  • [SOLVED]:Is it possible to use functions like decode in 'setWhereClause()'?

    Hello,
    My requirement is that I have 2 poplists - Country and States.
    When I select a country,the corresponding states of that country should get populated in the states poplist.
    The approach I took is that :
    I selected firePartialAction as ActionType in Country poplist. Then I called a function to VOImpl of StatesVO and set the where clause there.
    Now I was thinking about using decode as there is no direct connection between the CountryVO and StatesVO.
    Is it possible to use functions like decode in 'setWhereClause()'?
    For Example:
    setWhereClause("DECODE(LOOKUP_TYPE,'XXC_IND_STATES','IND','XXC_US_STATES','US') = :1");
    setWhereClauseParam(0,Country);
    executeQuery();
    When I tried running the page,no error was given but when the country poplist was changed - there is no change in states poplist.
    If its not possible to use decode in setWhereClause(), could you please guide me as to how I can write a query to retrieve a value from a table and store it in a variable 'A'- so that I can pass that variable 'A' in setWhereClauseParam function .

    That kewl, but for u knowledge u can add anything in ur where clause of query through ur code in Voimpl class. It is even possible to do change entire query, see Voimpl class methods in javadoc.

  • Is RDC integration with Lotus notes apps possible using CR XI and lotus 8

    Hi,
    We have reporting feature implemented in one of lotus notes application using crystal reports 6 (OCX)  and as Crystal report is going to be upgraded to CR XI version in my organisation, we need to implement the same using RDC component.
    Background (on how it has been implemented using CR 6 ) :-
    i) Lotusscript generate few CSV file and pick a .RPT file from profile doc and places it under one folder on local machin (say x).
    ii) RPT file is designed to pick data from CSV file using system DSN (data source).
    iii) Data source (system DSN) has been configured with folder (x) that contains CSV and RPT file .
    iv) Crystal report control object has been embedded in the lotus notes form and lotusscript code gets handle of control object and opens the  report (RPT)file .
    We have set up all neccesary environment and trying to implement above functionality using RDC component but when we are embedding the crstal report report viewer in a lotus notes form , it throws an error "An error has occured while processing a request on an object".
    Please let me know if it possible using RDC or can anyone suggest me some other alternatives .
    TIA

    Hello,
    You should be able to use the RDC in Lotus Notes. There are significant differences between the object model for the old OCX (crystl32.ocx) compared to the Report Designer Component (RDC) and it's components, the craxdrt.dll, crviewer.dll, etc.
    I was able to find an older document that shows how to integrate CR9 into Lotus Notes: "[Using the Report Designer Component (RDC) in Lotus Notes|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/50ce64b3-241f-2b10-b792-9685d3815a21]". You can use this as a starting point to compare with your code.
    The RDC object model hasn't changed much since CR9, but some of the runtime component references in the document may need to be correct (e.g. craxdrt.dll for v11.x vs craxdrt9.dll for v9.x).
    It is worth noting that the RDC has been retired with the release of CR2008. CR XIR2 (v11.5) is the last version of Crystal Reports that uses the RDC. The suggested migration path is to move to the Crystal Reports .NET SDK. This means you'll have no upgrade path with a v11.x application.

    Dan Kelleher

  • Error : Access not possible using "null" objects reference

    Hello.
    i am working with a zbapi.
    i called a external email program in this bapi,everything is working fine over here.
    In webdynpro java they mapped my bapi and starting working from there.
    every functionality is working fine but regarding this email stuff it is showing an error as access not possible using null objects reference.
    where could be the possible error.
    is it in webdynpro or in abap side.

    Raghu,
    You are right. When it comes from the WD Java, may be you are not passing any value at all. You can trace it by these ways.
    1. Check it using SE37, make sure everyhting is fine.
    2. Print all the values that you are passing to the RFC in the execute RFC method().
    3. using ST05 transaction in R/3, enable RFC and SQL trace, check what is passing in between web dynpro and R/3.
    Moreover paste your error message here.
    Thanks,
    Raj.

