Is it time for new iso image?

As I remember ArchLinux goal was to make one iso for one kernel.
So what happened?
There is no new iso announced for quite long time.
I know there is no big need for new iso's but if ArchLinux wants to be popular it has to hit news sometimes?

that seeming a real official like statement with a very concrete timeframe i just went ahead and did and ftp-install. Unlike other people stated I did not encouter any trouble whatsoever, I just hope that doing an ftp -install does not cause any fragmentation on my fileystemen, i.e. I have no clue where it puts and deletes the downloaded stuff from before install, i can imagine that this is less of a problem from the .iso.

  • How to Set A Default Start Time For New Events In Calendar?

    How to Set A Default Start Time For New Events In Calendar?

    John,
    Thanks for that suggestion - could not get it to work. However, I did manage a different approach. I finally determined the sequence of events in terms of how the various events and listeners fire (I think).
    Basically, the CalendarActivityListener fires, followed by the listener associated with the Calendar object's Create facet, followed finally by the CalendarEventListener - the final is where the TriggerEvent is available and then finally, control is passed to the popup/dialog in the Create facet. So, my approach of trying to set/get the TriggerDate in the user's HTTP session was doomed to failure because it was being get before it had been set :(
    Anyway, I ended up adding a bit of code to the CalendarEvent listener - it grabs the current BindingContext, navigates through the DCBindingContainer to derive an Iterator for the ViewObject which drives the calendar and then grabs the currently active row. I then do a few tests to make sure we're working with a "new" row because I don't want to alter start & end dates associated with an existing calendar entry and then I define the Start and End dates to be the Trigger Date.
    Works just fine. Snippet from the listener follows
    BindingContext bindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();+
    *if ( bindingContext != null )    {*+
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer) bindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();+
    DCIteratorBinding iterator = dcBindings.findIteratorBinding("EventsView1Iterator");+
    Row currentRow = iterator.getCurrentRow();+
    if ( currentRow.getAttribute("StartDate") == null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("StartDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    if (currentRow.getAttribute("EndDate")==null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("EndDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    *}*

  • Default duration time for importing still images

    Hello all,
    Is there an easy way to change the default duration time for imported still images?
    I have thousands of images that I want to import to make a time elapsed movie. I would like for these images to have a duration of less than a second. I could do this individually, but it would take forever.
    Can the default duration time for imported images be changed?
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi
    Too long time I made anything serious in iMovie HD6 (altough a a very competent editor)
    (Took the FinalCut leap)
    As I remember (just tested) it - if photos are imported then it's a tedious labor
    to set duration - one at a time. No global function I can induce.
    BUT - I would put my photos into a separate folder in iPhoto so that they are easy
    to get in iMovie from audio/photo browser.
    Then I select (in iMovie) the first photo and double click on it to view it on canvas.
    Now I also get a small gray window where I can set size and duration.
    I select 01:00 (1 sec) in duration and Apply/Use.
    Then I selec the rest of the photos and drag them down to TimeLine after first
    photo. And they also get same duration of 01:00.

  • Mac software for editing .iso images?

    All --
    Call me blind, but I have been searching Google for a fair amount of time and cannot come up with a single software title for the Mac that allows .iso image editing. (Editing = the ability to open and add/remove files from the iso, and then re-burn it.) Windows users have programs like MagicISO (http://www.magiciso.com/) but there doesn't seem to be a Mac equivalent.
    Can anyone offer a suggestion?
    Now, in many forums contributors have suggested using 'hdiutil' from the terminal, like 'hdiutil mount -readwrite image.iso' but it doesn't work. To quote the man page: "+-readwrite :: *attempt to override* the DiskImages framework's decision to attach a particular image read-only.+ "
    Note the bold text. It is only an attempt, not a guarantee.
    Anyway, I can't be the first person to try this. Any thoughts?

  • MacBook Pro 3.1 batter at 27% health at full charge. Time for new 1?

    My macbook pro 3.1 (since 2007) original battery says "service" and has a health of 24% (istat pro) at a full charge with 204 cycles.
    Have PRAMed, SMCed, disk first aided and hardware checked. All is well with the machine except the battery which suddenly die without warning.
    Is it time for a new battery? Any comments?

    Usually when it gives the service message the battery has given up the ghost and needs to be replaced.
    If you are in fact running a PPC G4 that is a battery you can replace yourself.  If you have a newer MB with a battery you can't just poop out you should take it in to the Apple store and have it replaced. You can get a replacement for the pop in type at Apple, Best buy, Amazon, or search online. I purchased one years ago AGPTEK for a 2006 MBP that my kid uses and it is still working fine.

