Is it safe for your iphone battery to use your iphone 5 while it's still charging??

so ive heard multiple times from people with pretty much experience at using mobile devices that it's not good for the batteries of your mobile devices to use them whie theyre still charging as doing so can gradually damage the batteries and reduce the overall battery lifetime. Is the claim true tho and does it apply to iphone 5 as well???  will my iphone 5 battery be damaged in the long run if I keep often operating it while it's still charging?? is that action really bad and adverse for the health and condition of the iphone 5 battery and its lifetime?? plz for those who know , clarify all this . THNX

This is no problem at all.
You can use it all you like while it is plugged in.
No effect at all.

  • With iOs 7 and the iPhone can someone use the phone while also using a communication app such as Speak It or Assistive Chat? These are text to speech systems for people who cannot speak well. Thanks you!

With ios 7 and the iPhone can someone use their phone while also using a text to speech app, such as Speak It or Assistive Chat? These apps are used by people who have difficulty with speech production.
    Thank you.

My iPhone 5 wouldn't start after I turned it off a few minutes after writing this. It went into recovery mode and I had no choice but to connect to iTunes on PC and restore.
I restored to factory setting first, just to validate my phone was okay. For a second consecutive iOS update, the  iPhone 5 did not update smoothly while connected to PC and iTunes - I had to retry two times before the progress bar for the update showed. (The exact same problem with the restart occured when I updated to 7.0.4.)
The good news is that I was ultimately able to restore the iPhone 5 to factory settings while running iOS 7.0.6. I did have a backup from about a month ago lying around and was able to successfully restore with that as well, so the damage done is almost negligible since I had my contacts, notes, mail, etc. backed up to iCloud.
Once I completed both restores, the sync with iTunes worked fine.

I doubt the phone is locked to GCI in any way
Well, you're wrong, & in fact not only is it locked, GCI does not offer unlocking for iPhones.
Fact is your post won't help the OP.
And you are 100% sure its locked to them? How can you know this? While GCI does not offer unlocking that does not mean the phone is actually locked to it. Get off your high horse.
Its possible the original owner had an unlocked phone. he was using with GCI. Or that GCI doesn't actually have locked phones. Seeing as they don't even have their own infrastructure but instead use AT&T's I doubt they'd have iPhones specifically locked to them and that would be the reason they do not offer unlocking (because there's nothing for them to unlock). And just to clarify, I'm not saying for a fact its not locked to them. It very well maybe be, but without knowing more about the phone and going by the fact GCI uses AT&T infrastrucure its possible its not locked. But here's no way to say for sure either way.
Trying a Sim card from AT&T or another carrier might just help the OP if its actually unlocked or locked to AT&T rather than GCI.

  • My iPod suddenly stopped reacting to my charge and the battery icon doesn't come up but it still charges and now it won't connect to my iTunes on my computer, help?!

I brought an iPod off eBay, second hand a few weeks ago. The first week I had it everything was working fine. Then suddenly when I plugged it in to charge the battery logo didn't appear, so I left it overnight and it still charged but there was still no logo. And now when I plug it in to connect to my iTunes on my computer, it isn't showing up on the left hand side where it should. I have tried restoring the iPod twice and using different cables and no change was made, what should I do?

  • Undoing iphone wipe via "find my phone" while it is still pending?

I thought i had lost my iphone but found it! I used "find my phone" to delete it, but haven't turned it on yet in case there is a way to save the pictures on there as I hadn't synced the device to save them as yet? I had bought a replacement iphone (4) and used my icloud id to restore it, but the pictures weren't on photstream as yet? PLEASE HELP!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
I'm sorry, but you can't undo this action. The only thing you can do in order to avoid that all your information is deleted from your device is not to connect the phone to the Internet. Doing it, it won't be wiped, so you can connect your phone to your Mac or PC and copy your photos to it

  • Will it be safe for my Mac if I use bootcamp

A year ago, I bought my very first Mac Mini Intel. I downloaded Parallels Desktop just to experience other versions of Windows right on my Mac. I downloaded Windows 7 on it and such, I also went into fullscreen mode to explore. Then ever since I used Parallels Desktop, bad things started happening to my Mac. I kept getting Kernal Panics every while I start my Mac and my whole Mac would just freeze, so I had to restart it. And it was just horrible. Because of this, I had to take my Mac back to the Apple Store. They did a check of my hard drive via disk partition and said it was bad. So they had to get me a replacement Mac Mini which I'm using right now. Ever since I started using the new Mac, everything was working fine. I didn't install Parallels desktop this time because I knew it would give me that Kernal Panic and cause freezes. So now, I'm thinking about using Boot Camp to install Windows Xp, which I want to use for recording gameplay with Fraps. This is a huge risk for me. If my Mac starts getting Kernal Panics again, then i'm doomed. I only have a month of my warranty left before I have no more support. Even though this may sound like a obvious question, I really want to know if this will be safe and cause any issues for my Mac?

There shouldn't be any problems unless you try to write to your OS X volume from Windows instead of to the Windows volume.
Kernel panics in Parallels means a problem with Parallels, not with a Boot Camp made volume nor even with OS X. Of course you should be using the most recent version of Parallels if you are running Snow Leopard.
Oh, and the link I provided includes some other links including information on which Mac models cannot use XP via Boot Camp.

  • I synced my iPhone with iTunes, and it deleted all my music on my computer and my iPhone except for what I'd purchased using the iPhone. The rest of my music is still on my iPad, so how do I get it from my iPad to the computer, and back on my phone?

The rest of my music is still on my iPad, so how do I get it from my iPad to the computer, and back on my phone? All my music is sitting there safely on my iPad, but whenever I try to sync it with my computer the only option I get is to wipe the iPad and replace it with the files on the computer---which is only a fraction of what I had originally. How do I fix this?? It even deleted my playlists, and I now only have some 200 songs left out of what used to be over 1000!

It can not do that all by itself.
When you plugged it in, iTunes said 'Oh goody! You got a new phone! Would you like to make it just like your old phone?'...
    You explicitly said 'Yes'.
    You can't undo that.
No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
Anything you had on the new phone is gone.

  • Once my device has been restored back to its original factory settings, is it safe for a new owner to use?

    Good Morning Apple Support Group,
I just want to a confirm my question as stated above.  It would be a great deal of help to me.  Thank you!
    Warmest Regards,
    Marvin Macaraeg

its not going to blow up on the person if that's what you mean.
Once it has been reset, the device will be as new, with no traces of previous data left. Ther new user can then set it up as his own.  I'm assuming that's what you mean by safe.
Make sure you get everything you need off of the device before resetting, as you won't be able to get anything back once its done.

  • My husband lost his iPhone, can I use my iPhone to find his iPhone?

    Hello

Actually, if he had Find My iPhone activated on his phone and you have the Find My iPhone app on your phone, he could log in with his Apple ID and password used for Find My iPhone on his phone and try to track it that way. He could also use the computer to log into www.icloud.com to try and track it as well. However, if the phone is powered off, or Find My iPhone was not activated, it is not possible.
