Is it true that apple products are "virus proof?"

I was in an argument with a friend, and I wanted to know if apple products are really, "virus proof?"

Well, obviously no-one can predict the future, but looking at history:
- there has never been a single virus outbreak on stock iOS devices since the very first iPhone in 2007
- there has never been a single virus outbreak on Mac OS X computers since it was released in 2001
Malware such as Trojans are different and rely on social engineering to get installed, not on security weaknesses in operating systems, so there isn't a computer system on the planet that cannot be compromised by a Trojan horse.

I was told that apple products do not get viruses!!!

You don't need antivirus or security software as long as you don't Jailbreak your iPad.
Currently there's no known virus affecting iPad.

No, I meant ther source of the rumor, not how you read it. This should alert you not to believe everything you read from rumor sites. Believe even less if you are informed by third, fourth, fifth, etc. hand reports.

    No.

    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.  If still under warranty, take it in to Apple for a potnetial warranty replacement.  If not, you may be able to get an out-of-warranty replacement for $149.

  • Is It True That Apple Will Not Fix This Flickering Issue?

Very disappointing to read so many postings that Apple techs are saying this problem will not be fixed, thus ruining what had been a great experience for so many. If this is true, this issue warrants public notification.

The AppleTV update was not mandatory. It is not applied automatically, and will continue to function without an update. Others have reported successfully exchanging updated AppleTVs for models with earlier versions of the OS when there was a problem with the update.
Anybody whose equipment does not match Apple's specifications (e.g. those with TVs that do not have built-in HDMI ports, or that cannot accept a 720p signal) should be very wary of installing any updates. As these are not supported displays, Apple is unlikely to test updates on them, and it is possible that an update will cause loss of function. It would be wise to wait to hear from others with similar TVs before you decide whether to apply an update. This also means that if you own an unsupported TV, it is possible that you will not be able to get access to future updates that include features that you would like to have.
Frankly, if you have an unsupported TV and are dead-set against replacing it, you probably should consider returning or selling your AppleTV and buy a product, such as the Roku box, that supports your type of TV.

The answer to this kind of depends on what you both want to do. Apple IDs can be used for multiple Apple services. For example you could both have your own iCloud Apple IDs (which I would suggest), but have only one iTunes Store Apple ID.
So think about how you will each use the iPhones then make your decision. Keep in mind that if you both use the same iCloud Apple ID you will receive each other's texts and emails and all the email, contacts and calendars will be the same.

When iPad is off and not connected to internet, you'll will not be able to track, lock or wipe the iPad.
    Apple do not track iPad.

  • I can't log in the App store because an from Zambia which is not listed in Apple outlets. How do i go around this as apple products are using globally and not only in the listed countries. My product is a Mac book pro.

Unfortunately you have taken an Apple product outside of the area where Apple currently does business. There isn't legally a way around this. Apple cannot license apps to you where you currently live.

  • When I want to get on my wifi I tap my wifi in settings but it just loads and says unable to connect. It wont let me sign in. All my family's apple products are working. Why is this happening?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Is true that apple will replace I pad 3 to new iPad for the customers?

When the iPad 4 was released, Apple said that persons who had purchased an iPad 3 in the prior 30 days could exchange it for an iPad 4. This replacement period is over.

Is it true that Apple is now pushing out iOS 7 updates to devices automatically and without a users’ permission?

Some people say that it has downloaded automatically when their phone is plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi, but I have left my phone and other iOS devices plugged in overnight several times since the iOS 7 release and have not experienced the same.

  • Why apple products are serviced so badly in india

why apple products are serviced so worst in india

because if you own an apple product in some asian country, they think you have money and it's a status symbol, and prefer you give them some cash to speed up the repair process.
and believe me from experience, it's not just in India.

  • HT4993 is it true that sprint phones are unusable in the us on any carrier other than sprint

Is it true that it is impossible to switch my fully paid for iphone 5s from sprint to a GMS carrier? I thought that all iphones have been international phones ever since the iphone 5. If this is true, I have to say I find it very upsetting and it will give me second thoughts about purchasing any more apple products.

Yes, its true but, no, it has nothing to do with Apple. Sprint choses not to completely unlock their iPhones, unlike AT&T. Verizon iPhones are GSM unlocked from time of purchase. So, your issue is with Sprint.

  • Can apple products get viruses

are apple products vulnerable to viruses.

Nothing is impossible, but as long as you do not "jail break" your iPod touch and load software from a source that is NOT Apple's App Store, you should not worry about it.
