  • How many concurrent connections does WSA S670 appliance support.

    Hi All,
    Good Day!
    We have an issue with our Ironport WSA S670 appliance. We have around 35K users and have access to sites like facebook.com, youtube.com etc.
    The issues is that at times certain sites are not accessible via proxy. For example we cannot access youtube.com, google.com etc while we can access msn.com, espn.com etc. Moreover when we try to bypass the proxy and access the sites directly all the sites works just fine.
    This issue has been repeating many times and we checked the internet link, proxy etc for any issue. In the meantime the issue gets resolved mysteriously.
    The total number of connections at these times are more than 20K. The CPU utilization never goes beyond 15% but the memory is always between 70 to 90% utilized.
    What is the maximum number of connections WSA S670 appliance support? Is there any configurable limit for the connections that can be established? Will it cause any issue if a lot of users are watching videos on youtube.
    Also the proxy is working in one-armed design. Will that cause any issue?
    Please suggest.
    Cheers,
    Faiz

    Hi Faiz,
    There are not any known issues in terms of URLs failing. I would perform a packet capture on the WSA. See my instructions below:
    In order to obtain a simultaneous packet capture from the WSA & PC you will need to log into the GUI ->Support and Help -> Packet Capture -> Edit Settings -> Select the radial button No Filter.Please send me a packet capture from the WSA unfiltered. You will need to install wireshark on the PC or laptop you are testing from. It is a good idea to start the wireshark program from the PC first.  I would recommend using www.iana.org as a test as it uses only on IP address.
    When you have the captures completed I would first look at the WSA packet capture and use the following filter in wireshark http contains "www.iana.org". The various streams of communication will populate in the wireshark display. What you want to focus on is the streams that show the IP of the WSA and the IP of www.iana.org 192.0.32.8. We should see the following when you right mouse click the packet which shows the IP of the WSA going to the destination IP of www.iana.org:
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP <--SYN/ACK-- www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------ACK-----> www.iana.org IP
    If you see this instead:
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    Then you have a problem in your network.
    Sincerely,
    Erik Kaiser

  • No Media Transfer Protocol ("MTP") on Clip Jam ? Coming soon?

    I notice that my new Clip Jam doesn't seem to support the 'MTP' (Media Transfer Protocol) - whereas I believe older Clip models used to ? Is this something that will be introduced by a Firmware Upgrade at some point ? My current Firmware is '1.03' which I believe is the latest at the time of writing [July 2015]. Cheers John

    No, the clip jam and sport are MSC only devices. MTP is not supported and cannot be added in FW. it is a hardware limitation.

  • Is there any way to use a file transfer protocol to upload files to icloud?

    Is there any way to use a file transfer protocol to upload files to icloud?

    Unfortunately, no.
    You will need a 3rd party web host to upload your websites to. Depending on the version of iWeb you are using you have a couple of publishing options:
    iWeb ’09 (3.0.4) you can publish to an FTP Server or a local folder. ( With the built in FTP in iWeb you will end up with an address like “www.YourDomain.com/sitename/Home.html )
    iWeb ’08 you can publish your website to a local folder
    Basically all Web Hosting companies are iWeb-compatible.
    If you’re looking for a good hosting I would recommend IX Web Hosting I have been using them to host my own websites for several years now and that their customer support is awesome too.

  • Data transfer protocols

    Hi all !
    I can't find the information about:
    1) What data transfer protocols used in client-server SBO;
    2) What is the recommended width of the channel;
    3) What ports are used.
    could anybody help me? Thanks.

    Hi,
    Welcome to B1 forum.  It sounds like you are new to B1.  There is no protocol for data transfer in B1.  Instead, there is DTW tool.  You may check within forum to find many discussions about this tool and the use cases
    Thanks,

    This should be considered a temporary fix. It will saturate your Internet connection during periods of WSUS downloads in this configuration.
    The correct and permanent fix should be to resolve the failure of your perimeter device to properly support the HTTP v1.1 protocol specification (which is now some 14 years old).
    Either your device is misconfigured, or it needs a firmware update to support the full specification.

