Is it safe to manually update job$

Hi,
is it safe to manually change lowner, cowner and powner in the table JOB$ ?
My tests instance are down and I cannot test it actually and I need to run it against our prod database.
Thanks in advance

faster to just update this tableQuick and dirty has never helped to save time, at the end. That always come
back like a boomerang. The trick is to quickly move posts and let some other poor sap catch the boomerang in
the back of the head ;)

  • When to perform Manual update for a job

    Hi Sap Gurus,
I am new SAP-BI Can anyone tell me exactly why do we perform Manual Update for a job  and when to perform Manual Update for a job  and What exactly Manual Update does

    Hi Antony,
In RSMO, BI Monitor you would be seeing several jobs that has been run for the day. In some instances there could be certain jobs that has failed. These could be because of certain packages which have failed to load. In these cases the request need not be set to error and reloaded again. The manual update can be done for those packages so as to save the entire load once again.

  • SQL Developer 1.5 disable manual updates

We are creating an SMS package to push this out to the client desktops since we are trying to wean ourselves off of TOAD.
We don't want users doing any updates to the client via the manual check updates.
There is a check box for disabling auto updates; however, we would also like to disable manual updates.

To completely disable check for updates (remove the UI from the product), you should be able to do:
    AddVMOption -Dide.noextensions=oracle.ide.webupdate
You can also customize the installation by removing the jar file oracle.ide.webupdate.jar from the ide/extensions directory, which has the safe effect.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • PSA - manual update of incorrect packages possible?

    Hello,
I scheduled initialization extraction to data target and PSA in series. Now I saw in monitor that some packages have status "red" or "yellow".
The job is running since three days.
    I have following questions:
How to proceed with this incorrect packages? Via PSA -> "Start the update immediately". Here in data target request have to be deleted. That's not an option.
    What's about option "Simulate update".
I just want to update after job is finised the incorrect packages again.
    Any idea?

    Hi,
Are you getting the option of "manual update" when you right click on the data package??
If your all the packages are loaded succsefully in the PSA??
If yes.... then only they can be updated the individual data packages manually...if not then you will have to start the whole data load again from the PSA.
Just check for the data packages and see if it gives you the option...it will not you give the option for those data packages which are already red...so you may have to do the data loads from PSA again.
But if the data packages are not even in PSA then you may have to start load from the source system.
    Thanks

  • Company Address deleted when update job fails

    Hey guys,
Last night we had an issue with a development system, because of this our IdM wasn't able to run it's nightly update job.
Now before I noticed this in the morning I had an urgent request to create a user but I couldn't create the user because I couldn't find the company address.
Had a look in IdM noticed the update job going wrong, ran it manually and out of the blue (or out of the development system) the company address is back.
Only problem: every single user now does not have a company address assigned to him/her.
So my question is: how is it possible that an update job failing is a reason for idM to remove a company address?
We've had issues where users didn't have a company address before and it gave all types of strange behavior so I'm not looking forward to that type of situation again.

    Hi Srinivas S,
Create the new recurring instances of those reports which having issue. and then check
    it will resolve your issue.

  • Manually update a request

    Hello All,
I am trying to load data from cube to cube.
The amount of data is huge, that is why i have given date ranges and loading the data.
Now, the problem is that in for one of the infopackages, it is taking a long time to load 611646 records, which is not a huge amount.
It seems that the load is not going further after certain data packages have been loaded.
Can i load the other packages manually, as i see an option of "manual update" when i right click that data package.
If yes, kindly let me know the procedure for the same.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Check whether any IDOCs has got stuck in SM58 from ur Source system as well as in BW side. If it got stuck with the status as executed then  try to push the same and check whether ur loads finishes fine.. Also check is there any dumps in the system as well as the dead locks...
And check whether how is ur Source system is loaded as well as ur BW!! as whether u have the proper WP to process ur req or not.!!!
U can also take repeat of the load if none of them are working fine for u after killing the job from the S.S.
    thanks

I'm trying to add a playlist manually to my iPhone 4. It won't let me because it's trying to delete all of the music currently on my iPhone. Is there any way to prevent this from happening in order to start manually updating it?

Are you leaving the box unchecked to Manually manage music & videos? You don't need to to add anything to the iPhone.
Simply drag the playlist to the iPhone to manually add it.

