Is it true that Oracle has announce that Forms will be discontinued soon ?

Hello, Forum
I have recently heard from one of our local consultant, that Oracle Forms soon will be discontinued. I will like to now if its true.
We are acquiring a software develop with Oracle Forms 10g, and we are just in time to take the decision and change to Oracle JDeveloper.
Thanks.

Hi, is true that I will loose some info while updating iPhone with latest software?
    Thanks!

Shouldnt be? Itunes will back up your phone before applying updates, so even if something 'goes wrong', you can restore it to how it was.

    No.
my iphone  just turned off last night and wont turn back on...
    Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.  If still under warranty, take it in to Apple for a potnetial warranty replacement.  If not, you may be able to get an out-of-warranty replacement for $149.

Is true that apple will replace I pad 3 to new iPad for the customers?

When the iPad 4 was released, Apple said that persons who had purchased an iPad 3 in the prior 30 days could exchange it for an iPad 4. This replacement period is over.

  • I am a new mac user and I switch to mac due to the graphics that it brings. I do website in pc and I heard iweb is the best.NOW i heard that iweb will be discontinue. so what is the best application there for website using MAC OSX lion?

I am a new mac user and I switch to mac due to the graphics that it brings. I do website in pc and I heard iweb is the best.NOW i heard that iweb will be discontinue. so what is the best application there for website using MAC OSX lion?

It is now confirmed  that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

  • Is it true that it will take an Apple Authorized reseller 7-10 days to replace my Magsafe recharger covered by applecare  and cannot give me ones available in their shop because they have to send the order to Singapore? Is that not really poor service?

HI, I have a question. I bought my macbook pro along with applecare + which expires in 2013. I bought it in Melboune Australia, however I am currently on a business trip in Pakistan. My Magsafe recharger went bust (not charging at all and leaking oil). Called Apple Australia and spoke to a very helpful service rep. After verification, he told me to take the magsafe to the Apple Authorized reseller in Lahore (Raffles - gave the sellers address and numbers) and they will replace it with a new one immediatley. He also gave me a case number.
Went to the Authorized reseller with macbook and magsafe and gave them the case number along with details about the problem. He told me after an hour of "researching and asking questions" that he will have to send the replacement request to Singapore and it will take atleast 7-10 business days for me to get back a new charger. I asked him why he could not give me the charger which he had on display and in stock at the shop. He said that mine will only be sent by Singapore and it will take that long (was quite rude and uncoperativel!!!!). Are'nt apple authorized resellers here in Lahore Pakistan bound by the same service standards as those in Australia. Maybe apple should really look into who they select as their authorized resellers and the kind of service they are providing to customers! Very Very Dissapointed with the service.
Now I have a major work presentation, and I wanted to find out if this 7-10 business days timeframe is correct as apple servic rep told me it would happen straight away as he had already lodged a case whereas this Apple Authorized reseller is saying 7-10 working days, even when he has the product in stock at the shop!???
Any help/knowledge about someone else who has faced this issue would be appreciated.

AAR's are independent distributors, very rarely have a inventory and have to order everything from Apple on a per need basis.
You would likely get faster response waiting on hold with Apple for three hours and having the new magsafe overnight shipped, or going to a Apple Store and exchanging the Magsafe/buy a new one while waiting for the old one to be replaced.
It's the sad fate of things unfortunately, but likely this has to do with AAR's only making a tiny profit on new hardware sales, them giving you a new Magsafe doesn't make any profit for them, likely Apple doesn't have a reinbursment or takes forever to determine your Magsafe is defective and authorize a replacement cost reinbursement to the AAR.
Think about it, if you were a AAR would you exchange a Magsafe knowing Apple could later determine  the defective Magsafe was caused by customer misuse (thus voiding the warrantly/AppleCare) not send you a dime?

  • Is It True That Apple Will Not Fix This Flickering Issue?

Very disappointing to read so many postings that Apple techs are saying this problem will not be fixed, thus ruining what had been a great experience for so many. If this is true, this issue warrants public notification.

The AppleTV update was not mandatory. It is not applied automatically, and will continue to function without an update. Others have reported successfully exchanging updated AppleTVs for models with earlier versions of the OS when there was a problem with the update.
Anybody whose equipment does not match Apple's specifications (e.g. those with TVs that do not have built-in HDMI ports, or that cannot accept a 720p signal) should be very wary of installing any updates. As these are not supported displays, Apple is unlikely to test updates on them, and it is possible that an update will cause loss of function. It would be wise to wait to hear from others with similar TVs before you decide whether to apply an update. This also means that if you own an unsupported TV, it is possible that you will not be able to get access to future updates that include features that you would like to have.
Frankly, if you have an unsupported TV and are dead-set against replacing it, you probably should consider returning or selling your AppleTV and buy a product, such as the Roku box, that supports your type of TV.

  • Is it true that Apple will not replace an LCD under warranty?

