Is iTunes 10.7 compatible with Mavericks?

When I upgraded to iTunes 11 last year I found that I couldn't live with it because it didn't do the very thing I use iTunes for all the time...
So I had to revert back to iTunes 10.7, which does what I want it to perfectly. (Reverting was difficult enough, even under Mountain Lion!)
I'm scared that, if I upgrade to Mavericks I will get iTunes 11 back as part of the upgrade, and then find that I absolutely cannot revert back to 10.7 due to a Mavericks compatability issue.
Anyone have any ideas please?

I found a method that works on MacRumors:
1)  Rename iTunes.app to something else.  (iTunes11.app?)   You may have to go into the terminal and "mv" the file to do this.
2)  Go to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks and find a file called CoreFP.framework.  Copy it somewhere and rename it CoreFP2.framework
3)  Use Pacifist (I've been told you need to use version 3.0.10, the newest one doesn't seem to work right -http://www.charlessoft.com/pacifist_olderversions.html) to install iTunes 10.7 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US).
4)  Replace your iTunes library if necessary with an earlier 10.7 .itl file.
5)  Move the copied CoreFP2.framework file into /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks
6)  Make sure none of your devices (iPod/Pad/Phone) are connected and restart your computer.
Once rebooted, go ahead and run your 10.7 iTunes.
Just installing it will overwrite the new CoreFP file, and that will hose your App Store and possibly other functions within Mavricks.  Doing this minor surgery keeps both Frameworks installed and places then in a manner that allows the App Store to work while not getting the errors in iTunes 10.7 that would prevent you from using the iTunes store.

  • Why are we being pushed to upgrade to iOS 8 when it isn't compatible with Maverick?

Why are we being pushed to upgrade to iOS 8 when it isn't compatible with Maverick? I just tried to open an iCloud document after upgrading to iOS 8 in all my Apple smart devices and OSX 10.9.5 on my MacBook Pro, only to be told that the new iCloud isn't compatible with Maverick and that I should upgrade to Yosemite. Problem is, Yosemite is only available as a Beta and won't have a public release until Oct. 21. Why would Apple cut its users off from iCloud like this?

Checking with my better half, I'm now even more perturbed. According the the iCloud Drive FAQ, it's compatible with PCs running Windows 7. The current Windows OS is 8, which means Apple made iCloud backwardly compatible with Windows, for PC users, but not for its own customers. That *****.
iTunes customers are Apple customers, what are you going on about?

  • Is there a version of iTunes that's compatible with XP Pro x64?

At this time I don't want to upgrade to Win 7 or go back to 32-bit XP, since iTunes is the only application I'm having trouble with and I like XP Pro x64 in all other ways. Is there either a version of iTunes that's compatible with XP Pro x64, or can one of the other versions be modified to make it compatible? Thanks.

Thanks! The procedure worked great for me (using iTunes 10), however there was one caveat. I also had to edit “AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi” with Orca and change the entry in “LaunchCondition” from
    VersionNT64>=600
    to
    VersionNT64>=501
in order for the Device Manager driver update procedure to work, and iTunes to recognize my iPhone4. Prior to doing this, only “digital still camera” was displayed in the “imaging” entry in Device Manger. Once I did the above, “Apple Mobile Device USB Driver” was listed, and the procedure worked as written.

  • Is an ipod nano 6th generation compatible with Mavericks?

Simple question, looking to purchase one, but I'm not going to if it isn't compatible.

Of course, iPod Nano 6th Gen is compatible with Mavericks.

  • Disk utility 12 not compatible with Mavericks

I upgraded my late 2008 Mac Book Pro to Mavericks several months ago and just tried to open Disk Utility and get a message that the version I have is not compatible with Mavericks.  Mine is Disk Utility 12, is there an upgrade available?  I looked on the Apple site and couldn't find one.  Thanks!

Well, I'm not on my Mavericks machine at the moment, but my Mountain Lion machine has Disk Utility 13, so Mav must have at least that or higher.
Since Disk Utility is not a stand alone application, but an integral part of the OS, I'd suggest you use your recovery partition - hit Command + R keys during restart/boot up and choose to reinstall the OS. That should bring everything up to date.

  • Does anyone know if Photoshop Elements 9 for the Mac is compatible with Mavericks?

Does anyone know if Photoshop Elements 9 for the Mac is compatible with Mavericks?

Yes, but it is absolutely critical to delete all existing preferences after upgrading to 10.9.
I'm running PSE 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 in 10.9. PSE 11 has a slight problem (with a couple of filters) but otherwise it all works.

  • Is photoshop elements 12 compatible with mavericks?

    Hi,
I'm looking to get the elements and premiere elements 12 bundle but just wanted to check if it was compatible with mavericks 10.9.2. I've seen some places saying it isn't, but then other people saying they're running it on mavericks. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Stuart

Yes it is. The problems people had arose because they upgraded to Mavericks AFTER installing PSE in a previous OSX version - in those circumstances they needed to delete their PSE preferences after the upgrade.

  • Printer compatible with Mavericks 10.9.5

I have an Epson NX510 printer and scanner which won't print any more.  I'm looking for an inexpensive wireless printer (the Epson scanner works OK) which is compatible with Mavericks 10.9.5 -  if there is such a thing!

The HP LaserJet 200 Color is reasonable, works great wireless and is AirPrint enabled so it prints directly from iPad and iPhone.

  • Epson Stylus Photo PX710W is not compatible with Mavericks

I still cannot scan with my Epson Stylus Photo PX710W. My scan driver (scan.app version 3.7.1) is not compatible with Mavericks. Who can help me?
Epson does not react to my question when the correct driver will be available.
Epson indicate to their FAQ’s, but this is will not help since the ICA scan only works when my printer/scanner is connected to my Mac via USB. I bought this EPSON printer/scanner because it was wireless. Now after just 3 years I miss this important option.
I see a lot of discussion about Epson scan drivers but little help from Epson
Who can lead me to an appropriate scan driver for my Epson device?

I disagree a bit because my Epson printer/scanner worked very well for over 3 years. It worked under Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion. But since I installed Mavericks my scanner doesn't work anymore. It's just a case that Epson is very slow in upgrading the drivers within an appropriate time on the one hand and not giving any foresight how long it takes to repair drivers on the other hand. Their website is inadequate and gives me absolute no information at all. I can understand their vision when it comes to printer/scanners which are very old i.e 10 years and mor. But not for relatively new printer/scanners.
So, if anybody can help i'll be very greatefull.
