Is iWork for free?

iOS 7 new iDevice free iWork suite
New devices activated after Sep 1, 2013 and running iOS 7 or later will qualify for the free iWork suite (Pages, Keynote, & Numbers). iPhoto, and iMovie (which are not part of iWork) are also free. If you activated your device before Sep 1, 2013, your device does not qualify.
Try this:
Go here to verify your device registration (you'll need to login using your Apple ID credentials):
https://supportprofile.apple.com/
You can view your registered device(s) here and if there are any you've missed registering, you can do that as well. You can also register new devices here. Afterwards, visit the App Store and your free apps should be available to you.
*IF* this does not work, continue as follows:
Log out of the iTunes Store on your device:
Settings>iTunes & App Store...tap your Apple ID, then select "Sign Out"
Reset your device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
After the device has restarted, sign back in to the App Store as above. Try to download the apps again from the App Store.

Will I need to purchase iWork for my iPad if I purchase an iPhone 5s? Everybody knows the iPhone 5s with IOS7 gives iWork for free. I assume that if I buy an iPhone 5s (or 5c) then iWork would be listed as a "purchased" app in my itunes store under my account. My iPad retina is in the same account... or are keynote, pages, and numbers completely seperate between ipad and iphone? I know they would be a seperate purchase for my Powerbook. Thanks so much for your help!

    Hi,
I was able to load the Productivity Suite / Free !!  on both my iPad mini and my iPhone 5s with no problems and at no cost.

  • I read that I can have iworks for free on my iPad if I own a copy for my computer. Is this correct, and how do I download it wit out being charged?

There really is nothing more to say than what Allan has already said, but to explain just a little further, what you may have read is that once you purchase an iOS app in the app store, you do not have to purchase it again if you need to download it to another iOS device. In other words once you buy the app, you can load it onto unlimited iPhones, iPod Touches or iPads.
You must be using the same iTunes account that you originally purchased the app with in order to download it again. But as Allan said, just because you have it on your Mac does not entitle you to download it free to your iPad.

  • If I buy a mac with mountain lion and then upgrade to mavericks wil I get iWork for free, If I buy a mac with mountain lion and then upgrade to mavericks wil I get iWork for free

If I buy a mac with mountain lion and then upgrade to mavericks will I get iWork for free.

If you buy a new Mac with Mountain Lion, any included software is free and can be redownloaded from AppStore for that machine only. Some software only gets reinstalled if OS X (only) gets installed over itself to fix issues. See #8 Step here.
..Step by Step to fix your Mac
If you upgrade to Mavericks usually only OS X itself is changed (sometimes the hidden User Library is also), all the  software (and user accounts) also carries over (compatible or not), and Apple's software is upgraded.
So if your new Mountain Lion Mac comes with free iWork, then when you upgrade to Mavericks it will still be there.
If your new Mountain Lion does not come with free iWork, then it won't magically appear for free if you upgrade to Mavericks.
If you need a free Office suit, I suggest you look at the donationware LibreOffice.
You will likely need to control key or right click to "Open" LibreOffice to approve through OS X's "Gatekeeper".
You will need to manually update it also, as it's not on AppStore.
    https://www.libreoffice.org/
Benefit of LibreOffice is it's completely cross-platform compatible, so you can share working files with Windows and Linux users, which you can't with iWork.
You also should learn Microsoft Office when you have the funds, because it's standardized in the business world.

  • I just bought the new late 2013 iMac.  Can I get the new iWork for free?

I just bought a new late 2013 iMac.  Can I get the new iWork for free?  I updated it to Mavericks also.  The Mac App store is showing $19.99 for each iWork component (Pages, Numbers, Keynote).  I also bought the previous iWork version, if that matters.  Free updates for iPhoto and  iMovie seemed to show up with no problems.  Maybe these are just glitches that will clear up in a couple of days?

Hi.  If you want it to get updated, this should take care of it.
    1. Uninstall iWork from your Mac.
    2. Do a fresh install of iWork from DVD.
    3. Install iWork update from Apple Downloads (direct link here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563)
    4. Sign into the Mac App Store, and check for updates.  It should now show up as a free update.  You may have to give it a few minutes (i.e. 10-15 minutes).
I've been a Windows user for years, so I know all of the tricks by now.  I had hoped I would not need this knowledge for a Mac, but oh well...
    Good luck.

  • Buy a new iPhone 5 will get iWork for free?

In Indonesia, iPhone 5c and 5S isn't available yet. So I will buy a new iPhone 5 in this month. According to the support page (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5913), I will get iWork for free if I purchased Apple device after September 1, 2013. Is it real or I just misunderstand that statement in support page?

Does the Premium Reseller offer a return policy? If you purchased the phone in an Apple store you could return it within 14 days for a refund. If the store you're dealing with offer this you could buy the phone and go through the setup process. You'll soon learn what version of the iOS is installed.
Given that, i would add that it is not wise to continue running iOS 6 when there are no own security flaws. iOS 7 solves those problems and adds the activation lock to prevent thieves from activating your phone should it be stolen or you lose it somehow.

  • Cannot get iWorks for free, for new device

I bought a new iPad mini with retina display. I logged in to App store and I didn't download iWorks for free at that time. Later when I logged in to iTunes again, it indicated I need to pay instead of free.  How can i get it back for free?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Have you tried logging out of your account, back in and then trying again.

  • I got a new iphone 5 because they couldn't fix the old one, can I download Iwork for free, because it doesn't show free in app store

if you get a replacement iphone from apple after 1st of september can you download Iwork for free? Because it doesn't show free in the app store

Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iPhoto and iMovie are free only with new devices, a refurb does not count.

  • Getting iWork for free on a reset iPad Air

I recently purchased three (3) iPad Air 32 GB tablets for my workplace. One of the employees was dismissed, so that iPad was reset to accomodate another employee. I installed iWorks on all three iPad Airs originally for free.
The reset iPad Air can no longer get iWorks for free. Is this because the free offer is only for the first-time product activation?
    Thank You,
    Jeff

I believe you'll have to completely erase the iPad. Then, if your company ID was used originally, you should be able to re-download again without charge.

  • Why don't older customers get iWork for free?

I don't get why older customers don't get iWork for free. I just don't get it.

Nobody here can tell you why Apple doesn't always make free stuff available to everyone.  But you can give them your opinion about at

  • I have the new iphone 4s.  I thought we got iWork for free?  How do we get it?  The app store wants $$!

I bought the iphone 4s.  I switched from mobile me to icloud.  I thought we got iwork for free with the new software.  How do we get it for free?

The only "free" iWork apps are updates for previously purchased iWork apps to make them iOS 5 compatible.

  • Is there a way to get iWork for free?

I have iTunes and an account and an iPad. I thought that it would be logical to give iWork for free because on the big screen it is easy. Does anybody know if you could get iWork free and llegaly.

So do I. I paid for Pages for my iPad but I have iWorks on my Mac. The only way that I know of to get it for free and get it legally is to have someone else pay for it.
But seriously - there is no way to get the iWorks suite of apps for free on the iPad. I don't quite understand what you think getting it for free would be logical because it is easy on the big screen? Am I missing something?

  • I bought a Mac a week ago. How do I get the new iWork for free?

The title explains it all. I bought the new 13" MacBook air in a retail store last week, and when I tried to download the apps from the Mac App Store, they cost money. How do I get them for free?