  • Error 404--Not Found From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

    I installed 9.1 HCM with peopletools 8.52.
    Everything was working fine - I sat up the process schedulers and reports were posting ,I built few pages ,menu etc and registered them and inserted data etc.
    Then I decided to setup the Integration broker.
    First I ran datamover script - appmsgourgeall.dml to clear the application messaging queue.
    and I renamed the local node from PSFT_HR to YACINE_PC_HCM
    and I configured the gateway
    http://yacine-pc:8000/PSIGW/PeopleSoftListeningConnector
    and the status was active.
    then loaded the connectors successfully.
    In the final step I went to the gateway propreties and I put the app server url //yacine-pc:9000.
    user name:PS and pass:PS etc
    and added the new node name - I clicked on Ping and it failed but I saved it anyway.
    and from there the PIA stopped working .
    I restarted the app server the PIA and I even reinstalled the PIA but it always gives me the same error
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

    For the record
    I did fix this error shortly after posting this Thread.
    I edited integrationgateway.propreties and I removed the node definition then I redid the setup of the node by adding authentication to it.

  • NIO Network File Transfer Seriously Underperforming

    I've written a networked collaboration tool that implements client/server file transfer, and exhausted every NIO I/O option I can think of, yet my file transfers continue to run quite slowly on a 100-BT LAN.
    All SocketChannels are set to NON-BLOCKING mode. I started with FIleChannels and ByteBuffers using the following server code:
    // file transfer is running in its own thread
    File = new File(filePath);
    RandomAccessFile inputFile = new RandomAccessFile(file, "r");
    FileChannel fileChannel = inputFile.getChannel();
    ByteBuffer bb = ByteBuffer.allocateDirect(8192);
    int bytesRead = 0;
    while( fileChannel.read(bb) != -1 ){
         bb.flip();
         channel.write(bb);   // channel is the client SocketChannel
         bb.compact();
         Thread.sleep(20);
    }The client side code is basically the same. This implementation transfers to the client at about 500k/second. Next I tried using a MappedByteBuffer to map the file into memory on the server:
    File = new File(filePath);
    RandomAccessFile inputFile = new RandomAccessFile(file, "r");
    FileChannel fileChannel = inputFile.getChannel();
    MappedByteBuffer mbb = fileChannel.map(FileChannel.MapMode.READ_ONLY, 0, fileChannel.size());
    while( mbb.remaining() > 0 ){
         channel.write(mbb);   // channel is the client SocketChannel
         Thread.sleep(20);
    }The MappedByteBuffer actually works quickly, but only for small files. I can transfer an MP3 file in less than one second. This is the kind of performance I'm looking for. I can get 100-BT speeds on 10 or 20MB files. However, if I attempt to transfer a large file (500MB) using this method, I get the following exception calling channel.write(mbb):
    java.io.IOException: An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full
    I'm assuming this is because the call is attempting to write far too many bytes to the client SocketChannel, but I thought SocketChannel.write() would only write as many bytes as possible to a non-blocking SocketChannel, so I'm a bit confused as to why it would overflow the SocketChannel's buffer.
    I tried one more implementation, using FileChannel.transferFrom and TransferTo. Here's the code on the server side:
    File = new File(filePath);
    RandomAccessFile inputFile = new RandomAccessFile(file, "r");
    FileChannel fileChannel = inputFile.getChannel();
    long written = 0;
    long fileSize = fileChannel.size();
    while( (written += fileChannel.transferTo(written, 8192, channel)) < fileSize ){
         Thread.sleep(20);
    }This performs slightly faster than the first implementation using FileChannel and ByteBuffer, but only by 1MB/second or so on LAN. I changed the code to
    fileChannel.transferTo(written, fileSize, channel)But I get the same exception during runtime:
    java.io.IOException: An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full
    So... I'm lost as to how to get acceptable LAN performance on a network file transfer. If the MappedByteBuffer implementation didn't throw an exception, then I'd be set. But I have no idea what is causing the exception and cannot locate any information on it.
    Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!

