unuseable.
It may also explain problems I have had with flash drives and hard drives that ran on my Mac Book Pro under Lion no longer working since upgrading to Mavericks. I found other postings on these issues.
It is a shame that I have to resort to Google as the best source to identify problems with my Mac and possible solutions. In many cases, it directs me to the source on Apple Support, which is difficult to find when one attempts a search via Apple Support. This could use some improvement.
I am new to using community support sites and Apple does not seem to provide simple, clear directions on how to get started. Jumping in with both feet, not only did I get wet, but I apparently "splashed" someone, as I got a hostile response from another community member on the first issue ever posted. I never did get an answer to the problem, though. I hope some find these comments helpful.
Oh, and wake up, Apple. We all would hope you monitor and glean information from these postings and act promptly to remedy problems with OS Mavericks.

Can't view photos through invidivual Projects

Hi there,
I'm using the trial version of Aperture 3 and stumbled across a strange problem this morning. By way of background, I am using a two year old iMac with about 100GB free space in its harddrive (which is either 250GB or 320GB.
I imported a memory card of jpegs - just 30 or so photos. Everything was fine - it was a quick import and I did some basic editing to a few of them, then happily exported the versions.
This morning I imported another 10 photos as a different project. After importing them, I created a "Feb 2010" folder in the Library (just under the Apple-created smart folders) and dragged both projects into them.
Here's where the weird stuff begins. I clicked on the first project (from within the folder contents view) and saw all of its thumbnails. Then I clicked on the second project, and nothing was there.
Clicking on the "Feb 2010" folder icon revealed all of the thumbnails of both projects, but then I went to click on the projects again, and neither displayed any thumbnails of the relevant project.
I could still edit photos, but had to select them after clicking on the folder rather than the project.
I tried going in another way - by clicking on Projects (or Events?) at the top of the navigation menu, and saw square Events icons for each of my projects. Mousing over them revealed the correct photos for each one. But then clicking on each one revealed a blank page with no photo thumbnails or icons (I tried switching the views - but nothing changed).
I'm wondering if I've overlooked something, done something wrong, or whether this is a bug?
Quick executive summary:
- Two projects in a single folder
- Clicking on folder reveals all correct thumbnails / photos
- Clicking on individual projects shows nothing. No thumbnails, no photos.
- Selecting Events at the top of the menu shows the two projects, but clicking on them shows nothing
Any help would be appreciated - I won't be at my Mac for another 6 hours, but would be grateful for any suggestions for when I do head back home. I can upload screenshots if needed later on.

p.s. my search of these forums only revealed one similar situation, and in that case it was due to the formatting of their external drive where the A3 library was located. My library is all on the iMac.

If you've deleted them from your phone, they may have been removed from your back up, if you have them in photo stream, you should recover them as quickly as possible.

Is i possible to import photos from a disk and retain the same order they appear on the disk? When I import them, the come out in random order.

When first imported the photos will be sorted in the Event chronologically. On the disk they well be sorted by the Finder and that's usually alphanumerically by file name. So select the photos in the event and type Commnad+N. That will create a new album at the left with the photos in it. Then go to the View ➙ Sort Photo menu and select "By Title". That should give you the same order as you view the photos on the disk via the Finder.
