Is JHeadstart 9.0.4  released ?

Is JHeadstart 9.0.4 released ?

Almost. At this moment we are finalizing the documentation. There is a lot to be documented, so we cannot give you an exact date when this will be ready, but we expect somewhere in the next few weeks.

  • JHeadstart 10.1.3 Release Candidate Build

    Licensed JHeadstart users can now download the JHeadstart 10.1.3 Release Candidate (build 10.1.3.0.83) from the Consulting Supplement Option at cso.oracle.com.
    The release is certified against JDeveloper 10.1.3 and requires at least Service Update 2 to be installed. You can download the zipfile and install the extensions from the zipfile by opening JDeveloper 10.1.3 go to Help > Check for Updates > Install from Local Files > Browse.
    If you used previous builds of JHeadstart 10.1.3, you should be aware of the following:
    In the candidate release, the page definition is now re-created by default. This means that all bindings are removed prior to re-generation. If you manually added bindings using drag and drop, and you do not want to loose these bindings, you must uncheck the new group-level checkbox property "Clear Page Definition Before Generation". This property is only visible in expert mode.
    We expect to release the production release early next week.This release will not be available as a trial license on OTN. Only customers that subscribed to the JHeadstart Supplement Option are allowed to download this release.
    We plan to make a free-downloadable evaluation copy of JHeadstart 10.1.3 available on OTN by the end of August 2006. This evaluation copy contains all functionality of the production release, but has the restriction that the ADF Business Components model project can only contain 10 View Objects.

    Hi,
    I am having trouble downloading the 84 build. I am getting a Page Not Found error when I click on the click. I am, however, able to download the center.xml file.

  • From JHeadstart 1012 UIX to JHeadstart 1013 JSF : bc4j.xcfg issue

    Greetings
    After doing all the procedures announced in the JHeadstart 10.1.3 release notes (the project compiles successively). When running the application this error emerges :
    500 Internal Server Error
    oracle.jbo.ConfigException: JBO-33001: Cannot find the configuration file /myApp/model/common/bc4j.xcfg in the classpath
    at oracle.jbo.client.Configuration.loadFromClassPath(Configuration.java:367)     at oracle.jbo.common.ampool.PoolMgr.createPool(PoolMgr.java:284)     at oracle.jbo.common.ampool.PoolMgr.findPool(PoolMgr.java:539)     at oracle.jbo.common.ampool.ContextPoolManager.findPool(ContextPoolManager.java:165) .... etc... etc...
    The bc4j.xcfg is in place.
    I've also added the bc4j.xcfg path to the list of 'resources' paths in Model (Project Properties > Project Content > Resources).
    When trying to edit the file (Application Module > right click > configurations) all goes well. It actually saves data correctly into it.
    Any suggestion ?
    Thanks

  • About JHeadstart  Basics 0f 10?-

    hi JHeadstart experts,
    good morining to all :)
    here am new bie to JHeadstart. less than a bit i know about jdeveloper/adf,Oracle Forms,Reports in 10g.
    i had some basic question? my brain knocks ask this question to experts explicitliy(no hidden)
    some question may be for you silly. dont igonre that, mention it and reply for that also.
    1.What is JHeadstart?
    2.Current release version of JHeadstart.?
    3.JHeadstart Vs jdeveloper/adf?
    4.Where can i download Jheadstart recent version?
    5.Is this free of cost for development mode?(like jdeveloper)
    6.skills required for Jheadstart.?
    7.Basic tutorials needs for Jheadstart?
    8.In jdeveloper there is Interegrted weblogic server and standalone wls, here jheadstart something like that?
    I go through the "Read this Before Post" not yet documented such basic question as like Oracle Sql/Pl-Sql forums.
    if you documented and hosted in "Read this Before Post" as such people like me it will really helpful for all(Atleast for me)
    9. Forms2ADF- is this means forms10g to Jheadstart ?
    10. "Jheadstart is a generator that creates an ADF application" here i understud somewhat. I expect some more in detail.
    thanks$$regards
    ADF7.