    A point of interest? When you tried the
    fileChannel.transferTo(written, fileSize, channel)
    and got the IOException (buffer too small etc) where you using non-blocking IO? If so try it with the Socket
    Channel set to Blocking mode (might help to narrow down the problem)
    Also have you checked the CPU usage of your program when its transfering data?
    as pkwooster said it could also be an issue with diskIO. There are many free apps on the net that will
    measure the throughput your hardisk can sustain.

  • Does LabView support RS232 Z-Modem Protocols?

    There is the possibility to send Files with z-modem transfer protocol via the hyper-terminal. Is it also possible to do the same thing with LabView?
    Thanks for answers.

    Hello Suttema
    I think Labview does not support zmodem directly. You will have to use a dll or an Antivex.
    The one from adontec (www.adontec.com) looks interesting. You can google for more.
    Hope it helps

  • Facebook support in new viewer

    We are now testing Facebook support in new custom viewer with web-viewer for social sharing.
    I've configured Facebook app per guide prepared by Adobe
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/setting-dps-app-social-networking.html
    As far as i can say, it's configured correctly, but...
    However newly created custom viewer with support for this Facebook app will just jump to native Facebook application on iPad, than back and nothing happens. I REALY would need to find out where the problem is... Is there any way?

    i've installed Facebook iOS app after our custom viewer.
    With web i'm facing quite strange problem - page appears on some arabic language, even when i'm logged in to Facebook in Safari with standard czech interface.
    See  URL which is passed to Safari - it behaves same on my desktop Safari, so i belive that it's "feature" of URL - or my app setting.

  • HELP...HOW DO I TURN ON MEDIA TRANSFER PROTOCOL

    I recently purchased the 8350i smartphone, and am trying to download subscription songs from Rhapsody.  I am being told by Rhapsody that I need to turn on media transfer protocol.  I went to options/memory and mtp is not located there.  How do I turn on media transfer protocol?

    It would be at Options > Media Card.

  • Error message: "FireWire connections are not supported.  To transfer songs"

    I recently purchased a Monster iCarPlay to play my ipod in my car. I have had no problems until recently. Upon disconnecting my ipod from the iCarPlay wire, I the following message popped up: "FireWire connections are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided." It also prompts me to click the center button to dismiss the message. However, I'vd followed these instructions, and the message does not go away. Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this problem? Or is it anything to worry about?

    That is the message you see when you attach a 5th gen iPod to a computer using FIREWIRE. so... i suspect that for some reason, the 3rd party iCarPlay device must be confusing the iPod into thinking it is being docked or attached to a data line of some type and not simply charging.
    As for the sudden occurrence of the message, it does seem strange however, keep in mind that you are using a 3rd party device that may not be supported or endorsed by Apple at all.

  • Is it possible to upgrade an old PB G4 to support a new iTouch?

    Is it possible to upgrade an old PB G4 to support a new iTouch?
    I understand I can upgrade the RAM and upgrade the internal drive.  But I don't know if that is sufficient to run a newer version OS...which ever that might be.  I think the newer ones need a dual core intel chip to run?  I plan to give my daughter a new iTouch but since I already have maxed out devices on my laptop, I thought I would just update my old PowerBook G4.

    No. The current iPod touch models require Mac OS X 10.6.8, which requires an Intel Mac.

    While navigating from one dashboard page to another this error is encountered or we get kicked out of the session and need to log back in.

    Thanks Srini.
    They issue we are facing is not post-installation specific. The environment functions fine but when we navigate dashboard pages, then this error pops up. It is intermittent and applicable to certain dashboards and reports. Not sure if you have ever encountered the dashboard/ report design causing this?
