I have upgraded to 4.02 but its givoing me **** lots of trouble so i am planningto down grade it to 4.0 is it save to downgrade ?

So I am looking to save as much money on my cell plan as I can. I am looking to downgrade my data plan from unlimited to the 300 option because I never go over that, or rarely would approach it. So my question is, when I am on 3g and I receive or send a video that I took on the phone/what have you over imessage to a friend that is either on 3g or wifi, do I get dinged against my data usage for the month? Im more concerned about being on the receiving end of a video or two that are large and might push me over the limit, not me sending stuff out so much. So, do videos that get sent over imessage get dinged against my data plan? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it uses your data plan, but not your texting plan (if it's an iMessage). If you are connected to your Wi-Fi, then it does not count towards your data.

I had a two years contract with Verizon, and had a plan consisting of 450 minutes talk, 250 Text Messages, and 2G Data plan.
The main reason I took this service was to use the google maps since I used to get lost easily without it. I check some stats
and I found an average usage of 150 min/month, 100 texts/month and Data usage of 1GB/Month. This rate is the highest I have
reached and it happened over the period of May-October 2013. Now, my 2 years contract is over since September, but I am
unable to find the right person to talk to. I would like to reduce my data plan to minimum, and the same for all the other
features. However, all the people I have talked to so far are just trying to get me to drown myself in another contract, which I don'y
want. Can anyone help me with some prepaid plan, or a way to mange choose the plan that is suitable for me since I
obviously am underusing the phone, and wasting the money that is not easy to get.

Not an agent; but, always looking to save $--- when I first read your question, I thought data only and then you could skype with non apple folks or even look through apps.... iPod touch can be utilized as voice device also... So why not use a phone the same way? Well, I wasn't finding a data plan cheaper and things are pretty vague when looking for the bottom line on here. Anyway, when I started looking.... Page plus kept populating and that was the cheapest I found for you.... Looks like you would have more than you have now and for 1 phone, it looked good. Verizon will probably lock me out now..... Locked out of iPhone. Can't update, access or save anything from my phone.

I was never able to access the cloud becuase of another problem where Apple seems to think I'm using an old email as my apple id. (i'm using gmail these days, and the old email- the one I don't use anymore was for comcast) and I kept getting alerts whenever I tried to use it: texting, net surfing, apps- would be interrupted. The message was of the old email address, and then it would ask for my password. I use the new email for buying things on itunes and what-not, so I would just ignore the alerts involving the comcast email.
To sign into the cloud, it ALWAYS wanted to use my comcast email. So I couldn't get into the cloud. So I was never able to back up my iphone/ save my pictures and videos.
The new update has been out for a few weeks now and I finally get around to updating my phone. (plug my phone into my macbook, itunes up and running) It gets through all the other processes pretty normal. Then a popup on my computer says that it cannot finish the update because of a lack of space. I delete a few albums, make space and try again. Now the screen- when not turned off- is stuck with an icon of the itunes note, and the image of the cord indicating that it is plugged in I suppose. My itunes on my computer is giving me only one option: Restore iPhone. (There's another button that says 'Check for update' but it's not clickable) It also tells me that my software is up to date.
Still, I can't do anything with the phone. Nobody can call me either, it goes straight to voicemail. Aside from deleting everything I've ever had for two years on that phone, HOW do I just use my phone?
Also: I was able to access and start up iCloud account AFTER all of this went down. Previously, because I couldn't get into it, I just didn't bother with it. When I asked a friend for help, they were able to set all that up for me, but the problem with the phone remains, so even though it's finally up and running, I can't access my photos etc to stream.

I wanted to downgrade my phone from iOS 4.0.2 to 3.1.3

can someone tell if there is an official way from apple to downgrade iOS 4 to iOS 3.1.3, if not why ?. I am not really happy with the performance of my 3GS iphone since I have upgraded to iOS 4, apple has replaced my phone with new one, optus has replace a new sim card. still its very slow and get hung some time.

I've attempted to save 2 numbers directly to my phone since turning on the synch with my Outlook contacts via Exchange, and they just disappear. Shouldn't it simply save the number and put it into my Outlook contacts? Or will it only overwrite from Exchange to my iPhone?

What method of syncing are you using? Are you set up for Exchange (ActiveSync) over-the-air or are you syncing using iTunes?
The ActiveSync method works just fine for me. I'm on version 2.2 of the firmware. I just tap Create New Contact for a number and type in a name -- it gets added and syncs with Outlook/Exchange.

HT4623 why cant we be able to save contacts to our phone like every other phone?

When i get a new iphone i loose some cantacts, because you cant save them to the sim card from the iphone, and iknow you can do it throught the computer save them there, but what happens if the computer breaks? I think this should be a feature added to the new update for all iphones.

Becasue this is not a feature of the iphone.
A phone is not the place for all of you info to reside. It should all reside on your computer where you have a complete and regular backup.
The iphone simply allows it to be portable.

You can sync contacts over the air, if you like. I use icloud. All contact I input on my iphone are immediately transferred to icloud and to my computer. I backup my computer regularly. Very simple.