  • LR3.2 Filmstrip does not update correctly for new imported images

    Installed 3.2 last week and today I did my first import.
    I downloaded from camera into a subfolder my photo folder as usually and then run synchronize on the photo folder in order for the images to appear in LR.
    After that everything looks as it used to but...
    However, when I scroll the filmstrip new thumbnails that enters into view does not have images, they are just grey.
    If i stop scrolling they vill update and show the images.
    It's however totally annoying because I can forget about scrolling to the images i want to take a look at because I don't know where they are.
    I have to guess and wait for the update.
    If I go back to images that I looked at before then the thumbnails are still there so once they been updated they stays so.

    So far I have made no changes to import settings and today I made two new imports.
    The first from card reader into my import folder.
    Then I selected my import folder in LR3,2 and run synchronize and all worked fine as it allways has done before.
    The second batch, captured using tethered capture onto my laptop, then transferred to an USB drive and then finally transferred to my import folder on my main computer.
    Then i run syncronize again
    This time I did not get the thumbnails as in my problem description.
    So something differ.
    Could it be that when the images was captured using tethered capture and the thumbnail was created etc on the laptop.
    It also put some metadata into the raw file that makes LR3 belive that a thumbnail already has been created for the file or something like that.
    Could that bee the reason to my problem?

  • Default time for new event is always 15 min b4...

    I think Ical is great and i use it daily to help me with my biz to stay on top of calls i need to make.
    I am constantly adding new events and i always want my new events to open with a default time of "0" rather than "15 minutes before". It is very tedious to constantly have to change this every time I make a new event.
    I also would hope to do the same thing with the alarm default feature so that I can change the default setting from "none" to "open file" since I always set alarms on all my new events this way. I am sure other ppl have the same problem if this ical a lot and would love to know how to tweak this or fix this in an update.
    Apple if there is (or isn't) a way to fix this then plz tell me so instead of ignoring this post as I noticed a similar post someone else made has been ignored,

    Bump. I'd like to know this as well. I don't see a preference for this in com.apple.iCal.plist

  • Time for new tablet?

    I purchased my ipad2, MC755LL, 14 GB, Version 4.3.3 about three years ago.  It won't let me update or download any apps.  Is there a way of doing this, or is it time to get a new tablet?

    The iPad 2 can be upgraded to iOS 8 (most recent).
    If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • Shipping time for new iMac i7 -- SEVEN WEEKS??!!

    Yesterday (June 8) I ordered my new iMac at the online Apple store.  I ordered th i7 with everything maxed out except I stayed with 8GB RAM.
    I thought the shipping time would be 4-6 weeks.  The order confirmation came back as delivery on July 27! That is SEVEN WEEKS!
    Does anybody know why it takes seven weeks to get this?  Granted I'm not the most patient person anyway- but this hurts!

    Let me guess: you included an SSD, too?  When I checked the store a week ago, it was that addition, and that alone, that bumped the shipping delay up to 4-6 weeks (and then 5 days, at least to hear on the East Coast) for delivery.

  • Minimum activation time for new phone

    I recently got an iPhone 4S.  One of the camera apps I use frequently is busted on the 4S but works fine on the iPhone 4, which is what I had previously.
    I'd like to re-activate my iPhone 4 until the developers get around to fixing the camera app (it's Hipstamatic for anyone who's curious).
    My question:  when you get a new phone, does it have to be active for a minimum amount of time?  I know the phone has to be activated within 5 days of purchase, but once it's activated does it need to stay active for a certain number of days or weeks?

    If you purchased the phone directly through Verizon, you can deactivate it immediately if you like.  I don't think the iPhone is being sold through third-party retailers yet (if it ever will be), so you should be fine.
    For future reference, if you do buy through a third-party (like Amazon, or Wirefly), they can ask you to sign a second contract directly with them.  That contract may require the phone to stay active for at least 180 days with the same plan, or you will owe that retailer an Early Termination Fee.

  • Long log in times for new user

    I am having a devil of a time deploying 10.9 and 10.10.  I am deploying Macs in a lab environment which sits in an AD world.  I usually followed the same pattern of image creation: 1) create a test profile, 2) Install and configure the programs and the dock, 3) Copy the profile, and 4) then test with both a local and admin accounts.  With Lion and Mountain Lion, everything worked fine.  The new user was able to log on with the default user template profile that was copied.  Now with 10.9.5, the network user (with a network Home Page) takes 5 minutes to log on when I copy a profile to the User Templates folder.  I can't create a new user from Users and Groups because the system preferences wont close because it is still busy creating the user.   I use Deploy Studio and Profile Manager to push out images.  I followed my procedures to the core including repairing the permissions, deleting the key chain, and clearing out the application caches.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  Is there anything new in regards to Active Directory in Mavericks and Yosemite and OS X?  Any help would be much appreciated.
