Is JavaScript automatically enabled on this browser

I need JavaScript and superuser. Enabled to be able to root my android optimus 2.2 without a computer. I kept trying with just my phone's browser but it will not root. I have tried many ways and it just won't work. Anyone's help would be so very much appreciated

In my experience, you can't root without having a custom recovery installed either TWRP or CWM and you need to overwrite system files by using a computer. I haven't seen any way to root any device without using a computer.
It depends on what Optimus you are using. There are several variants of the LG Optimus including the LG Optimus S for Sprint, Optimus V for Virgin Mobile, Optimus C for Cricket, and a few more.
Also, Javascript is enabled by default on Firefox so there's no need to enable it unless you went into about:config and disabled it but I don't think that happened since normal users don't know about it.
Since this is an off-topic question and not related to Firefox but rather your device, I'm going to close it. I would be happy to help you off of this forum if you would like. My contact info is in my profile page

    You sure seem to have both plugins, and latest versions.
    For testing that Javascript is working correctly, you can find test links and info in this article: [[Using the Java plugin with Firefox]].
    For testing Flash, we have the support article [[Managing the Flash plugin]].
    If either of these fail, look for help in the articles and/or let us know what results you get so we can provide further assistance for getting it fixed.
    If all seems to be in working order with both, you may have some extension blocking that particular page or application. I would recommend trying to start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] and test the FB application again - if this works out, you can try enabling your extensions (from menu Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) one by one to see which one causes the problem. If it still fails in Safe Mode, this strongly suggests that an external application is blocking execution - most likely a security application of some sort.
    Please let us know how above works out, and if we can be of further assistance. :-)

  • Unable to launch yahoo chess (Yahoo! Chess requires Flash Player 7 or later and JavaScript enabled in your browser.)

    When trying to launch/play chess from the yahoo games website, I get the following message: "Yahoo! Chess requires Flash Player 7 or later and JavaScript enabled in your browser''. I have verified that I do have Flash Player 10 installed and that JavaScript is enabled. I'm able to launch/play chess from Yahoo Games when I use IE as my browser.

    You either do not have Flash installed for Firefox or it is disabled.
    In Add-ons > Plugins, look for "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''".
    *If it is there and you see an "Enable" button, click the "Enable" button; that means it was disabled.
    *If it is not there, you do not have it installed; see the following.
    There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
    #'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
    #When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
    #Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
    #*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
    #*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.

  • How to disable 'Enable JavaScript' and 'Display PDF in browser' in Adobe Reader 9.1 msi?

    I'd like to how to disable 'Enable JavaScript' and 'Display PDF in browser' in Adobe Reader 9.1 msi.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    NeoChang:
    You can modify the installation package using the Adobe Customization Wizard to toggle the "Display PDF in Browser" but I have not found a setting to disable JavaScript from the Wizard. I have created a script which makes the changes, but it has to be run for every user since that info is stored in the User hive of the Windows registry.
    Disable JavaScript:
    REG ADD "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\JSPrefs" /v bEnableJS /d 0 /t REG_DWORD /f
    Disable Browser Integration:
    REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\Originals" /v bBrowserIntegration /d 0 /t REG_DWORD /f

    From the Firefox menu bar, select Tools -> Options -> Content and make sure the third box down entitled "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
    Your Firefox and plug-ins are outdated and introducing security risks to you. This can allow malicious people on the internet to take control of your machine without you knowing. Download a new version of Firefox. Uninstall the old version, then install the new version.

  • JavaScript not enabled?

    I am not a tech moron, but I have totally hit a wall with this (hopefully) small browsing problem.
    Every site that requires Java ceases to access the script. Therefore, I have no access to these sites.
    I have tried to reinstall the Java console, finagled the browser settings (the Javascript is enabled and I even turned off the firewall at points) , and tried IE, Mozilla, and Netscape -- all with the same problem.
    Again, everything else with the computer is fine. My connection is lightning fast, I have no spyware, etc. This slight little fault (no java allowed) is driving me crazy. What strikes me as odd is that the very first time I ran an anti-spyware program, the problem was fixed. Quickly, though, even after all spyware had been removed, the problem persisted.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?? I would absolutely dread re-installing the entire hard drive, and I doubt it would require something so drastic.
    As this is a work computer and time is of the essence, please conact me at [email protected] Thanks so much in advance.

