I charge my iPad mini and iphone off 2a chargers. In Australia, you cannot buy USB wall chargers less than 12w (iphones, ipad minis, and ipods use 5w). I have experienced no dramas, and neither have any of the customers ive sold 12W chargers too. I say its absolutely fine, but if you wish not to, you can charge it via usb to the computer. But, realistically, if you give your child access to the internet, they will, eventually stumble upon something you might find inappropriate. As with any tool that could potentially be dangerous but that you want your child to learn how to use, proper supervision is key.

If you mean. Settings> General>Restrictions>Allowed Content>Websites, then disable the restrictions and you should be able to do what you want to do.

I've got an iPad Mini running ios 7.1.2.
I've got a Windows laptop running Windows 7 with iTunes 11.3.1.2.
I recorded a video of an interview with my elderly mother which I want to transfer to my laptop for editing and saving for the family.
I'd like to use Sync but Sync scares me every time I look at it that it will start erasing things from one place or another. Looks like the unstated assumption is "Sync" from PC to iDevice, not the direction I want to go.
So, I've done the google searching and haven't found anyone answering this issue but I've found dozens of adds from third party software I can buy to do what apple should provide for as a foundational, basic capability which leads me to think that they have purposefully not given people this capability for some reason. The iPad Mini also doesn't appear in Windows Explorer so I can't find the videos myself.
Anyone have a blessedly simple way I'm just not seeing? Is it safe to use Sync and not lose this precious video forever after it flashes its warning of erasing things?

Okay, I figured out that Windows has "AutoPlay" settings which can automatically download photos and videos from a newly connected device, such as an iPad Mini. I think I could open it in Windows Explorer too that way but the auto download solved my problem.

You can't just reset the passcode. You'll have to restore the device.

If you had a passcode set on your iPad your data should be safe. The thief would have to force it into recovery mode and restore it in order to use it, which would completely erase it.
This shouldn't keep your daughter's device from accessing the iCloud account however. If you can no longer sign into the account on iCloud.com from your computer, contact Apple support for assistance.

Ipad mini some apps no sound

I've tried re-setting my ipad mini. I've tried deleting and reloading the apps that have no sound but nothing seems to work. Do I need to completely wipe the mini and set it up not from back up but as a new ipad to fix this problem?
