Is JDeveloper is really free software ?

Hi all,
Is JDeveloper is really a free software just downloading it?, or is like other IDEs free for educational and not comercial porpouses?
thanks
Lorenzo Jimenez

JDeveloper is available for free download under the OTN license agreement. You can see the license before you download JDeveloper.
The license agreement specifically let you know what you can do with it for free (basically everything except developing production applications).
Unlike other Java development tools we are offering the complete verson with no time limit in this free download.
If you are using it to develop production application you can license it for $995 which is way cheaper than any comparable Java IDE.
To buy Oracle9i JDeveloper go to the Oracle Store at :

A few caveats about Lightworks video editor.
OS X version is free to download and use as a public beta testing.
This is a very comprehensive video editor, but for free use, you have to register as a public beta tester and every week you use this you have to re-register the app and answer a survey of questions about the software.
If you do not comply with the beta testing rules and procedures, and the developer believes you are not actively invovled with the beta testing to help develope and improve this app, the developer has the right to discontinue your free use of the software and you will no longer be able to use or activate the software.
I really wanted to try this software for free, but didn't want to have to be tied to the beta testing rules, constant developement surveys, questions and weekly re-registering as a beta tester for the use of this software.

  • Free softwares for MacBook Pro

    Hi all,
This is the newbie again. I found that software for Mac is very expensive. I don't if you know any sites offer free software for Mac? I really want to install my MS Office but don't have the Mac version.
    Thanks again for your help

"really want to install my MS Office but don't have the Mac version. "
You can purchase Office 2004 Student and Teacher edition from Amazon for about $115. Very cheap, and there is no verification required to show that you are a student or teacher.

  • Is 8i Personal really free?

Is the Oracle 8i Personal software available from this web site really free to download and use? What's the catch? I'd love to work on our company database on my home PC. Thanks!

The liscense agreement that comes with the "trial" software (i.e. your download) will tell you all you need to know (yep I am sorry but sometime you got to read the fine print).
You may wish to check with your company as to if they have any generic or "group" or global arragement with oracle. Some companies has blanket agreements that state for example: that any oracle product can run on any of that company's machines without restriction (since it has been paid for in advance). This is getting more and more common. This generally is extendable to employee home based machines (and even employee owned machines if the oracle work being done is for that company's needs etc, but again check your LA and ask your purchasing fellows).

  • Sd recovery, free software?

Please accept my apologies for asking a question not directly related to Aperture but there are a lot of good photographers out there who may have a recommendation.
I imported most of my photos into Aperture then like a fool put the SD into my camera and formatted. I lost just two .mov files.
App store has several apps which cost a lot more than the movies are worth to me, but trial version showed the files are recoverable.
I buy a lot of apps and I rarely use "free" software apart from those recommended on the forum (Etrecheck, Tinkertool Adware removal tool etc)  but  does anyone recommend a non-paid app which can recover these two files without installing adware, malware or expecting a pact with the forces of darkness?

I have not found a free one that I like, but there is one on the Mac App Store called CardRaider Pro ($20)
I really like the sandisk recovery software but don't use it enough (never) to justify a yearly fee.
    CardRaider works for me

  • Installing only free software

Is there a way to easily install only free software in Arch Linux? Something like Debian's free non-free repo's  or Gentoo's ACCEPT_LICENSE in make.conf?

WonderWoofy wrote:Unfortunately, I have seen specs of sysetm76 machines that indictate they ship with this same realtek card.  Hopefully this has been changed by now.
I don't want to derail the thread too much but my laptop is a System76 from this year and the only wi-fi options available were for Intel.
Anyway, the Intel wireless driver is open source but it requires a binary firmware blob. Personally I don't understand why it needs to be distributed as firmware then and not just flashed onto the card once and for all. Their argument for the binary blob is that certain aspects of a wi-fi card, such as the radio frequencies on which it operates, should not be open to tinkering because they would void the various approvals that the device receives (FCC and such, if I remember correctly); I would argue that if it shouldn't be open for tinkering and, indeed, it should never be changed, it should just be permanently flashed onto the card. But, I must confess general ignorance about the inner workings of wi-fi cards.
I think the only other device on my laptop that I can't use due to using linux-libre is the SD card reader but I don't really care about that, so I haven't even checked.