  • Using functions in alert text

    Post Author: RScipione
    CA Forum: Performance Management and Dashboards
    I'm using Business Objects Enterprise XI Release 2 and am having trouble with some alerts I am creating in a rule in InfoView.  According to the documentation I've seen, I should be able to use functions in the title and text of the alert, but I can't get it to recognize the functions.  If I put "metric1" (no quotes) in the text, I get the metric value, but if I try "MetricValue(metric1.id, 0)", I get an error when I try to run the rule titled "Fail to run the action" and "Error evaluating action expression.    #v1 .ID, 0) Success".  The alert is generated, but the text is "MetricValue(#v1.ID, 0)", not the value of the metric.
    Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?  Is the documentation I read incorrect?
    Thanks in advance for any replies,
    Richard

    I'll reply to my own post so that others might benefit from the response I got from customer support.
    It is possible to use functions in alert text, but the function must be preceeded by #f and followed by %.  So to get the example from my previous post working, I used:
    #f MetricValue(metric1.id, 0) %
    The 'f' is case sensitive by the way.

  • Using Functions in DocProperties

    Hi!
    Just one quick question: Is it possible to use functions (or other DocProperties) in DocProperties and how?
    I just found the possibility to define TEXT,DATE,INT or BOOLEAN but nothing else.
    Thanks in advance for replies
    bastian

    No, it is not possible to use functions in the definition of a document property.
    You can, of course, use any expression (including functions) when you set the
    value of a document property using VBA.

  • Use functions in parameters?

    Hi,
    is it possible to use functions in a parameter?
    We use a parameter for a field from an Oracle database - the values in this field are stored as "Employee ID - Employee Name"; however, we only would like to see the name, not the id in the parameter field list (and filter). We also have to apply the URLDecode function since we have special characters in the employee names.
    Thanks!

    Hi Dear,
                 Actually you can't directly apply function on Parameters but if u have restriction by the prameter
                 then you can apply formula in select expert on that pamaters...

  • Is it possible using SQLite to collect data from an older SQL database?

    Is it possible using SQLite to collect data from an older SQL database? Where can I find a possible answer. Thanks in advance.

    There are 3rd-party tools (see comprehensive list at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html) that provide extra pdf functionality on top of the pdf export from Crystal.
    In the case of my Visual CUT software, you can use hidden formulas inside your Crystal report to generate form fields (pre-populated as well as empty) as part of the pdf export process.

    APPL_LOG_DISPLAY     With this function module you can analyze logs in the database.
    APPL_LOG_DISPLAY_INTERN     With this function module you can analyze logs in local memory, e.g. when you have only collected log records at runtime and do not want to write to the database.
    APPL_LOG_INIT     This function module checks whether the specified object or sub-object exists and deletes all existing associated data in local memory.
    APPL_LOG_READ_DB     With this function module you read the log data in the database for an object or sub-object according to specified selection conditions.
    APPL_LOG_READ_INTERN     With this function module you read all log data whose log class has at least the specified value, from local memory, for the specified object or sub-object.
    APPL_LOG_SET_OBJECT     With this function module, you create a new object or sub-object for writing in local memory. With a flag you can control whether the APPL_LOG_WRITE_... messages are written in local memory or are output on the screen.

    FU CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ     You can use this function module to display simple material BOMs. You cannot display BOM groups (for example, all variants of a variant BOM). as in transaction CS03. Current restrictions: You cannot display long texts. You cannot display sub-items. You cannot display classification data of BOM items for batches. You can only display one alternative or variant. You cannot enter an alternative for module CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ, so you always see alternative 01. The following example came from a posting on the SAP-R3-L mailing list.
    Example:
    data: begin of tstk2 occurs 0.
              include structure stko_api02.
    data: end of tstk2.
    data: begin of tstp2 occurs 0.

    & read about 'SAP liveCache'.
    As you know objects stored in liveCache in the class containers can be accessed
    and manipulated only via LCA routines which are methods of LCA objects.
    The registration of the LCA routines is done automatically when
    the liveCache is started by the LC10, check the lcinit.log file.
    The shared procedures in the LiveCache are written in C++ and shipped
    to the customers as binary shared libraries(LCA-Routines) < LCA build >
    together with the LiveCache. The original C++ source code of the
    libraries is not generally available to the customers.
    The LCA routines could be called via "/SAPAPO/OM*" ABAP functions.
    -> For SAP liveCache documentation in English:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f2/0271f49770f0498d32844fc0283645/frameset.htm
    < -> Database Administration in CCMS: SAP liveCache -> liveCache Assistant ->
    liveCache: Monitoring -> Problem Analysis-> DB Procedures >
    In transaction LC10 for the LCA connection choose liveCache:Monitoring
    then go to Problem Analysis -> DB Procedures=>
    The system displays an overview of all database procedures loaded into
    liveCache, their input and output parameters, and other details.
    -> Tr. /n/SAPAPO/OM16 ( in further releases /n/sapapo/om19 ) is provided by
    SAP to get information about data stored in the LiveCache. If you would
    like to get your own views, you should write a special report in ABAP using
    "/SAPAPO/OM"-development class functionality.
    -> There are standard function modules in ABAP available to extract/change data from/in liveCache.

