Is it sensible to update Xperia Z1 to 4.4.2?

I've heard a lot about the advantages of kitkat(4.4.2) version.
Moreover Sony has released a firmware(14.3.A.0.757). So I could easily update my android version from jellybean(4.2.2) to the latest kitkat(4.4.2) version.
But at the same time I've also heard that it has many errors.
Also in my experience, I've installed a jellybean(4.2.2) custom rom in Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos using PC. However I got to know that I couldn't call or use the sms service. Only the thing which was working on sim card was the net.
And this update also requires PC. So I can take the risk only if the kitkat version has such risk taking advantages.
So please tell me should I update it???

If .757 is available for you,you could update.The loudspeaker/earspeaker issue has been fixed.But it is up to you.

Camera app pop up automaticall after ics update xperia s

After Updating to ICS my xperia s camera automatically popping up while i unlock the screen even try to dial a number before i can do any thing the camera application pop up very very upsetting indeed

Please use Pc companion in Repair mode to try to fix the installation:
Run the Pc companion Software
Turn the phone off and disconnect it from the computer
1. No matter what the program says do not connect the phone until you complete step 9
2. In the welcome screen if asked click on start, Next you will be shown what media go offers, click on "next" then you will see a presentation on what support zone offers, click on "Finish"
3. In the next section from "support zone" and "media go" new select "support zone" and click on start.
4. On the next page select "Software update" and click on "start"
At this point if you get an error stating that "unable to install update components" or "server is busy" Please proceed to step 12
5. The program will say that there is no phone connected and will ask you to connect but disregard that and instead choose the option to "repair Phone".(the program will issue you a warning on the content that you will lose during the update)
6. Choose the option to continue.
7. After that, the program will download the necessary information (5 to 6 minutes) and it will present you with a list of phones.
8. Choose the Phone from the list (close to the bottom of the list) click on the icon for the phone and then click on "next"
then you will see a new section telling you how to connect the phone. (don't connect it yet)
At this point the phone must be off and disconnected from the PC.
9. Connect the cable to the PC not to the phone, then follow the instructions on screen to connect the phone, if done correctly the program will say "the update of your phone has started..." (in some cases a message of "Installing drivers" will appear before the message of "the update of your phone has started..." is shown.)
10. If you failed to follow the steps correctly the phone will turn on and it will request that you "Proceed with the following steps, slide down the notification bar", If this happens disconnect the phone from the cable, turn it off and repeat from step 9).
11. If the PC Companion proceeds correctly wait for the update to finish and follow instructions on screen.
Dear customer,
12. If "unable to install update components"
1. Close Pc companion
2. Install Java from: http://www.java.com
3. start Pc companion again and try to do the software unlock process once more.
If this fails let me know, you might need to send the phone in.

The update to Android 4.3 is still being rolled out for Xperia V and depending on where you bought your phone (country and operator) the update may not be available for your phone yet. When the update is available you will get a notification in PC Companion.

ICS update - Xperia GO - performance issues

Hi,
I am from INDIA, I got the ICS update for my Xperia GO and I feel that the performance and the speed of the phone has come down a litte...
I tried stopping some of the apps which are running in the background but still it lags a little.
I am facing this issue after my phone got updated to ICS 4.0.4.
Did anyone whose is having Xperia GO ICS 4.0.4 facing similar issues....?

Same problem.
Games are not fun anymore.
Basic operation on main menu became much slower...
And Sony support sais they are not supporting downgrading, so there is no official way of doing it back!
Ah: and did Update repair... something like 15 times. No result.

Sony bridge won't update xperia mobile on iMac

Hi I have been trying to update my sister's xperia u using Sony Bridge for Mac. Twice I have 'chatted' to Sony online who obviously know little or nothing about Mac. I have disbaled the firewall as the person suggested to no avail. I laso looked to make add Sony Bridge to the exceptions in firewall but can't find it (not an approved Apple App?). Any suggestions

Stuck in Software Update Xperia Z

I have an Xperia Z. Went on to the computer to upload my Nieces's wedding video for her when PC Companion took over and said I needed to update. Said yes, update did not complete and now I cannot get into my Tablet as when I turn it on it says update incomplete please reattach to computer. I have reloaded software on different computers but it still won't clear. I have spoken to SONY HELPLINE which offered no solution but kept me on the phone for 30 mins. Can anyone help?

How to "manually" update Xperia S LT26i 2.3.7 build number 6.0.A.3.67, 73, .75 & .76

Hi,
I would like to be able to update my phone's software from Android version 2.3.7 to the newest Jellybean update. However, when I go to the update centre on both my phone and laptop software it tells me that my phone already has the latest available application updates and system updates. I've read that Jellybean was released for this phone model (Xperia S, LT26i, 6.0.A.3.62) in 2013, so I'm curious as to why it won't find an update for my phone? I would really appreciate any help in this issue. Network is Vodafone Ireland, if relevant.

Problems on software update - Xperia Arc

I own a Xperia Arc Lt15 and it's stuck on 2.3.4
I checked the Sony website and it says the latest software is 4.1.B.0.587 released on 8/16/2013
Is there any way to upgrade to Android 4.0?
Any help is appreciated.

Problem during Update Xperia E1 Please help

I was trying to update my phone today
when I was doing it said there was an error and it was not able to
it gave me the option to retry which i did and it told me it could not access the internet
the internet was and is working but it would not work
so i tried to restore my old system when it said it couldnt connect to my phone

Nervous about losing personal data when updating Xperia X10 to 3.0

I want to download 3.0.1.6.0.75 to my Xperia X10 that currently has 2.1.1.A.0.6 but I am worried about losing my personal data. I have already used Backup and Restore to create a backup of my data but when I go to PC Companion on my home computer, it tells me
Personal data such as contacts, messages.... saved in the phone memory will be overwritten..."
Could you please give me ALL the steps I need to do to ensure I do not lose my personal data when updating to 3.0.? The last time I updated my phone about 5 months ago there were good step by step instructions to follow but now I cannot find them on your website.

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already
open your phonebook
press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email
on your computer
-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

try to update my phone "xperia x10i" but some thing wrong with softwere updater
when i try to select my phone in menu before update its automaticaly select xperia x10 (so-01b) its a japan version but i need to install normal version, i cant select "xperia x10" its near that but when i click on it, again its auto return to "xperia x10 (so-01b).

The availability of an update for your phone depends on the region and carrier. Also, you should try updating using PC Companion or Sony Update Service, as the update is too large to be performed over the air.