    I'll provide some quick answers as best as I can, though there are others on the forum that might have more detail.
    1. JHeadstart is an addon for JDeveloper (installed through the Help->Check for Updates menu) which allows you to configure and build an ADF web interface without having to build each individual page yourself.
    2. current release is 11.1.1.3, which works with JDeveloper 11.1.1.4. (next release currently in testing, no set release, but sometime soon)
    3. JHeadstart uses JDeveloper/ADF, it just allows you to take some shortcuts in building your View/Controller layers. You can extend a JHeadstart app with pretty much anything you could do in JDev/ADF without JHeadstart.
    4. you can get a trial version (with some limitations) from the Oracle Downloads site.
    5. It's not free, you'll have to contact Oracle for licensing details.
    6. Knowledge of the basics of JDeveloper and ADF development. It's useful to have at least done the tutorials for basic ADF.
    7. There is a tutorial (pdf doc) available, also on Oracle Downloads site. It will walk you through building a basic app in JHeadstart.
    8. JHeadstart is an addon for JDeveloper, once it generates your application interface, running and testing that interface works just like any other JDeveloper/ADF application.
    9. Never used the Forms2ADF feature, so can't answer on that.
    10. This means pretty much what it says. You use JHeadstart to define the parameters of the interface you want to develop, JHeadstart then uses those parameters to generate your ADF interface (jspx pages, jsff fragments, adfc-config pageflows, pagedef files, etc.)

  • Oracle JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2) has been certified ?

    In this Oracle JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2) have many bug fix.
    Is Oracle JHeadstart 10g Release 9.0.5.1 has been certified with the Oracle JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2) ?

    To summarize the position of JHeadstart for ADF (JHeadstart 10.1):
    Almost a year ago, we already announced the JHeadstart for ADF release, explaining how you can ensure that the migration will go as smooth as possible. See the forum thread at its Jheadstart like ADF? .
    This information was also included in the JHeadstart Frequently Asked Questions (see questions 15 and 15a) at http://www.oracle.com/technology/consulting/9iservices/jhs_faq_ext905.htm .
    Quote from the JHeadstart FAQ:
    If you already use JHeadstart we recommend you to upgrade to the new version of JHeadstart (9.0.5.1) do the following to make the migration from this JHeadstart release to the JHeadstart-ADF release as smooth as possible:
    [ul][li]
    * generate as much as possible of your application using the JAG. The metadata structure will stay the same, but the generator output will be fairly different.
    [li][li]
    * put all your business logic in BC4J app modules or ViewObjects. Do not put a lot of code in handler business methods, but have the handler business methods delegate to the corrsponding AM or VO. The reason for this is that the handlers will go away in ADF, ADF allows you to drag and drop your (client exported) AM/VO methods directly onto your page or Struts action.
    [li][ul]
    If you have not used JHeadstart before you can either start using ADF or JHeadstart and make the switch to ADF when JHeadstart-ADF release comes out like described above. In all circumstances it is a good choice to familiarize yourself with ADF. Good knowledge of this framework is required when you use the JHeadstart-ADF release.
    JHeadstart is the only tool that offers you migration of your existing application structure and data operations to the ADF Model (Data Controls and Data Bindings).
    Furthermore, the new JHeadstart 10.1.0 release (compatible with JDeveloper 10.1.2.0.0) will be able to generate more features than the previous release JHeadstart 9.0.5, which means that you will need less post-generation changes.

  • [JHS 10.1.2]  Table layout not warning for losing changes

    I have a table layout in which I can change data.
    When I change data but don't commit (or in case of end-users forget) and navigate to the next 10 records in the table I get no warning that I will loose my changes.
    I guess this is fixed in production version? Could you please confirm this.
    Regards,
    Marcel

    Marcel,
    The JHeadstart 10.1.2 release notes of the latest 10.1.2 build mention a JDeveloper bug 4509014. Can you check if this explains your problem?
    Does your page include file upload? If not, then you can avoid this bug by setting formSubmitted=true on the table. The latest build of JHeadstart 10.1.2 already generates this correctly.

  • Dynamic tabs template version

    Does JHS 11.1.1.3.35 use the Oracle Dynamic Tabs Page Template 1.02 patch? Or do I have to install that separately?

    We use some classes, not the actual classes.
    In the upcoming JHeadstart 11.1.1.4 and JHeadstart 11.1.2 releases, we will no longer use anything of Oracle Dynamic Tabs Page Template, we have written a better and more feature-rich implementation.

    i can't get my messages application to send messages

    Hi Steven,
    Which J2EE container do you recommend? We are still using a JHeadstart 9i UIX application for almost 2 years every day with 150 users without problems on a cheap Celeron 1GHz PC with Tomcat 4.5!!
    Is it necessary to upgrade to Tomcat 5 for JHeadstart 10g applications? Which version will be preferred when JHeadstart ADF Faces is released?
    We have installed a RedHat Linux server last week for Hippo CMS using Jetty. Can we move our JHeadstart applications on Tomcat to this server without any problems?

