Is it still possible to purchase iPhoto 9.1 in order to upgrade to 9.4.3?
Hello, I have three Macs. Both my 2008 Mac Pro Laptop and 2010 3.2 Quad Core Xeon Tower have iLife. I believe both have it preinstalled. My third Mac does not have it preinstalled, and I cannot find the restore disks to make sure. I would like to put iphoto on it, and I don't have a problem purchasing it again, but what I want to do do is run the older 9.4.3 version of iphoto. I don't want to upgrade my system to 10.9 because im running an older version of Quickbooks and Quicken on it. 10.7.5 is fine for now.
Is it still possible to purchase iPhoto 9.1 so that I can upgrade it to 9.4.3. (I downloaded the upgrade, but naturally it won't work yet) The third Mac is a 2.66 dual core intel xeon. The app store says 9.1 is no longer available.. only 9.5 which I cannot run on 10.7.5
Any advice would be appreciated, and I'll continue to search for the elusive system disks.
The iLife 11 disk installs iPhoto 9.0. From there you can update to 9.1 with this updater: iPhoto 9.1

I am so frustrated right now.
I will not have access to my own laptop for a few months, so I am limited to using a shared family computer. Both computers are MacBook Pros running OS X 10.6.8. I have Lightroom 4 installed on my own laptop, and a catalog of about 95,000 photos, configured for LR 4, stored on external hard drives. (I purchased LR 4 as a download through Amazon, but because they originally charged the wrong credit card, they let me keep the downloaded software, and removed the charge from my card altogether. As a result, Lightroom is not included in my Amazon Software Library, so I do not have a serial number or product key, and cannot access the software from other computers.)
Here's my problem: While I would love to upgrade to LR 5, I cannot upgrade the OS of the family computer (never mind why; suffice it to say that it's just not an option.) Therefore, it is my understanding that I cannot install Lightroom 5 or the current Creative Cloud package, which both require OS X 10.7 or later.
What I really want to do is install and use Lightroom 4 on the family computer. In fact, I have managed to download and install LR 4 on this computer, BUT, in order to actually use the software, I need to provide a serial number. I would GLADLY pay Adobe for a serial number. I would happily pay full price!!! However, for reasons I cannot fathom, this seems to be impossible.
WHY won't Adobe let me buy the product I want, the product that will work with the machines I am using??? Am I missing something? Is there some way that I can still purchase a serial number for Lightroom 4??
ADOBE-- I LOVE LIGHTROOM AND I REALLY WANT TO GIVE YOU MY MONEY!! But it seems that Lightroom 4 is completely unavailable, and Lightroom 5 is incompatible with the not-very-old computers that I am using. Can anyone help?? Is there a solution to this modern-day conundrum?
Thank you.Adobe doesn't sell Lightroom 4 anymore. If you can find another source that has it available you could buy it from there. Amazon and other online resources would be a good place to look.

can't open my photo library after upgrading to iphoto 11. Is it possible to download iphoto 9.0.1 after installing '11. Have followed all the other instructions and am in a loop which doesn't allow me to access iphoto or my photos.
when iphoto wouldnt open we read the trouble shooting info and it said that we may have needed to download 9.0.1 if we had an older version. We obviously didn't download it before the upgrade and wondered if it would cause problems or indeed solve the problem if we downloaded it now!
When we try to open iphoto is says:
To open your library with this version of iphoto it first needs to be prepared
To prepare the library use the iphoto library upgrader available from Apple.
We have downloaded this twice now and it still sends us this message when we try to open iphoto. -
Is it possible to have two (or more) different icloud mail accounts (not alias) under the same apple id? If not what is you best advice for all family members to have their own e-mail and still share the purchases under the same apple id. Thanks

There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that. You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.

If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important. -
Organizing Albums in Folders still possible in iPhoto '08?

I still have to upgrade to iPhoto '08 but there is one thing that puts me off: when watching the online tutorial it seems that you can't add folders anymore in iPhoto '08 and subsequently can't organize albums in diffferent folders, which is what i need, however.
Can anyone of you who already use the software tell me whether the use of folders is still possible in iPhoto '08 or not?