I have an iPhone 4s, that I bought around a month ago. It is under warranty. I have been having issues with the phone since the day I received it in the mail. One being that I get dial tones and/or other static-y noises at the beginning of all outgoing and incoming calls, usually for about 2-3 seconds. The phone also randomly dies, even if it has 15, 20 sometimes even 30 percent battery left. The biggest issue I've ran into is the front screen of the phone popping off. Not completely, but enough to notice. The way I can tell when it happens is because the home button will feel weird, like majorly indented and then light can be seen coming out through the side of the phone. The problem is that each time this happens the screen would get little crack-looking disturbances or just discolored all over, and then tonight it popped out AGAIN while I was talking to my mom and then screen went black and the phone just started making a weird bonging sound over and over. For lack of a better term, I'm ******.
The phone itself is perfect. No scratches, no dents, nothing. It's always been in a case.
My husband is adamant that I'm wasting my time because Apple will not replace an LCD screen, but obviously the phone has had issues since I received it and it's not anything that I did! I spoke to a very nice representative who made an appointment at the Apple Store to have it checked out. Has anyone had any luck with getting something like this taken care of under warranty? Thanks!

  • I don't have a problem. I want to understand how I can get the bookmarks imported to Firefox sync now that Xmarks will be discontinued.

I have all my bookmarks sync'd via Xmarks, across computers. Now that Xmarks is being discontinued, I want to have my bookmarks sync'd via Firefox sync. So how do I make sure that once I install Firefox sync, I get all my bookmarks from Xmarks into Firefox sync. I assume I import, but it doesn't say anything about this in the info about Firefox sync. Before I install, I want to know what measures to take with the bookmarks from Xmarks. Thanks for taking the time to answer this, I am sure, simplistic question.

As with Xmarks, Firefox Sync will import the bookmarks on your local computer. The bookmarks on your computer should be up to date and include any changes that are on the Xmarks servers. There is no need for Firefox Sync to import the data from the Xmarks server, it just needs to import the bookmarks on your computer.
For details on using it start with the [[What is Firefox Sync]] article. It has a description of what Firefox Sync does and links to how to use it.

  • Is it true that streams will be replaced by dataguard?

    Hi
Another DBA told me that i shouldn't waist my time with streams as it willl disaper very soon for the benefit of dataguard as dataguard can do all streams can + more.
    Is this true?
I waisted my time with Oracle application server 10g that is now dead also, don't want to do the same errors.
Please tell me that thisisnt true

This experienced DBA is not totally fair. You don't use Streams and dataguard for the same purpose.
Dataguard is meant to replicate a whole open DB toward a closed DB. You have to option to use the target DB as read only, but not much.
Streams may replicate whole or sub parts of a DB, toward one to many target read/write DB. This allow merge of data on the target,
and even Multi-master site. Moreover Streams cat alter the data/structure to fit a goal before it ever reach the target DB.
Dataguard will not allow this, specially the physical standby. Your target DB is a strict replica of the source data,
so forget any schema of one central master replicating towards local sites, unless local site a strict read-only replica of the central.
Golden Gate uses definition files to perform replication from outside Oracle (reading archivelogs)
while streams is plug into the Oracle Kernel that you configure using packages and API, not always easy.
Golden gate is more simple, allow more easy heterogeneous replication,
but it is more slower and if far from offering all the feature of streams.
Last, heterogeneous replication in Streams is covered with Oracle Gateway and is not easy to set-up.
So it is up to you to decide which product in function of your requirement.

  • Is it true that I will not be able to update my browser for my g4 laptop?

I would like to know if apple is not letting users upgrade their safari browsers on older powermac g4 laptops?

Many PowerPC users are moving to Ten Four Fox:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
It uses technology from more recent versions of FireFox that only run on Intel Macs but ports them to run on 10.4 and 10.5 PPCs.
By default, plug-ins are disabled. However, you can use these instreuctions:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1226744
to activate plug-ins and use Flash.
As many web technologies are no long optimized for the PowerPC, even 10-4-Fox can't restore neck-snapping speed, but the compatibility with modern sites is quite good.

  • Is it likely that Apple will ever update the classic?

I'm looking to upgrade iPods because my current 64 gig is full. I really want the Classic for storage and, well, I really like the way it looks. More along the lines of storage though. My big thing is that I don't want to buy one right now if they do a surprise refresh this year. I would definitely be willing to wait if there were hope, but the rumors that it will be discontinued worry me. The only thing that gives e hope is I heard that some people have been getting emails asking what they would like to see in a new classic. The idea of aluminum and a SS drive are really what keep me from buying now. What do you guys think?

The classic has many advantages, but its aimed at a few select markets.
For most people the classic is a familiar face. For people that just want a simple media player, it isnt intimidating. It has a basic display, a clickwheel that has become a standard in the past and massive storage capacity.
Its easier to use on the highway too.
For $250 bucks you get 160gb. Thats still to this day unheard for a media player. And for those people that have a large collection of music/video/files to bus with them it just makes sense.
Some people will tell you the hdd is unreliable compared to ssd. That it cant take a hit. Well. Ever dropped an Ipod Touch? *SMASH*
And like others have said, if its selling, I dont think that Apple will screw with a winning formula. I too had to travel hours to find one because they were all sold out.
    Sometimes, simple just works.