  • How to make "Duplicate Row" button work with LOV

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper version: Studio Edition Version 10.1.3.1.0.3984
    JHeadstart version: 10.1.3.1 Release 10.1.3.1.26
    We have a VO where there are 2 EOs - one is Updatable and one is Reference.
    We are using Association for the Reference EO.
    In the page we have a LOV and from the LOV we are redirecting some fields including some fields for the Reference EO (to show only).
    Everything works fine.
    But the problem is, - we checked the "Show Duplicate Row Button?" option in the Application Definition file.
    when we click the "Duplicate Row" button then we get the error:
    javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: oracle.jbo.ReadOnlyAttrException: JBO-27008: Attribute set for UserId in view object Userpermission_under_Personalinfo_View_for_Owner failed
    the attribute UserId is from Reference EO in the VO.
    Can anybody suggest how we can make the duplicate work in this case?
    And one more thing - If we check the "Show Duplicate Row Button?" option in JHeadstart Application Definition file, it shows the "Duplicate Row" button in the table layout. Is there any way so that we can put the "Duplicate Row" button in the form layout or do we have to do it using a .vm file modification ?
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Syed,
    This is fixed in a later JHeadstart 10.1.3 release.
    If you don't want to upgrade, you need to override the duplicate row method in JhsCollectionModel as follows:
    public void duplicateRow(ActionEvent event)
    DCIteratorBinding ib = getRangeBinding().getIteratorBinding();
    int rangeSize = ib.getRangeSize();
    int rowsInRange = ib.getAllRowsInRange().length;
    int insertPos = 0;
    if (!isNewRowsAtTop())
    insertPos = rowsInRange < rangeSize? rowsInRange: rangeSize - 1;
    Row currentRow = ib.getCurrentRow();
    Row row = ib.getRowSetIterator().createRow();
    row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_NEW);
    ib.getRowSetIterator().insertRowAtRangeIndex(insertPos, row);
    AttributeDef[] attrs = ib.getAttributeDefs();
    for (int i = 0; i < attrs.length; i++)
    if (!attrs.isPrimaryKey() &&
    (attrs[i].getUpdateableFlag() == AttributeDef.UPDATEABLE ||
    attrs[i].getUpdateableFlag() ==
    AttributeDef.UPDATEABLE_WHILE_NEW))
    String attrName = attrs[i].getName();
    row.setAttribute(attrName, currentRow.getAttribute(attrName));
    ib.setCurrentRowIndexInRange(insertPos);
    discloseRow(row, true);

  • Intersection Shuttle

    Hi,
    I have implemented an intersection-shuttle with JHS following the Oracle JHeadstart 10g for ADF Release 10.1.3. It works fine, but when I try to delete a selected row, it disappears of the list but not of the database.
    Any suggestions?

    Am I right that you want to delete a row in the intersection table, by shuttling it from the selected list to the unselected list and clicking Save?
    Enable the ADF Business Component Diagnostics (see http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/bcquerying005.htm#CHDBBEEB), and check which update/delete commands are sent to the database. Maybe that helps to identify what happens.
    Hope this helps,

  • Transformed Oracle Des6i module doesn't make connection to database

    I transformed an Oracle Designer6i module into a JHS application inside JDEV 10.1.2.1 using the JDG Wizard. I created the 2 connections, 1 to the repository and 1 to the database. The repository connection was good because it found the Des6i module to transform. However, there was no database connection.
    If I create an application from scratch, not using the Des6i module, I can connect to the database.
    Does anyone have some suggestions for what I might look for? I am VERY new with these tools. I have the Oracle JHeadstart 10g for ADF (Release 10.1.2.1) Developer's Guide for my teacher. Thank you.

    Did you test the database connection in the Connection Navigator tab? Can you connect sussfully, and if you expand this connection node, do you see the correct tables?
    If so, your ADF BC Application Module might not be configured properly to use this connection. To fix this, do the following:
    - right mouse click on your application module and choose "Configuration"
    - Click the Edit button
    - Select the correct ConnectionName using the Connection Name drop down list.
    - Click OK twice
    - Right-mouse-click again on the application module and choose "Test..." A tester window occurs where you can double-click on a ViewObject to perform a query. If that works, your Jhs application should work too.

  • JDeveloper 9.0.5 apps with Oracle Lite 10g

    Hello:
    Has anyone else attempted to develop an ADF UIX Struts Web application using JDeveloper 9.0.5 and deploying the application to an Oracle Lite 10g Webtogo environment. We have a need to have offline activity on the client machine, storing the data in an Oracle Lite 10g database, until the user can connect to a database server for a synchronization cycle.

    Jim,
    We didn't certify JHeadstart against the production release of JDeveloper 10g (9.0.5.1)yet. The document that you probably used refers to the preview release of JDeveloper 10g.
    We are in the process of certifying and didn't make our initial planning. We are struggling with some last issues. We will keep this forum informed about the new release.