  • How can I using functions implicit in dll file in java code ?

    How can I using functions implicit in dll file in java code ?
    I'm developing a program that interfacing with fingerprint hardware.
    I have the finger print already, and I have to the SDK that have all functions for managing this fingerprint.
    These SDK functions are represented in dll files.
    I want to know how can I use these functions in java code .
    I looked on this link of sun forums :
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=305171&messageID=1215613
    but I don't Understand the meaning of native code.
    Thanks for help.

    please please please please please please please please help me:
    After reading a lot of articles, tutorials, and overviews about JNI (Java Native Interface)
    I found that these steps
    1.     Develop the Java code
    2.     Compile the Java code to a class file
    3.     Generate the header file
    4.     Implement the native method
    5.     Create the shared library or DLL
    6.     Run the Java program
    Is the common steps in JNI development
    The most powerful link was
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jni/html/start.html
    and
    http://www.netbeans.org/kb/55/beginning-jni-part2.html
    and the pdf oh this link
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/edu/j-dw-javajni-i.html requiring IBM registration to download it.
    But I have already the DLL, and want to the stright forward way to use its functions by java code only.
    I don not to write any C++ code .
    Is this possible???????????????????????????????
    The name of these dll is zkemsdk.dll
    It developed by ZKSOFTWARE company for managing a finger print NP1500Aof

  • Javax.faces.FacesException: javax.servlet.ServletException: OracleJSP error: javax.el.ELException: Expression uses functions, but no FunctionMapper was provided

    Guys,
    I have a WebCenter Portal application which consumes few adf applications. This task is achieved by WSRP, and I am creating the portlet.xml in the adf application by the Jdeveloper.
    These ADF applications are deployed in another server instance in Weblogic Server. However, the installation was made equal in WCP and ADF, which was considering the portal libraries for portlet consuming as well.
    The thing is, in my embeddable weblogic, the application runs fine. However, when I deployed in the server, I get the following error in some adf pages:
    <Sep 26, 2013 7:23:57 PM BRT> <Error> <oracle.adfinternal.controller.application.AdfcExceptionHandler> <ADFC-50018> <ADFc: No exception handler was found for an application exception.

    javax.el.ELException: Expression uses functions, but no FunctionMapper was provided
      at com.sun.faces.context.ExternalContextImpl.dispatch(ExternalContextImpl.java:415)
    Is it possible the WebCenter libraries are conflicting? What is the best pratices in consuming ADF application from WebCenter?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    WebCenter version 11.1.1.8.

  • How to return multiples values useing functions

    Hi to all,
    I am using functions to return multiple values of two rows or multiple rows.
    For example emp id = 100 and i need to return the value for this(empid) input and output of this first_name and salary.
    I am tried in this way below but got errors (ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected NUMBER got HR.EMP_TYPE)
    create or replace type emp_type as object(first_name varchar2(20),salary number);
    create or replace function f1(empid in number)
    return emp_type
    as
    emp_record emp_type;
    begin
    select first_name,salary into emp_record.first_name,emp_record.salary from employees where employee_id = empid ;
    return emp_record;
    end;
    select f1(100) from dual;

    Sql is Sql and plsql is plsql. Though we can almost use all the sql objects inside a plsql code but vice versa is not always possible. Since plsql is tightly integrated with sql , if you return a number/date/varchar2 datatype values from plsql code to sql code,there is nothing wrong .Sql acknowledges this return type and knows well about how to handle it .But plsql record is a plsql specific datatype ,oracle was not built keeping in mind the fact that people will be creating difference types of records in plsql .So if you return a plsql datatype into a sql statement (which is processed by a sql engine) ,you need to tell oracle that I have written a plsql code which is going to return a record type so that sql engine can interpret it well.
    So all you need to do is create record in sql (known as object in sql ),when you make one, the entry is going to be shown in user_types views. Now use it like any other data type. I assume that the forum link provided in the above post is the best one to understand.
    Thanks,
    Rahul