    Sorry I don't have a solution but I have the same exact problem. I am considering contacting microsoft to see if Windows SP2 is the issue. If you find a solution please contact me, [email protected] I would greatly appreciate it, this problem is really bothering and stopping from trading.

  • Where is the tools on mozilla bcos i ned to check that javascript is enabled bcos i cant download adobe flash player without it

    i am trying to find the tools icon on my mozilla web browser bcos it wont let me download adobe flash player and ive donethe troubleshooting and i need to find the tolls to see if my javascript is enabled in order to download adobe flash player.can u help asap

    Have you got the NoScript add-on installed? That deals with turning on Javascript on a per site basis (it disables Javascript but you can enable it for chosen sites). If you have, then you'll need to change it so that either NoScript allows adobe.com or you can temporarily allow the site (right-click on the NoScript icon to change). Anyway, the NoScript website will have further help if this is the problem.
    If you don't have this add-on installed, then we'll need to check whether a setting in about:config has changed. about:config is Firefox's advanced configuration tool (so be careful). Open a fresh tab, enter "about:config" (no quotes) into the address bar, click the warning button (there be dragons), then enter "javascript.enabled" (no quotes) into the search bar of about:config, which should find the relevant setting. If Javascript is running, then its value should be set to true. If it's set to false, then you'll need to double-click the entry (or right-click and select toggle) to set it to true to enable Javascript.

    Hello mjswooosh,
    I'm very disheartened to hear that you've had ongoing problems when attempting to order from BestBuy.com. Our goal is ever to provide a fun and efficient shopping environment! Certainly creating aggravation serves neither you nor us and I apologize sincerely for this having been your experience.
    We recommend the troubleshooting steps you mentioned (i.e., clearing the browser cache, deleting temporary internet files and cookies) because this is the most common cause of this type of problem. I too have encountered this issue from time to time and these steps have almost always resolved the problem. I say almost always because there's one further step you can try: ensure that you have signed out of BestBuy.com, then perform the browser maintenance steps we've recommended. Afterward, before signing in to BestBuy.com, add your desired items to your cart and sign in as part of the checkout process. When the standard steps have not netted a resolution for me, this has solved the problem each time.
    I hope this helps. I'm very grateful that you took the time to write to us with your concerns and for sharing your very valuable feedback about your online experience.
    Sincerely,

  • How to chcek if Java Script is enabled for the browser

    Hi all,
    I wanted to know if there was any way to check if Java Scripts is enabled in the browser on which the jsp screen is being displayed. This type of check should be in Java and im working on a struts framework.
    Thanks

    There are multiple ways of doing it. Depends on wether you need this information only at the Client (browser) or do you need it at the Server.
    In case of Client its trivial. You could do it in HTML:
    <div id="jsEnabled" style="visibility:hidden">
    JavaScript is enabled
    </div>
    <div id="jsDisabled">
    JavaScript is disabled
    </div>The first div contains the text "JavaScript is enabled" while the second one says "JavaScript is disabled". The first div is also made hidden. Now, we attach the checkJavaScriptValidity function to the onload event of the page.
    <body onload="checkJavaScriptValidity()">checkJavaScriptValidity hides the second div and make the first one active. If JavaScript is enabled you will see the first div which says "JavaScript is enabled". If JavaScript is disabled you will see the second div which says "JavaScript is disabled".
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function checkJavaScriptValidity()
    document.getElementById("jsEnabled").style.visibility = 'visible';
    document.getElementById("jsDisabled").style.visibility = 'hidden';
    </script>But I guess since you want it to do it in Java, you'll need this information at the Server side as Browsers dont execute Java code. In that case you could just do an HTTP hit from a javascript function on load with information about the current session. But I still do not understand why would need this information at the server side as your purpose seems to be to ask the user to enable Javascript on his browser.