I just installed iLife '08 and finished upgrading. I can put albums in folders just fine. New Folder is in the File menu. Something feels simpler but I can't put my finger on it. Anyhow, the categories (in caps) do fold up if you click the triangles. This should be useful indeed. -
RE: is it possible to purchase only IPHOTO
My Imac crashed a few weeks ago, the apple support re-installed most ILife applications except for Iphoto. Is it possible to only purchase IPhoto? I heard ILife11, has more bugs than improvements, hence wanted to try to avoid it. Thanks
you are right about single ilife apps in the MacAppstore : garageband,iphoto,imovie. But no iweb nor idvd there.
The OP has also to be on OS 10.6.6 minimum to access the AppStore and be able to load items to the OS. But on the other hand 10.6.x is also the requirement for all ilife '11 apps.
If iphoto is to limited and OP is looking into advanced features,version control, photoshop-like 3rd party plugins, flickr and facebook dual way syncing and extended tagging facilities he should look into the Semi-Pro app from Apple called "Aperture". it is iphoto on steroids and comparable with solutions like Adobe Lightroom. It has the "faces and places" features, can handle iphoto libraries, supports more then one library, adds ilife media browser support for imovie and garageband plus all the above and many more. Available retail, Apple Store or single app also from Mac AppStore ( drastically cheaper there ). -
Before, I was able to transfer Album Cover Art from on-line sources to albums that iTunes didn't have (even tho several were purchased thru them!) now I can't. If it is still possible, how do I do so?

Is it still possible to upgrade CPU on a G4 400MHz Titanium Powerbook?
I have a Titanium PowerBook G4 model (M7952) with a 17 inch screen, originally purchased in 2001. Over recent years I have successfully upgraded the hard drive to 128GB and the memory to 1GB SDRAM.
However, I have recently purchased Leopard and attempted to upgrade the system without first checking -and subsequently discovering - that my CPU speed is inadequate (currently only 400MHz, wheras required minimum for Leopard is 867MHz).
If anyone can advise me whether it is still possible to upgrade the processor on this particular model to the required specification for running Leopard - my initial searches have appeared to indicate this may not be possible - I would be very grateful.

Even if it is possible, you won't be improving the system bus of the machine, so there will always be a bottleneck. Also software updates may not perform right, as the system is really only designed for built-in processor 867 Mhz or higher G4s, and not upgraded CPUs. Upgrade CPU support has to come entirely from the CPU vendor that supplies the upgrade for firmware updates, and compatibility. Essentially you will be creating yourself a jalopy. 10.4.11 is the max that will ron a 400 Mhz G4 reliably. -
When I try to open the iphoto it keeps on asking for the software update, but when I click on the software update it says that all the software in the computer are up to date. I still cant open the iphoto, what should I do?
How old is your Mac? If it's very recent you need to update via the App Store
If you purchased at the App Store you need to update via the App Store
Otherwise you update via Softare Update
If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.
If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

Disk utility can't repair this disk.... Is it still possible to back up my files?
I was just on Word earlier and the mac crashed, I restarted it and it wouldn't load past the grey screen. I then used my install disc to go into disk utility, where it tried to verify and repair my Macintosh HD but failed to do both. I don't know what's cause this but more importantly I need to know where it's still possible to back up my files without having to purchase Disk Warrior. If I was to take it to the Apple store, what would they suggest?
I don't know what my operating system is, I recently did a system update last week I believe if that means anything?

It's peculiar how it says Disk Ultility can't repair the drive but to try and back up your files...when it's actually impossible to do so without any software. I'm assuming things like creating a new image etc. won't help at all.
I'm hoping the Apple Store people will be able to help me out, I've heard DiskWarrior is good so I may check that out. -

Still possible to share folio with an iPad to view, without publishing?

Is it still possible to share a folio from the folio builder panel in InDesign, so that it can be downloaded to one device (iPad) for viewing/testing or is this info out of date? Do I really have to go through all the IOS developer certs and purchasing one single serial number hoopla just to view on a single iPad?

I was just wondering if it were at all possible to purchase songs via an Internet browser, and then download them at a later time using the iTunes application.
I currently do not have my own Internet connection as I am out of town for a couple weeks, but would like to get new music. The only places I can find in this town that has Internet connection are some small cafes with free wireless Internet. However, the connections are problematic; in this case, it takes a long time (between 15 and 20 minutes) to search for one song, add it to the Shopping Cart, then buy it successfully. However, I can download songs very quickly. I am currently on a wired connection (not my laptop), and this connection is fine, so I was hoping I could purchase songs and then just download them using my laptop on a wireless connection.

Victor Lywhy would you want to risk your account info on a connection at a cafe somewhere on the street? and why would you wanna buy the songs now and download them later? ....... the songs are always there, they are not going anywhere. you can still buy and download them when you think the conenction is safe and fast.... also, you can not buy songs from IE and download them from itunes, you have to buy them from itunes in order to download them in itunes ............ you can still buy songs many places on the internet from IE, but you can not download them in itunes .... they are seperate.
you can import songs into itunes tho ... if you already have them on your computer, yes you can use the add files to library in itunes. -

All installed applications, such as the one installed on your other machine show deliberately truncated serial numbers for obvious reason.
