Is it safe to use the new ipad (3rd gen) while on charge
I have the New Ipad (3rd Gen) 32gb wifi onlymodel,, and I use it while on charge i notice that it took way longer to charge while i use... will in not damage the devoce nor the batter if i use it while on charge?
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Protecting cracked ipad screen from further damage with protector
Howdy.... I have an ipad 2. The screen recently developed a spider web-type crack. I honestly have no idea how it happened. I did not drop it. I've been on a number of plane trips recently and noticed it after checking into a hotel. It was in my cabin luggage. Possibly someone dumped something on it in the overhead bin, or it got tossed around??
Anyway, it does still seem to function completely fine. Towards the edge of the screen on one side there is about 1 mm of depression/displacement of the sides of the fracture. Otherwise the cracks are non-displaced. I have no problem using it.
I am in a country with no apple stores. I could submit to an authorized repair place and wait for it to be repaired. However, I am anticipating ipad 3 coming out soon and I am wondering about the option of simply not fixing the screen at all.
I bought an ipad screen protector and put it on the screen under the theory that this might inhibit cracks from propagating further. Anyone have any insight or ideas about this? What happens when you use a cracked ipad screen over time? Does it inevitably get worse?
I am wondering if I can just use it as-is with the screen protector until ipad 3 comes out. The cracks are actually hard to notice during actual use, with the screen on.The glass is laminated structure, the top layer is oleophobic plastic very thin, then there is the sensor and finally the glass. Same for ipad and iphone. See below.
If it works, keep going. Since you plan to buy a new one anyway. A case of 'its broken, but no need to fix it' ! -
Hi All, anyone, or just helpful users,
If ios 5.1.1 on iPad 1 is no longer supported, is the device safe to use for credit card payments?
I know the reasons why Apple no longer update IOS for Ipad 1.
Due to end of life support, no bug fixes for older apps and constant vulnerabilities being exploited, does this now make the device insecure and vulnerable? either information stored on the device or (especially) when making credit card payments through Safari, etc.
Thanks in advance,I would say your biggest issue isn't as much your operating system as it is the network you use your device on. For example the most secure device in the world can be used at McDonalds open wifi and have its info intercepted....and it's not your device's fault rather the connection. Any security program is only as good as its weakest component.
THe iOS operating systems are still very secure because they are highly resistent to viruses and malware....but a user can still click on that 'you won a million dollars' link in an e-mail and hand their personal info over to a hacker.
If you feel you can no longer trust it, then stop using it. But I would say a user's internet connection and behavior are larger security vulnerabilities than any device. -
I thought my pictures was safe in the iCloud, but I was not aware of the 30 days and the 1000 pictures, so I lost quite a lot of pictures... is there any possibilities to find them again? I have only used iphone and ipad.
Not through iCloud, but are they still on your iPad or iPhone? Open Photos, then go to the Albums and see if they are still in the main Camera Roll rather than My Photo Stream. If they are in there, it would be a good idea to sync the devices to a computer so you can store the photos.

Is it safer to use the ipad vs. the computer for paying bills using Wi-Fi?
Is it safe to use an ipad at home within their secured Wi-Fi network to pay bills on the internet vs a regular computer or laptop. I thought I had heard that its more difficult for hackers to hack into apple devices vs regular pcs.
For anyone using a private WiFi (with adequate security), there isn't much difference in terms of the actual transmission. The iOS device is probably more secure from malware or other similar intrusion that a windows machine, so from that standpoint, the statement is probably true. But as Steve points out, the real weak link in this is the actual network.

IPad cable/charger safe to use w/ iPhone?
Is it safe to use the iPad sync cable and charger accessory (the ac adapter, not the one that came with the device) with iPhone or iPod? It would be convenient to not have to have separate cables laying around but I don't want to fry my stuff.
The cables aren't or shouldn't be a problem, but the iPad's charger might be. It is possible to charge an iPad with the wall charger included with the iPhone or iPod, but charging will be slower with the iPad when doing so vs using the wall charger included with the iPad.
Per this link, the Pad's wall charger indicates it is compatible with the iPad. No iPhone or iPod models are included.

Is it safe to use the iPad mains charger for the iPhone too or should I have to take both mains chargers with me when I travel?
Yep. Apple even states it is fine for all iPhone models:

I dropped my iPad mini on the floor, but it was not at all a big drop and landed firmly but the lightning cable inside my iPad cracked and from now on I have been using my sisters iPad charger(the same as old one) and now it take 4 hours to charge 8% HELP!!
It sounds like the drop damage more then just the lightning adapter.
I suggest you take it to Apple and ask them to check it out for you.

You are OK. The fix is not necessary in iOS 5.1.1.

I would like to know is it safe to use my ipad without virus software installed on it
I would lime to know,is it safe to use my ipad to bank and shop without any virus software installed on it.
There is no real functioning Antivirus for iPad because currently there are no viruses that can affect an iPad.
The closed nature of the operating system prevents the Antivirus from installing and running itself, as well as preventing any Antivirus from being able to scan the iPad's file system in search of a virus.
So in short, usage of the iPAd is as safe as you make it.
Like has been said, don't bank in open networks, don't click on links in emails you don't recognize, don't browse sites that look shady or untrustworthy, etc... -
Is it safe to use the ipad with wifi 3g outdoor.
