My 4th gen iPod touch says iOS 6.1.3 is the latest version of software. I've been updating it wirelessly for a while so I know that isn't the problem & I know I'm connected to the Internet; I typed & submitted it on my iPod. Please help/explain why it's doing this!

My iPod touch (4th gen) suddenly stopped supporting my Altec Lansing speakers, my iHome and my Onkyo dock. I have updated to the latest version of iTunes, reset my iPod, wiped and restored my iPod (running iOS 6.1.6), turned my iPod off and on, unplugged and plugged back in all of the accessories...all to no avail. The iPod will charge on all of the docks, so they recognize it, but the iPod says "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPod touch". Last week it all worked fine.- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

My sons iPod touch 4th gen is disabled as he forgot his pass code. I have tried to force a reset but the iPod has never been synced before with any pc it comes up with error asking for pass code. What can I do?
Use any computer with iTunes and Restore as new. Since it has never been synced, he will lose all of his data.

Have an iPod touch 4th gen. It is completely charged, but once I disconnect from a power source it shuts down and then the apple logo just keeps reappearing. I have restored via iTunes and reset all the settings. Any suggestions?
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

ive been trying to update since friday my internet is perfect [speedtest.net] itunes just wont get past [backing up ipod[ i hope they fix this soon and i just wanted to see if anybody else was also having this problem because i want the new features coming with ios but its just not working and it took all night just to get roughly to about 20% completion of backing up ipod then when i got home it said "could not restore ipod its still on firmware 4.3.3 so i dont know why it said could not restore i did click "update" but anyway im having this problem and wondering if anyone else is {i think everybodys having problems itunes10.5 right nowI am having the same problem (lost in back-up purgatory) on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad2. One person was able to work through it by deleting all of the previous iTunes backup files. I'm trying that now. 4 hours into it, and it does not seem to be working...... -

No update is ever forced on you. It's always the user's option to accept and install the update or not, which you apparently did. As John said, there is no supported way to go back to an earlier version of iOS, and that's been the case since the first iOS-based device came out these several years ago. If you want to comment to Apple on the issue, you can do so via their feedback page:

but I don't expect Apple to change, and almost certainly not in the near future. If you search the web, you'll find instructions that may work for downgrading, but you're on your own should any problems arise. For many people it goes without problems, but for some it's reportedly bricked their devices.

My iPod touch 4th gen is shutting down and not playing music?
so here is the story:
lately my iPod touch 4th gen will become frozen, or slow whenever i am using it. However within the last 2 weeks it has shut itself down completely (even though there was always more than half charge) 3 times and won't allow me to turn it on for about 2-3 days. It also will not play music anymore, and instead is either silent or sounds of static. I am just wondering if there is anyway I can fix it or if I need to buy a new iPod.Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

My iPod touch (4th gen) suddenly went blank, and I can't get it back on!
I was listening to music and downloading songs from the iTunes Store on my iPod touch (4th gen) when suddenly the screen went blank. The music I was listening to was still playing in my headphones. When I unplugged the headphones, the music oddly continued playing from the built-in speakers, instead of pausing like it normally does when you remove the headphones without pausing. I think the music finally stopped shortly after I plugged the headphones back in.
Since this happened, the iPod has not responded at all when I press or hold buttons. The screen has remained blank and turned off. Surprisingly, iTunes still recognizes the iPod when I connect it to my computer (Windows Vista laptop, if it matters) and tries to sync. Since iTunes is very poorly written, it almost always freezes at some point before I can successfully finish syncing, but this was happening before my iPod blank-screened, so it isn't related to the problem.

Hi Recently my iPod Touch (4th Gen) is not recognized by iTunes or ' My Computer' on my PC it was synced fine previously. I have tried to get an update via a Wi Fi network but this timed out... How can I get it recognized by cable?

- Make a backup of th iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer. Right click on iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.

We have an iPod touch 4th generation (4 months old) that is charging on our PC but is not recognized by iTunes. It is also charging on the docking station of our stereo but is not recognized by the stereo (will not play music). Can i get all my pictures back on my computer (icloud, itunes, etc.) from my totally smashed (no longer has a screen) iPod touch 4th gen if its locked without going to the apple store? There is absolutely no way to put in my password on my ipod. Its literally in pieces. i have the ipod itself, and the thing underneath it, but no screen, its not like its cracked, its actually gone and i can see the inside of the ipod. Thats what comes up every time i connect my ipod, so i know it works vvv. Please help! </3 i'm gonna die without my pics. My dad wont take me to the apple store. Any help would be great! Thanks!
