Is it true that Sky channels cannot be mirrored to a TV using Apple TV?

I am told that some or all Sky channels cannot be mirrored from iPad to TV using Apple TV. Is this correct? If not, why is it not working?

In Acrobat Pro 7-10 (I think) it was possible to save an Acrobat Form with extended rights to enable saving a form including the field-contents with acrobat reader.
To use this feature for more then 500 individual users / returned filled forms you had to optain special licences or use adobe lifecycle server (according to the EULA of Adobe Acrobat).
As far as I understand, any form created with any adobe pro-Version is saveable inlcuding it's filled-in contents with adobe reader 11 (again, as reader 5 was able to do that aswell long time ago...).
So is there any need for special payed licences (like per-form licences or adobe lifecycle servers) any more for providing fillable forms on a company website (i. e. unknown number of potential users / returned filled forms)?
edit:
Is there any legal difference according to that 500-forms-limitation between receiving the extend forms as email-attachement, printed form and according to the way the returned forms are processed (i. e. scanning those forms, reading those forms with acrobat pro or any other reader-client)?
Thanks in advance for your reply!
Sincerely
Matthias Henkel

  • Is it true that iPod 2g cannot go past iOS 4.2.1?

Seriously, I need confirmation of this. MORE IMPORTANTLY, I need an explanation from support or a MOD regarding WHY. I get if it is truly a hardware issue.
But that does not excuse the sudden disappearance of support for my device. Suddenly, many apps that I use regularly reuire iOS 4.3 or better.
So, Apple and it's vendors are purposefully just going to throw all us millions of 2g owners under the bus?
    Really?

Yes, 4.2.1 is the end of the line. Apple is not on these forums so you will not get a reply from them.

  • Cannot Upgrade to 9.2.2 using Apple Download updates

Ok, Some recent hardware changes, and to outright avoid conflicts, I decided to completely wipe (zero data) on my master HDD that had 9.2.2. After the initialization, I proceeded to install 9.0.4 from my original CD-ROM. After this, I proceeded to download and install OS 9.1 and no problems with that. It took a couple of attempts, but that is only because I elected to install language packs, and a CD upgrade is necessary. Did it with out the language pack, and everything was fine.
Now I downloaded the next upgrade that would let me have OS 9.2.1, however, when the download completes, I get this pop up that tells me the smi won't mount error -127 and it is stuck in a loop. I can do a proper shutdown/restart to get past this. After a restart, I see the smi and when I double click, The verification says that it cannot complete the operation. Checksum values do not match.
Why is it all of a sudden this update cannot work? I had recently rebuilt my machine and was able to proceed through all updates before. Has anyone out there experienced the same thing?
I am thinking of possible solutions:
    1. Download the 9.2.1 in the multi part
    2. Try installing the International English version for that update only.
    3. baseball bat... just kidding!
Please let me know any other suggestions you may have.
Hardware changes included upgrade of AGP graphics card from Rage 128 to Radeon 128 with DVI and S-Video Output. Addition of 128 MB RAM. Installed a combo drive as well. All parts work, and have had no problems.

There are several solutions & meanings for Error 127(positive) & Error -127(negative).
That error is most commonly caused by Stuffit Expander intruding where it should not. The download is in a .smi (self-mounting image) format, a format generated by Apple's Disk Copy. Stuffit Expander has ShrinkWrap technology built-in, which allows it to mount some kinds of disk images - but not .smi ones. Yet ShrinkWrap tries to - hence the error message.
The solution - double-click Stuffit Expander, and open its Preferences (under the File menu). Select "Disk Images" from the list on the left, then turn off "Mount Disk Images". Quit Stuffit Expander.
    Please post back your results.

  • Cannot open videos on shared photostream using apple devices

All members  of our shared photostream are unable to open posted videos. Pictures are present.  This affects only those using Apple devices, i.e. iPhones & iPads all models.  People who are viewing the photostream on a Windows device are able to see the videos.

Just started having this issue as well!
I can view the shared videos in iPhoto via my iMac but not a single one of my iOS devices will play the videos.

WAV as originally developed does not support embedded artwork. It is also very limited even for simple text based meta-data. AIFF also as originally developed (by Apple) did not support embedded artwork but Apple have added the ability to do this and this works in iTunes for Mac and Windows. Some other applications can also read such embedded artwork in AIFF files but not WMP.
If your looking for a lossess file format to use that supports embedded artwork for iTunes, then I suggest using Apple Lossless which uses the MP4 file format and MPEG4 meta-tags, these are the same as used by AAC.
It is possible to use Apple Lossless files in WMP and Windows Media Center, but not alas to read the embedded artwork in WMP. I use embedded artwork in Apple Lossless for iTunes and iPod and iPhone, and then use a folder.jpg for WMP.
Note: I have all my music in Apple Lossless playing fine in WMP.

The error indicates that the input parameters in the input file is not matching with your input paramters in the test script.
Please try to download the input parameter format from the ecatt test configuration and input values in the text/excel file wihtout changing the format.

Is it true that Pages cannot insert a page into the middle of a document?
I have tried this many times using different techniques and it just refuses to do it. Can anyone help?

