Is iWeb '09 compatible with Mavericks or Mountain Lion

I am still running Snow Leopard because of a VM.  Looking to upgrade to Mountain Lion and then Mavericks or straight to Mavericks if permitted.  Need to know if iWeb '09 is compatible though with the more recent OS.

Rant and rave all you like, but it won't change anything at this stage.  Apple stopped developing iWeb a long time ago now and have not sold it for sometime now either.  They don't support iWeb eithert.  MobileMe went away more than a year ago now and was replaced by iCloud, so there was not need for iWeb to be developed any longer.
iWeb is really not likely to be developed by Apple any further, so it is time to take this on board and move on.  It is an application and will still work with Mountain Lion, so if you have iWeb on your Mac then you can still use it, so carry on and continue to use it until you can't any longer.
There are lots of alternatives out there for you to try, with most available through the Mac App Store - these include:  RapidWeaver, Sandvox, Freeway Pro/Express 6, Flux 4, WebAcappella 4 and Quick 'n Easy Web Builder.  You can download free trials of most of these so that you can try before you buy.
If you go to Rage software they are actively working on an iWeb alternative called EasyWeb.  If you send them an e-mail, they will let you sign up as a beta tester and you can download the beta version before the final version is released.  They also have a Facebook page that you can follow.
There are lots of alternatives out there that might suit you - you just have to look, but it really is time to move on from iWeb now and accept the face that Apple will no longer develop this product - with MobileMe gone, there is no further need for it.

You will need to find another hosting service. You can publish to another service in iWeb '09 and above by choosing the FTP option in the Publish pane; in earlier versions you will need to publish to a local folder and upload using an FTP program such as Cyberduck. More details here:

  • Is iWeb 09 compatible with Maverick?

Does anyone know if iWeb 09 is compatible with OX Maverick?

iWeb no longer works for me after Maverick install.  Certain fonts (ex. Calibri) turn into hierogliphics.  Also some fonts do not work in larger sizes.  The letters appear crushed together and overwritten, unreadable.  My whole site is blown up, unusable.  Disaster.

  • HT201364 why is my computer not compatible with OS X Mountain Lion

I Have a MAC Pro late 2007 with 13GB Memory & 2TB I purchased OS X Mountain Lion as an upgrade to Lion, now I'm told the this is not compatible, why?

Hardware is the reason you can't upgrade. Older CPUs and other parts and pieces can't handle the load.
    Upgrade to Mountain Lion/Mavericks.
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
If your computer isn’t compatible, you might be able to upgrade to Lion. Based on my experience, I recommend staying with Snow Leopard. You could partition your hard drive and 'test drive' Lion.

Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported beyond 10.7.

  • Office not compatible with OS X Mountain Lion?

After instaling OS X Mountain Lion Office is not working any more. What can I do?

Depending upon how extensive your library of legacy Microsoft Office data files are, you may want to consider continuing to use Microsoft Office 2004 in addition to upgrading to Office 2011.
Microsoft Office's 2011 version is compatible with Lion and presumably either works with Mountain Lion or an update will make it so.  The problem with this approach is that Office 2011 will "convert" your earlier data files and there lies the rub!  For example, I have the need to weekly open a chart created in Excel 2004, but Excel 2011 trashes the chart in its "conversion."
So I have approached the overall problem differently.
The reason your applications do not work in Mountain Lion is that they were written for the older PowerPC CPU that all Macs used up to 2006.  When Apple made its transition to the Intel CPU, they licensed software that they included in all versions of OS X (from Tiger to Leopard and optionally, Snow Leopard) called Rosetta.
Rosetta miraculously allows PowerPC applications to work on the Intel processor transparently; you do not know it is even present.
The problem is that after 6 years of the transition, Apple's license to use the underlying software expired for OS X Lion and all version thereafter (and it is doubtful that the current owner of the software, IBM, would relicense it, even if Apple were inclined to do so).
So for those of use that need to run Lion, I have offered the option to install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels 7:

    And now Mountain Lion:

  • Cisco Connect does not run with Mac OSX Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

When I first installed Cisco Connect that came with my E1500 router, I was running Mac OSX Snow Leopard (10.7) and it worked fine.  I upgraded my OSX to Mountain Lion and now when I start Cisco Connect, I get:
    Unsupported operating system
The router software supports these operating systems:
    - Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later
    - Mac OS X 10.6.1 or later
    - Mac OS X 10.7 or later
I saw some other thread/info/download on Cisco Connect with Lion (10.7) but nothing for Moutain Lion (10.8) - is there a fix forthcoming?
    Thanks
    Gary

All i want to do is disable the guest function through cisco. i live in an apartment and everyone logs into my guest account. i was at my neighbours and they were laughing saying they done need to subscribe for the internet cause they just log onto local wi fi. and mine is one of them. i dont know if that'll slow down my internet with so many people using it. but all i want to do is just avoid it all together and get rid of it. but in this case i am having the same problem as all of you. to disable the guest function you need to go through cisco connect and it is not compatible with mac osx mountain lion. grrrrrrr

  • Disk utility 12 not compatible with Mavericks

I upgraded my late 2008 Mac Book Pro to Mavericks several months ago and just tried to open Disk Utility and get a message that the version I have is not compatible with Mavericks.  Mine is Disk Utility 12, is there an upgrade available?  I looked on the Apple site and couldn't find one.  Thanks!

