Is it safe to remove Photoshop CS5 after installing CS6??

Is it safe to remove Photoshop CS5 after installing CS6??

It is safer to remove it before installing CS6.  There can be some shared elements and/or settings that might be compromised if you install CS6 while CS5 is installed and then remove CS5.

  • Remove Photoshop CS5 before installing CS6?

    Mac OSX 10.7.4
For different reasons i would like to keep Photoshop CS5 AND install Photoshop CS6.
I heard someone say you have to remove CS5 first. Ouch. Just got it tweaked the way I want...
Or is it possible to install Photoshop CS6 and also keep Photoshop CS5 along with the CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection?
(My problem is a really a write-error while trying to save for web in Photoshop CS5. I´ve tried all kinds of solutions from the Adobe forum and other places without luck. Last things I did was to make a new admin account and test it. That worked. Also I tried uninstalling Photoshop CS4 (where save for web acctually worked on my real user account). Still no luck. So now im left with the choice of reinstalling CS4 or installing CS6 to get the save for web dialog working again)
    Inputs appreciated.

    Thank you!
    Edit: Now running both successfully

  • Is it safe to remove Logic 9 after installing Pro X

As the title says - is it safe to remove Logic 9 after installing Pro X? It is really taking up a lot of room on my computer.
Will I lose much (if anything?)???
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

As octopi said, it's hardly worth it....
    But...
Certainly don't use App Zapper...... or anything similar..... you will likely end up having to reinstall LPX and all it's additional content again and end up still using up almost the same amount of disk space in the end.
If you really have to save space, delete any Apple Loops that you feel you wont need and leave the rest, well alone.

  • Can't apply my 3rd party filters anymore in Photoshop CS5 after installing a twain driver

I installed a twain driver (i now realize this was a mistake) in my CS5 for the purpose of scanning within it.  Since doing so, I can no longer apply my topaz filters (or any 3rd party filters for that matter).  The filter interface opens fine, and i can see the filter on my image, however, when I click out of it, nothing is applied to my image.  Help?!?

For a very quick fix, try removing the Adobe TWAIN plug-in or at least disabling it by closing Photoshop and  typing a ~ (that's a tilde ~) in front of its name, then relaunch Photoshop.
That's why Adobe doesn't even include the now-optional TWAIN plug-in as part of the default installation of Photoshop any more.

  • Can't open photoshop cs5 after installing yosemite

I even tried installing Java as suggested but to no avail. I guess I'm going to have to wait for an update from Adobe unless this is some scheme to try to get me to upgrade.
    Thanks for your time,
    Bryan

CS5 predates Yosemite by what is it now, 5 years?  I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for CS5 to be updated since it's no longer supported.

  • Can't get updates to Photoshop CS5 after installing. When I download the updates, i get this.

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.  I have been trying for 2 days and keep getting the same thing. Is there a problem with the download server or what?

Power off your computer. Power up your computer while pressing and holding pressed the option/alt key. When the boot manager appears, select OSX to boot.

  • Can I remove photoshop cs2 after I have upgraded from cs2 to cs5?

Can I remove Photoshop CS2 after I have upgraded from CS2 to CS5?  I upgraded from CS2 to CS5 quite a while ago and I have never removed CS2.  Will it affect CS5 to remove the old CS2 if it was an upgrade?

If I were you I would just delete the installed  Adobe CS2 folder. Adobe CS2 uninstaller my remove settind CS5 made to your system after CS2.   The CS2 uninstaller may try to restore settings to a point in time where there was no Photoshop installed on your system.  If you do a CS un-install you may need to then Install CS5 on top of itself the update cs5 for the install will not have the updates you will be back at CS5 level .

  • Can I remove safely Photoshop CS5 after a successful upgrade to Photoshop CS6?

Can I remove safely Photoshop CS5 after a successful upgrade to Photoshop CS6? What is best and safest way to do this?

If you are using a Windows OS
Open CS5 and go Help > Deactivate.
Then Control Panel > Programs and features > select CS5 and uninstall.
Or just leave it there.  Make sure you have sorted any third party plugins from CS5, although the uninstall should leave them intact.

  • Can I upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS5 after installing Lion?

Can I upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS5 after installing Lion?   Or should I have done it before installing Lion?

I think you are missing my point.
For the last many editions of the creative suite they have each been completely independent. There is no "going over a previous version. Each version stands on its own and is a clean install — as long as you haven't installed that specific version before.
And "obsolete" is a pretty relative term. With products as complex as the creative suite there are often features (or even whole applications) that change between versions. Many people I know keep earlier versions around, just for that very reason.

This messages says (at least some) CC 2014 programs use NEW plugins https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1499663
-so do not uninstall the older CC programs if you use plugins in your programs until you are sure you have plugins that work in CC2014
If you are sure you don't need the old CC programs

  • How to launch photoshop CS5 just installed. Where is the .exe file ?

I think I have achieved the installation of Photoshop CS5 after such a long search, so many failures. I thought that in the end of installation I would have been invited to launch the application. None of it. Now I am looking for the "on" button. Could you help me ?
    Tanks in advance

Thanks a lot. The fact is that I downloaded a trial version of CS5, so that I didn't have to use an activation code - this for you Davellandry Jr.
As an answer to kglad, the icon was the one of the photoshop directory, that is the reason why clicking on it took me back directly to it. I must say that going back to the desk as you advised me, I noticed that this icon had disappeared, because in the meanwhile, I put some order in two successive downloads split in Download directory and programsx86. According again to your advice, I tried unsuccessfully the right click method.
Now I can see no other solution than to contact the customer support.
Nethertheless, I do thank you for your kind assistance.

  • After installing CS6 can I uninstall CS5?  If so, how do I do it?

After installing CS6 can I uninstall CS5?  If so, how do I do it?

This comes up repeatedly, so you may want to do a forum search.
    In a nutshell:
If you wanted to remove CS5, you should have done so before installing CS6.  The CS5 uninstaller is very likely to mess with and destroy the CS6 installation.
Your best bet now is to use the CS6 uninstaller and uninstall CS6 first, then use the CS5 uninstaller to uninstall CS5, then run the Adobe CSClean script (downloadable from the Adobe site), and finally install CS6 again.
All adobe updaters are FULL installers and do not need a previously installed version to work.  When they don't find a prior version installed, they will simply prompt you for the old serial number as well as the new one.

  • Delete CS3/CS5 after installing CC?

Can I safely delete CS3 and CS5 after installing CC? I am worried about memory issues on my iMAC.

    Hi SJCinHKG,
Definitely you can remove CS 3 or CS 5 applications from your machine as you have separate uninstaller for these applications. Please go to control panel and remove CS 3/ CS 5 under Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features  in Windows 7.
If you are using MAC then please got to link below to uninstall adobe CS 5.