    To see how Pages works:
Menu > View > Page Thumbnails
When you click on the thumbnails each Section is outlined in yellow.
Click where you want a new page > Menu > Insert > Section Break
But then to have a new page all you need to do is add content to fill the page or Insert > Page Break to force the insertion point over onto a new page.

  • Is it true that you cannot scan

with the new Intel chip? The dude at HP said that there is no scanner support (drivers) for scanning.
    Is this true?
    Thanks,
    SP

It's true that OS X does not come with any scanner drivers. It is not true that scanners won't work with OS X or Intel Macs. All scanners that work with Macs must come with driver software. That means that some scanners will not work on Intel Macs unless their manufacturers have provided universal binary drivers.
However, there is an excellent shareware product called VueScan (www.hamrick.com) that is a universal binary application that supports a large number of different scanners. To assure that a scanner will work with your Intel Mac verify from the manufacturer if they provide a universal binary driver. If not, then check with the VueScan site to see if the software is compatible with the scanner you are considering or own.

what is weird is that the channel is able to access the server but not the directory in the server.
    Try the below:
    1. Goto Start ---> run --> drivers --> etc --> hosts --> ADD YOUR HOST NAME AND IP OF THE SERVER HERE
2.Check the root for the folder to which the ftp has been given For eg: if the ftp is activated on the path C: driver\Inbox then in the communication channel just give the value \ and nothing else as it is directly accessing the folder and the path need not be given.
    This should help.

  • Is true that I need to charge my ipod 5G 12 hours for the first time?

Is true that I need to charge my ipod 5G 12 hours for the first time? Help me please

No, you need to charge until the battery shows it is fully charged...that can take only a couple hours depending on how far you have discharged it.  You do not need to discharge the iPod all the way and then recharge...plug it in when convenient and top up that battery.  Plug it in at night so it is charged in the morning.
You cannot overcharge the battery, the charging circuit shutsdown when the battery is fully charged so you cannot harm it leaving it plugged in.

  • What's that: Posix error: cannot allocate memory?

    Hello,
few days ago I upgraded my Powerbook to 10.4.6. Then I use Software-Upgrade application to upgrade all applications it showed so far.
Today I suddenly recognize, that Safari will not load any page anymore but abort with the error mentioned in the subject. Even www.apple.de cannot be opened.
Therefore I tested to open the Software-Upgrade application and it bummers with exact the same message. So this means, I cannot even use Software-Upgrade in future!
My Mail.app seem to be incapable to show pictures in emails.
However, other applications like Finder, Camino and Thunderbird works well and did not abort.
So my question would be if anybody know how I could get Safari, Software-Upgrade and Mail.app working again?
Thanks in advance for any hint.
    Ciao,
    Clemens.
    Powerbook 12" G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   1.25 GB RAM

First let me thank you, Fumiaki and the others who tried to help me.
At the end, it was your final hint that did the trick for me
(Fortunately -- I really already feared, I have to reinstall my MacOS. This would be something I ever hated on MS-Windows in the past)
I did a search in Safari and found one post from
someone getting the same error. He said he needed to
change his proxy settings and configure them by hand.
This seems to fit with some of what Fumiaki mentions
    too. (...)
This was it! I had a look into my proxy setting and I detect, that both manual settings and automatic setting were enabled. I disabled the automatic settings and now all went smooth again. This answer I am writing from within Safari :-D
Software-Update and Mail.app work again too.
(...) It is odd though that other browsers are
working. But it does seem that what Safari, Mail and
Software Update all have in common is networking. So
I think this is not odd (now, were I understand the issue). All MacOS-Applications will use the same functionality provided by an service library (the same is true BTW. for MS-Windows). However Camino and others use own mechanism to access via an proxy -- not the one provided by MacOS.
At least this is, how I guess it to be :-/
take a close look at all the settings in your System
Prefs Networking pane and see if anything seems odd.
    Francine
Yepp! And thanks for this hint, issue is solved now! :-D
    Thanks again and best regards,
    Clemens.

  • Is it true that Mac's can get a genuine Virus? I've heard they can't.

Is it true that Mac's can get a genuine Virus? I've heard they can't.

OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it updated with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Disable Java in Safari > Preferences > Security.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgement, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

  • I seem to have multiple problems related or unrelated.  I cannot use Apple Mail for blueyonder and mostly for gmail as both show that the server is off line.  My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with pop up windows on nearly every command

Firstly I am unable to use Apple mail except for hotmail, for blueyonder, gmail or Sky as the server shows as (off line) and I have no idea how to get them on line even though I tell them to go there.
My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with advertising windows virtually on ever command I make, one seems to be impossible to unsubscribe from.
When I am in an email with a web link the web link doesn't work and I get a window saying that I must have a pop up blocker, but if I switch it off it is no different, what does work is switching the "enable Java script off", then when I get to the web site I can't use it until I switch the java script back on.
I can't do a screen shot either full or partial, when I try it changes the web site that is on screen to another.
So what have I done that might have caused problems, downloading Yosemite seemed to be the start of the problems.  Since then I have started to install Mackeeper, after checking with a family members who should know, that MacPaw is safe.  I decided that I didn't want to pay the subscription, so went through the uninstall instructions but it comes up as a pop up with considerable regularity.
My stress levels have gone through the roof with pop ups happening so regularly and not being able to use Apple mail.o can anyone help please?