Well, I'm not on my Mavericks machine at the moment, but my Mountain Lion machine has Disk Utility 13, so Mav must have at least that or higher.
Since Disk Utility is not a stand alone application, but an integral part of the OS, I'd suggest you use your recovery partition - hit Command + R keys during restart/boot up and choose to reinstall the OS. That should bring everything up to date.

  • ICloud OK with Macs running Mavericks and Mountain Lion?

I have two Macs on Mountain Lion currently, but only want to upgrade one of them to Mavericks.
    Will iCloud still work seamlessly?
    Thanks!

Correct. iCloud is compatible with OS X Lion and later, so you won't have any problem using iCloud in OS X Mavericks even if one of your Macs is using OS X Mountain Lion. The only thing that iCloud adds in Mavericks is iCloud Keychain, so you can't use it with your computer with OS X Mountain Lion. Apart from that, everything should be working correctly.
Before upgrading, make a backup of your files with Time Machine and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

  • Epson Stylus Photo PX710W is not compatible with Mavericks

I still cannot scan with my Epson Stylus Photo PX710W. My scan driver (scan.app version 3.7.1) is not compatible with Mavericks. Who can help me?
Epson does not react to my question when the correct driver will be available.
Epson indicate to their FAQ’s, but this is will not help since the ICA scan only works when my printer/scanner is connected to my Mac via USB. I bought this EPSON printer/scanner because it was wireless. Now after just 3 years I miss this important option.
I see a lot of discussion about Epson scan drivers but little help from Epson
Who can lead me to an appropriate scan driver for my Epson device?

I disagree a bit because my Epson printer/scanner worked very well for over 3 years. It worked under Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion. But since I installed Mavericks my scanner doesn't work anymore. It's just a case that Epson is very slow in upgrading the drivers within an appropriate time on the one hand and not giving any foresight how long it takes to repair drivers on the other hand. Their website is inadequate and gives me absolute no information at all. I can understand their vision when it comes to printer/scanners which are very old i.e 10 years and mor. But not for relatively new printer/scanners.
So, if anybody can help i'll be very greatefull.

  • Is my e2500 router compatible with mavericks?

I am trying to reset my linksys e2500 wireless router and when i run the disc it tells me that I am not up to date.  Is this router not compatible with Mavericks??

    Am using Mac Pro 5,1.
The drop outs to internet happen when connected to a DSL modem via my Asante router.  All connections are ethernet; not using wireless.
When I connect directly via ethernet to my Qwest DSL modem, and bypas the router, no problem.
Drop outs while Safari is open, or Google Chrome is open, can occur anytime. If Google Chrome and Safari are both open at the same time, internet dropout occurs for both simultaneously.  They occur after waking from sleep also.
I can get back internet connectivity in both Chrome and Safari by unplugging the DC power to the Asante router for 5 seconds, and plugging the power back in; internet connectivity resumes instantly in both Chrome and Safari.
So the problem is not isolated to Safari.
The problem seems isolated to my Mavericks install completed yesterday because:
This same Mac Pro running Win 8.1 from a separate SSD and separate boot to Win 8.1 through the router does not have the problem.
My tenant downstairs running Win 7 through the router does not have any connection problems.
There were no internet drop outs when connected to DSL modem via this same router when I ran Mountain Lion.
Sparky, can you describe a "step-by-step" on how you reset your IP address, etc?
Is this a "handshaking problem" between Mavericks and my router?
Do others have suggestions for solution paths to try?
    Will report back right away.
    Thank you.

  • Is an ipod nano 6th generation compatible with Mavericks?

Of course, iPod Nano 6th Gen is compatible with Mavericks.

  • Does anyone know if Photoshop Elements 9 for the Mac is compatible with Mavericks?

Does anyone know if Photoshop Elements 9 for the Mac is compatible with Mavericks?

Yes, but it is absolutely critical to delete all existing preferences after upgrading to 10.9.
I'm running PSE 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 in 10.9. PSE 11 has a slight problem (with a couple of filters) but otherwise it all works.

  • Is photoshop elements 12 compatible with mavericks?

    Hi,
I'm looking to get the elements and premiere elements 12 bundle but just wanted to check if it was compatible with mavericks 10.9.2. I've seen some places saying it isn't, but then other people saying they're running it on mavericks. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Stuart

Yes it is. The problems people had arose because they upgraded to Mavericks AFTER installing PSE in a previous OSX version - in those circumstances they needed to delete their PSE preferences after the upgrade.
