Is it safe to use the new ipad (3rd gen) while on charge

I have the New Ipad (3rd Gen) 32gb wifi onlymodel,, and I use it while on charge i notice that it took way longer to charge while i use... will in not damage the devoce nor the batter if i use it while on charge?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • Has apple named the the new ipad(3rd gen ipad) ipad with retina display

Has apple named the 3 rd gen ipad ipad with retina display.

The iPad 3rd generation has a retina display, but it was sold for only a few months.  The iPad 4th generation also has a retina display and some of Apple pages refer to it as iPad with retian display. However, most of us in these forums refer to the various iPads as iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3 or iPad 4.

  • Using the new iPad, what's the best way to watch video files (away from home) which are stored on a NAS (WD My Book Live)? Any help would be appreciated!

Before you go, move the files to I tunes and sync them down.  There is no viable way to stream from your nas drive to the pad.

  • I have two iPads. With two functioning iPads. Is it possible (on the same ID) to sync two of them differently with the same account. So I want to use the new iPad for all my current functions. The old iPad for just my music collection?

I have two iPads. With two functioning iPads. Is it possible (on the same ID) to sync two of them differently with the same account. So I want to use the new iPad for all my current functions. The old iPad for just my music collection and remove all the other stuff?

Very easily. I have an iPod touch and iPad on the same account with totally different content.
If you use iTunes, connect each iPad to your computer and open iTunes and deselect any automatic updating/syncing. If you don't sync with iTunes but have them set up independently, under the settings, App Store, turn off automatic downloads for apps, etc.
I'm old fashioned, I set up and sync my iPad and iPod to my computer and iTunes. Each device has a different name  and I manage content manually and only allow sharing on what I want shared.

Do you clean your iPad screen?  Do not use standard window cleaners, with ammonia or alcohol, like Windex, but a damp towel, followed by a micro-fibre cloth is recommended.  There are also cleaners you can buy which are specifically designed for iPad/iPhone devices, such as iClean from Monster.

Is it safe to use the USB port in my car to charge my iPhone 5s or do I need to buy a car charger?

Check car manual to see if it supports charging ,some do not
or use a USB 12 volt plug in for the "cigarrette lighter" socket and plug into that ,probably a better solution

  • What's the best cover for the new iPad (3rd generation).  I've been told by a store employee (university bookstore) that there are problems with the magnetic covers on the newest iPad. Suggestions?

The best cover is the one that suites your needs. Try Google. There are dozens on the market.
As for the Apple Smart Cover, it does work with the new iPad. There are a few reported issues with it, but that doesn't come close to representing the totality of folks with it.

  • Does the new ipad (3rd generation) has the Siri function?

  • IPad 3rd gen no longer charges unless shut off and not recognized by iTunes

iPad 3rd gen no longer charges unless shut off and not recognized by iTunes.  Done 2 resets, used original charger and cable and bought brand new charger and cable from Apple store.  Nothing works.  This started yapping after the iOS 7.1.1 update.

Common troubleshooting is to try a different USB port and to give your ipad a reset. (hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot)
You can also try on a different computer to see if it's the ipad or the computer.
When you charge, do you try to charge plugged into the wall? that's the best way to charge.
If you go through all that and it's still not working hten it may be time to make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out

  • Why is it that my ipad 3rd gen does not charge while connected to my laptop

my ipad 3rd gen will not charge while connected to my laptop, just beside the battery meter it states not charging.

Beacause the USB port of most computers don't supply sufficient current to properly charge it. It is best to charge it using the supplied power supply.

  • May i use the new ipad like a mac mini ? Thank you

With a standard keyboard, a mouse or why not the trackpad, could i connect to one pc monitor ?
You can connect a Bluetooth keyboard to an iPad, but you cannot use a mouse or any other pointing device. You can mirror the iPad's screen to an external monitor, if you need a large screen from time to time.
Beyond that, as the others have said you will need to tell us what you wish to do. The we can offer opinions on how suitable, if at all, we think an iPad would be.

  • Using the new iPad 3 with 4G in Chile, is that possible?

Two years ago I bought a iPad 1 with 3G and I have been using it in Chile with a local provider for the micro SIM and can connect to the web with that provider without problems in 3G. I want to buy in the USA the new iPad 3 with wifi and 4G. I pretend to take it back where I live which is Chile. Is it "compatible" to use it with the same micro SIM from the same provider?

If there is a carrier in Chile offering LTE service on either the 700Mhz or 2.1Ghz frequency bands, then yes, you can get 4G.  If not, you will have to settle for 3G.
The new iPad only supports 4G/LTE on those two frequencies (other countries may still have LTE carriers available, but not offering service on those two particular frequencies).
A couple of SA countries are rolling out trial LTE service in the 700MHz band, but I don't think Chile was listed amongst those?
P.S. the telecom news seems to indicate the carriers in Chile will be using 2.6Ghz for their LTE buildout.

  • New iPad (3rd Gen) crashes ALL THE TIME

So I have been using my new iPad this weekend, and it crashes all the time - the specific programs.  I cannot access simple things like in iBooks and other programs without a crash.  I dont know what to do other than to return it.  I sold my iPad 2 and now wish I didnt.
Is this somehow just my iPad or is this an issue with other people??

I got myself two new iPads, one for me and one for my son (replacing our iPad(s) 2) and I installed tons of apps and other content to both iPads, no issues whatsoever.
Have you used an old backup to install your stuff on your new iPad? If yes, please do a full recovery and install everything again, not from the backup.
If this doesn't work, your iPad must be defective.
The only complaint I have is the slow charging.
