Is iTunes 11.1.0 compatible with Windows XP Home Edition?

I am trying to update my iTunes to 11.1.0, but get a Windows error message that says it might not be compatible with Windows XP (Home Edition). I've never had this problem updating iTunes before. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Has XP been updated to Service Pack 2? Right-click Computer on your desktop or in the start menu and click Properties. Visit Windows/Microsoft Update and install the service pack if needed, otherwise ignore the error and continue.

You may have to follow the slightly more detailed steps in whichever of these two applies to you.

Rebooting into safe mode may be needed to delete any folder the instructions say you should remove. You may also find this Microsoft Fixit helps to remove stubborn components. It has taken some people several attempts to completely clean iTunes and supporting software before they have been able to successfully reinstall it.

Is Elements 7 compatible with windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit?

I purchased a legal version of Photoshop Elements 7 from Adobe a couple years ago, and had it installed on a machine running (ugh) Vista 32 bit. Now I have a completely new machine running 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium, with 8 GB RAM, quad core AMD etc etc..... I know this machine is more than capable of running Elements 7 in that respect, but before trying to install Elements 7, I would like to know if it will be compatible with Win 7 Home Premium, 64 bit. thanks

It appears that Photoshop Elements was tested with Windows Vista and Windows XP with service pack two or 3. It may work in Windows 7 but it has not been tested by Adobe. Please feel free to respond to this thread if you receive an error during the installation process.

Remote Desktop compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium

I would like to see/hear/manipulate the various programs on my laptop....from my playbook....
I downloaded Remote Desktop for Blackberry Playbook (by Todd Grayson), but unfortunately I did not read the specificis of the app, and it does not work with Windows 7 Home Premium. My laptop windows version apparently allows you to access other computers remotely, but I cannot access my own ! Now I am afraid to download and pay for another app for fear it won't work either.
My playbook and my laptop are both on wifi. We have an E2000 router. I'd like to be able to access my computer via the playbook from within the house and from another location...(two different programs?)
Anybody have any suggestions? Word of warning.....Needless to say, I am not particularly tech savvy.....

Pre Pro CS3 compatible with Windows 7 Home?

I'm currently running Pre Pro CS3 on my dieing XP. Looking to purchase Sony Series F- Quad core i7 740 QM (173 GHz with Turbo Boost to 2.93 GHz), NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M GPU (1GB VRAM), 640 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM), 8 GB DDR SDRAM, with Windows 7 Home Version. Will Pre Pro CS3 run with this. Can't afford to purchase puter and Pre Pro upgrade both. My concern is 64 bit Windows 7 with CS3. Advice?? I'm not puter literate enough to build my own. This Vaio from Sony is about $1,400.

Could Not Install iTunes 7.2 on my machine Windows XP Home Edition

I am trying to install iTunes after downloading from Apple site. While trying to install, I am getting the following message "Error 1316. A network error occured while attempting to read from the file. I am using Dell Desktop with Windows XP Home operating system with 256MB RAM. C:\Windows\Installer\Tunes.msi. Can any one give probable cause and solution for this?

This is a very popular problem. There are a lot of steps to this so it might take quite awhile.
Before doing any of these steps, click start and click Search. Type in itunes.msi and if anything pops up double click on that file and you should be all set.
Keep in mind that you must be a little more than average computer literate to understand what to do.
1. Go to http://www.ccleaner.com/ and download and install CCleaner. Run this program and click Run Cleaner. This program will remove most of your temporary files.
2. Go to http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1b d/msicuu2.exe and download and install Windows Install Clean Up utility. Click on iTunes and click Remove. Do the same for Quicktime.
3. Now you need to manually delete all of your iTunes and Quicktime files. This can take a very long time. Just go to C: and start searching through.
4. Go to the Run box and type in "regedit". Go through all of the folders in there and delete all iTunes and Quicktime files.
5. Go to Add/Remove Programs and Remove iTunes and Quicktime.
6. Download iTunes again and install it.

You might not need to do every single one of these steps, but it still cleans out your hard drive if you ever need any extra space, and I don't really want to test which ones you need and which ones you don't.

I'm sure there's something wrong here, either with iTunes 11.0.1, or its compatibility with window 8.
iTunes became a nightmare, nothing is organized, it do not save modifications, it can not remember what's watched what's not from movies or tv shows, even with the new files I just added.
Even music.
It is not even streaming or synching properly to apple tv (the latest version), it keep on disconnecting.
I tried this is 3 devices, with different brands, two of them with windows 8/iTunes 11.0.1, all the same, but the 3rd is with Windows 7/iTunes 10.7.0.12, it is working great, very smooth, all is well, in all fields.
Plus, All my devices are 64bit, when i install iTunes 11.0.1's iTunes64setup.exe, downloaded from apple.com/download, in my windows 8 64bit, then i run iTunes i got iTunes (32bit) "knowing that from task manager"
what's going on??????

They all work fine in these environs. The only trouble you may run into is temporary files not being accessible if the user logged in is not an administrator or the vi was created by an admin and a limited user tries to run it. This can easily be fixed by giving lower users permissions to use these files. The legacy versions of NI-DAQ do not run on XP though, you'll have to use a more recent version of them.

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor informs that it hasn't compatibility information about compatibility between Texas Instrum. PCIxx12integrated FlashMedia controller (on my HP Pavilion version) and Windows 7 (in my case thus 32bits). Could you inform me if it works or does I need a new controller? How to find it?

Is iTunes 10.3.1 compatible with Windows Vista? Every time I plug in my iPod iTunes pops up a window saying "iTunes cannot connect to this device because an unknown error occurred. Ex8000001." Any Solutions? Please Help.

It happened once before, but it fixed itself. I read about it online and people say they brought their iPods to Apple and they said its Windows causing the error. Its not one of their error messages.

1st : Install SP1,SP2 and ALL Microsoft Online Updates. There were known issues in Vista with Apple ipods usb syncing feature in Vista, but in the lifetime of Vista it was fixed several times, so update the OS.
2nd : If you have a x64 version of Vista you MUST use itunes also in 64bit, because it installs drivers into the OS. 32bit drivers wont work properly in 64bit OS, even if the application itself will start.

When will iTunes 11 actually be compatible with Windows 8. Not just as print on a specification requirements list. When will iTunes 11 be functionally compatible?

I just got off the phone with a Senior Rep at Apple who clearly and concisely stated.
Apple iTunes 11 Does Not Support Windows 8.
He stated that there is currently nothing in the works to support Windows 8.
I installed and read the specifications requirements list which states that Windows 8 is supported.
I have Windows 8 Professional and have not been able to sync or back up my iPhone since installing Windows 8.
When will Apple actually address this?

This is a user support forum. We don't know what Apple will do when. iTunes 10.7 didn't cliam to support Windows 8. iTunes 11 does. If there are still outstanding issues with compatability for some people then these have to be found and workarounds put in place. I don't have Windows 8, but I gather for some people updating drivers (I don't know which) has fixed their problems.

how unbelievable it is to buy a tablet in 2013 and have itunes not be able to be loaded on it.

It stands to reason that software developers updated constantly for the changing landscape of hardware. How many people are going to buy the Surface after Microsoft's ad campaign only to realize that the cant sync there phones to this version of windows. If Apple wants to keep these users the need to make iTunes available for the hardware of today. It's the nature of Software!