I'm using same apple id for my ipad & ipod but after start using the same apple id on my ipad, i can't update my free software downloaded on both, it's showing "YOU CAN NOT UPDATE THIS SOFTWARE SINCE YOU HAVE NOT OWNED THE MAJOR VERSION OF THIS SOFTWARE" so how i can update my softwares on ipad & ipod using the same apple id

I think the issue is that iTunes (for whatever reason) thinks I have two Apple ID's.
also, to further complicate the issue, when i try updating the apps from my iPod the iTunes store is still recognizing my old hotmail Apple ID. So when I go to enter my password it won't accept because it doesn't match with the old Apple ID, even though it is the same account (just new Apple ID name).
I have tried signing out within the App Store and re-signing in with my Apple ID but it still brings up my old Apple ID name when I try to update.

  • Free software to convert video on mac?

When looking for free software to convert some MTS and WMV files to play on my blackberry Z10, I found two software talked about most by people online, Handbrake and MacX Video Converter Free Edition.
Handbrake, I know it is popular among people, could convert any video to MP4 (M4V), MKV and convert videos for popular mobile players including iPad, iPod, Apple TV, PSP, etc.
While MacX Video Converter Free Edition is able to convert between HD videos MKV, M2TS, AVCHD and SD videos AVI, MP4, MOV, FLV etc. It also can easily convert videos to iPad 5, iPhone 5S, iPod, Samsung, HTC, PSP, Microsoft, Xbox and ,more as well as convert pictures into a slideshow video.
Anyone tried both of them? Which one is better?

When I download standard Video Podcasts H264/MPEG4 does the Itouch need to Transcode them? Example on the Creative Zen V plus downloading the latest edition of Cnet Live it took 13 minutes to convert the file. Will files downloaded from Itunes be about the same size from the download to the player? Example a 200Meg file downloaded to the Zen V Plus will convert to 1 Gig or more!
    Thanks for your help.

  • My mac book air has a virus which is creating a lot of issues...how do i get rid of it? is there a free software to detect it and remove it?

my mac book air has a virus which is creating a lot of issues...how do i get rid of it? is there a free software to detect it and remove it?

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • Arch Linux Turkish Community @ 8th Free Software and Linux Festival

    Hey There Guys,
We'd love to tell you about the latest news. We were at our stand all
day long on the very first day of 8th Free Software and Linux Festival.
    What we've done?
    * We've burnt 20 i686 and 10 x86_64 CD images and created paper CD cases
and gave everyone for free. (unfortunetly we were only capable of doing
40 of them and 30 cases since especially the cases were so expensive as
they were the best quality available)
    * Made some installations for people who needs help
    * Printed nearly 30 Turkish installation manual and gave them with the
    CD's..
    * Created a "Arch Linux on Tap" concept and made it available over the
network!    They is very cool though since anyone can put the plug in
and install Arch with our very new and fresh Arch mirror (that have i686
and x86_64 packages for core, testing, community, extra).
We'll continue to do introduce Arch Linux to visitors of the festival
and help them to discover the beauty!
We also have some pictures for you!    Comments are welcome!

Yeah, that's mine! (which runs Leopard for now but has several virtual Arch's on it..) I'm working on installing Arch on it.. (is a 3-4 years Arch user by now btw..)

Yes, the file extension is M4R.  Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook?  I then opened them in Itunes and played them.  I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes).  When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I am looking to work on an open source or GNU free software project.
So far I have found three places to shop:

    3) sourceforge
Are there any other major projects?
    I have an MSEE and 10 years C/C++ UNIX-centric, server-centric development

(Beans, xml, JSP, servlets, JDBC, etc.) I'm looking to get/give project experience

in ones face in this glutted techie labor market.

Why not join a project at java.net? http://java.net/
This - I've heard - is a great place to gain practical experience and do something with your training. Plus of course you will have to learn new things I presume, but that's a given with programming, istn' it?
