Is it so hard to eject the sim card tray

I just ordered a 3G iPhone, so quite happy with it, but I found it was so hard to eject the tray with the eject pin came with it and I also tried with the paper clip, I finally gave up after trying for more than 30 minutes.
Am I looking stupid I have a 2G iPhone and have ejected many friends' iPhones with no problem.
Anyone has the same problem?
I am disappointed that I have to send it back to AppleStore.

In Hong Kong, we do not have the Apple Store's Genius Bar. As I ordered it online, the only thing I can do is to return it. It takes 2 days for them to pick up and another 5-7 days for deliver a new one. But if I order online, it would only take 24 hours.
We do travel a lot overseas or mainland China, it is better for us to replace our original sim card with the domestic one. By the way, the 3G iPhone selling from Apple Store (online) or Apple authorized ship in Hong Kong - are not sim locked.

Use the end of a straightened paper clip. Insert into the SIM Tray hole and push very firmly and the SIM Tray will begin to come out. Once started just remove completely with your fingers.
If still problem, you can easily pull the SIM Tray out with pin tip bent into a small hook or letter L shape, carefully use tweezers or other device to bend the pin tip. Put this into the SIM Tray hole only a mm (millimeter) deep. Get the bent tip to catch and just begin to pull the SIM Tray out. Then use your fingers and pull the tray out completely.

  • Nano-simcard stuck in the sim-card tray :(

I've gotten a nano-sim stuck in the sim-card tray. Is there any way to get it out?

    Hi Klingenberg,
The best thing that we can suggest you to do is to bring the phone to the nearest Nokia Care Center. They will be able to help you physically in removing the SIM stuck on the SIM card tray and avoid further physical damage on it.

  • The sim card tray is lost.

  • Can I retrieve data from my iPhone 4 hard drive without the SIM card?

Can I retreive data from my iPhone 4 hard drive without the sim?

There is no hard drive in an iPhone, it is all solid state memory. If the phone is working you can always copy content from it. If it is not you will need to restore and activate it, and that requires a SIM card.

If your iPad does not look like this on the side, you have the Wi-Fi only iPad.

Have you looked in the little white booklet that sits just underneath the phone as you open the box. If you open the booklet cover you will see the pin.

  • IPhone no longer recognizes the sim card in it although iTunes recognizes

the iPhone...I used the iPhone yesterday and I have NOT messed with the sim card but when I turned it on tonite, it says in the upper L corner = No Sim Card = it does see the Wireless netwrok
    what do I do???

If a reset, as suggested, does not work, most of the time you can fix this by removing and reseating the SIM card.
    1. Turn the iPhone off (hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears, then slide it to turn off the phone.
    2. Eject the SIM card tray (insert a small paper clip or safety pin into the tiny hole next to the headphone jack, push down firmly to make the tray pop out, then remove it from the phone).
    3. Pop the SIM card out and then reseat it in the tray. Reinstall the tray in the phone.
    4. Turn the phone on.
If this does not fix it, you either have a SIM card that went bad or a problem with the SIM reader. The next step would be to go to the AT&T store to get a new SIM card.
If you still have the problem with the new SIM, you need to have the phone serviced by Apple.

  • How do I open to put the SIM card on the iPhone 5

I just got the iphone5 and how to I insert the sim because it is asking to insert one

The manual doesn't do a very good job of explaining. The poor girl that asked the original question was the one who got treated rude. The "duh" is implied. The response is easily read, "Duh! Read the manual!" All the manual says is "Insert the end of a small paper clip or SIM eject tool into the hole on the SIM card tray". It doesn't say "push straight in firmly until the tray containing the SIM card pops out". I (and I assume many others) was left to wonder how hard to push, if the clip should be used to pull it back out, if the clip should be moved one way or another and whether there was a door to open or if something was going to pop out. I think a simple, kind answer that explained "how" would have been much more helpful than simply stating the obvious, thus suggesting she wasn't smart enough to know what should be obvious. If you want to answer people in a way that makes them feel stupid, then you need to be able to take some constructive criticism.

  • Will apple replace my SIM card tray on the spot

HI everyone! Please help me. I Lost the SIM card tray in my iPhone 4 and I need to know if I go to the apple store in Cardiff will they replace it there?

If they have one sitting around(unlikely), perhaps. But, Apple does not sell iPhone parts, or stock iPhone parts. I suspect you'll need to look on eBay or similar to try & find one.

  • How to insert the sim card

How do you insert the sim card to iPhone 4

On the side of the phone, you should see a little slot that you can see in this picture:
Place a bent paperclip or sim card removal tool if you have one into that black hole and the sim card tray should pop out. You can then insert a new sim.

  • Will swapping the SIM card once every day damage t...

I have this data dongle with a removable SIM card. Keep it plugged into the laptop all day long. At night, surfing the web is more convenient on the E7 than the laptop, and so I regularly turn off the E7, and replace the SIM card with the one I have in the dongle (haven't subscrived for a data plan on the SIM i use in the phone, cause i always have this laptop with me and paying for two data connections is an overkill, just need it for like 30 mins every night before I fall asleep). Don't really care about the dongle, i will throw it away if it breaks, it's not that expensive. But will removing the SIM card from the phone once every day damage the SIM card tray on the E7? Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

well, looks like investing in a separate data plan is better than 'abusing' a wonderful device. I love my E7. It's a gem of a device. The best Nokia smartphone I've ever owned (and believe me, I've owned a lot of them )
Thanks for your replies everyone, i will subscribe to a separate data plan for the SIM i use in the phone.
    Nokia is the best. \m/

  • Will Apple replace my iPhone 3GS out of warranty due to accidental liquid exposure and a broken sim card tray?

Like many people, my iPhone 3GS was recently exposed to liquid and the phone immediately died. The sim card was not exposed to direct liquid and I was able to get it out; however, the sim card tray was siezed up and would not eject, so when removing the sim card, the tray broke. I have filed an out of warranty claim to get it replaced; however, upon reading some of their disclaimers, I noticed that Apple has a section where they won't replace a phone exposed to liquid damage.
I have read various posts on these forums that say they will however. I am curious if I should send my phone off to get replaced...or if doing so would be a waste of money and time. There is a clause that says they can choose to not replace the phone and still bill you for time to examine the phone.
    Please help.

Out of warranty replacements cover just that and also accidental damage if in warranty
as long as iPhone isn't in many pieces
In US the cost is $149 for a 3G /GS /4 and $199 for a 4S other countries similar in local currency