  • Cannot delete songs from iPod when in manual update mode

    Hi
I am using iTunes 7 and i'm trying to delete some songs just from my iPod and i have always used the manual update option.
The problem is when i go into the songs on my iPod and go into a playlist and try to delete the songs within a playlist it won't let me. BUT when i search for those same songs within my iPod library (library shows all songs on the iPod) i can delete them.
So my problem is i cannot delete songs within playlists just from my iPod. I know that deleting the playlist on the left hand side navigation bar will still keep the songs there, it will only delete the actual playlist.
Also when i select a song(s) the edit menu is all greyed out except for copy.
    Can anyone help please.

Try using the key combination Shift-Delete when deleting from a song from a playlist, this will delete it from the library as well.

  • How can I switch from Automatic to Manual update without losing songs?

I have on my ipod songs from another computer, however I'm afraid to plug it into my computer because my computer is set to automatic update for my ipod. Is there a way for me to switch my ipod to manual update without losing songs on my ipod when plugging it in? thanks.

    Here is what you do:
    Open iTunes.
    Plug in your ipod.
hold control and shift at the same time. this stops your ipod from updating automatically. Hold this until your ipod is finished docking.
    Then go to edit>preferences>ipod
then change the setting from update automatically to update manually.

  • Turning back on the "manual update" feature in iTunes

Ok, there's two iPods, mine and my sisters, and we both use the same iTunes. My iPod is set up to update automatically whenever I connect it to the computer and hers is set so that it doesnt automatically update when it's connected, but I just drag and drop certain songs into her iPod.
Now, I tried putting a new video on her iPod and in the videos tab of her iPod in iTunes I clicked on upload all the videos, it wouldnt let me drag on drop.
This has changed the settings on the iPod and now whenever i connect it to the computer it starts updating the iPod with my library.
Is there any way of putting this setting back to the manual update function? As it is im scared to leave it connected for too long because i dont want it to erase songs she has on her iPod that i no longer have on my iTunes.
Cheers people, thanks for any info you can give me.

Just a thought - connect your own ipod, let it sync automatically and then change the itunes sync setting to manual. Maybe that changes the next syncing of your sister's ipod to manual as well?

  • Using a second computer with an ipod set to manual update

I want to prevent my ipod 60GB video which is set to manual update on my G5 from being updated when I plug it into my powerbook. The powerbook assumes the ipod is available for auto update. How do I mount the iPod without iTunes automatically replacing its contents. I can't "preset" iTunes in its preferences to treat the iPod as a manual drive as it just says: "no iPod connected. As soon as I attach the iPod the auto update starts. Are there keystrokes to interrupt the update so I can set the iPod preferences on my Powerbook?
    Thanks

Hold down the ⌥ and ⌘ keys while connecting your iPod. Keep them down until iTunes has opened and your iPod shows in the Source list.

  • Can't manually update shuffle on two computers.

I have my music on two computers. One is my Mac at home; the other is a Windows machine at work (all my own music). My computer at home was originally used to load some songs onto my Suffle. Sometimes I download a podcast at work and want to listen to it on my way home from my Shuffle, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to manually load a single song onto the Shuffle at work without redisignating the work computer as the computer associated with this iPod and erasing all the songs.
Nowhere can I find the "manual update" option that everyone talks about in the software. It just isnt' there!
Of course, I know I'm missing something, which is why I'm posting to the forum.

I think I finally found the answer to my question from reading several other posts on this matter. I've learned that the Shuffle is different than at least some other iPods in that it is NOT able to be loaded with songs from more than one computer. It can only be linked to a single computer, unlike other iPods which actually can be loaded with songs from multiple computers.
At least I feel better, knowing that I wasn't overlooking something that was there.

  • Go from manually update to auto-update without losing songs?

I was trying to delete some podcasts from my ipod, and was following the directions on the help menu which told me to go to preferences and choose manual update, then delete. I tried it, and it didn't work. When I decided to go back to auto update, I received a message that everything on my ipod would be deleted and the update would be just what is on the itunes on that machine. I have more than one computer, and have itunes on each one. There are different songs on each computer. If I go to manually update on this computer, it will erase the songs I've put on from other computers. All this and I still have the unwanted podcasts. Can anyone help me to go back to auto-update without losing songs? If worse comes to worst I guess I'll have to update, lose the songs, and then re-update at my other computers. thanks.

Afraid that's not possible. If you go to auto-update, the iPod gets cleared and replaced with the current contents of the iTunes library.
