Is keynote included in iWork?

Is keynote included in iWork when purchased? Is it possible to buy iWork for Macbook pro and buy only keynote for ipad?

While Keynote is part of iWork, iWork can no longer be purchased as a combined package of those 3 applications as they are all now sold separately on the App Store.
To purchase Keynote for OS X you use the App Store from your Mac and for iOS you use the iTunes Store from either within iTunes on your Mac or directly on your iOS device.

Hi, How can I add videos in keynote(or other iwork apps)?
I found that keynote can only add photos, but if I want to show the video in my slide , how can I make it? (my video is not take by my ipad, it is import from my computer, and my computer is Win7 ). Also how can I add the audio files as well?
Does here some methods can save the ipad memory?
       Thanks alot.

    Hi,
I have a similar problem. I transfered the videos I took with my ipod touch 4g 64gb and now I wanted to add them back into my ipod on photos Camera Roll. I went to the photos tab and checked "Include Videos" but everytime it starts to sync, Itunes stops working and a popout appears and says that Itunes encountered a problem and needs to shut. What can I do?

Can I put Keynote (or any iWork) with or without OS X on a flash-drive and then plug and play that from a PC? I need to do a powerpoint style presentation and would like to use Keynote.
Is it possible to bring everything I need on a flash-drive and make it work through a normal PC that the classroom provides to run these presentations on a big screen?
    Thanks!

no. you can certainly not put just a few iwork apps on the flash drive. you can install the whole OS X on such a drive if it's big enough but it will absolutely not run on a PC. it will only run on a mac.

in my experience all such classrooms allow you to plug in your own laptop and give a presentation from it. that would be the only way to run keynote there - by bringing your own mac laptop and plugging it in.
    Thanks!

iWork contains all 3 of those apps.

  • Keynote (and other iWork apps) not saving properly!

    Hi all
I have had some strange problems over the last few weeks where I get messages telling me that iWork (usually Numbers) cannot save the files as 'something else' is using the file.  So I click 'save anyway' and I get strange files in folders, ie folder and file name is the original name plus some gooblygook.
I have got round this by deleting the 'extras' and carrying on.  But now I am preparing a major presentation in Keynote and suddenly it is not saving graphics some of the time!
For example I was working on a slide - and suddenly got a message that 'some problems occured' -
    Couldn’t save image. - image.png (Slides: 12, 13, 17, 18; Skipped slide count: 1)
    Couldn’t save image. - image.png (Slides: 12, 13, 17, 18; Skipped slide count: 1)
I have been working with this presentation for some time and have never encountered any problems - passing between my laptop and my iPad to review and modify (mainly viewing on the iPad and editing on the MacBook).
Any ideas what is happening?  I have a major presentation to give in just over a week and I don't want to use PowerPoint!
    Thanks
    Ian

I've been having some success NOT using any files that have previous images or audio in them, starting from a base template and then adding audio and video and photos that are already on my hard drive, not previous Keynote files. Today I needed five slides that were part of another deck and, you guessed it, they were corrupted (or missing) when I reopened the file, only the thumbnails remaining.
I closed the original Keynote file, placed a zip extension, then control- clicked to see the contents. The images were missing from the package. I then replaced the extension with .key and reopened in Keynote. The audio file had been there but not the images or the drawing, which I then searched for.
Yes, delete the weird file backups and make a backup of the original in the finder. Then lock it! (You're using Mountain Lion?)
I have a huge presentation tomorrow. I have five backups, including on a thumb drive.
    How much longer Apple?

  • Keynote (and general iWork) constantly crashing

Running Keynote 4.02 on PowerBook G4 with OS 10.4.11 and things were OK for a while but now the program crashes "unexpectedly" following a click of many of the menu tools (esp Inspector). Not using Pages or Numbers much but a check with Numbers also indicated similar instability.
I have tried: deleting the plist and reinstalling the iWork software. I have tried repairing permissions. Still not behaving.
    Please advise!

You know, there MIGHT be, but I'm not sure if it would interfere with the running of the program.
I'm not even sure why Apple feels it's important for iWork to be where they want it to be (iLife is the same way). I think others that have felt the need to organize the Applications folder (like the old OS9 way of doing things) have either determined that they'll have to constantly move folders or have decided it's not worth moving (or have moved their organization of apps to the Dock, for example).
Maybe that's why there's no solution to the .plist or .com question.

  • How do I share a Keynote presentation when iWork ceases?

My keynote presentation is enormous so e-mailing is not really an option, the recipient is new to all things iPad, so what is the easiest way to share a presentation?
I know I can upload it to my computer but that seems unweildy.
If they are ditching iWork they should have a solution, but iCloud only seems to work with your own documents and devices....

    Not done, sorry.
so sending by mail didn't work either, because the Keynote 13 file could not be attached to a mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Keynote 09 can as can PowerPoint). This is ridiculus. This is Apple trying really hard to make it impossible for people to work with their software

  • Keynote upload to iWorks fails repeatedly

I'm new to iWork. I built my first Keynote presentation just for fun, and I decided to try sharing it via iWork.com. It has not been a good experience. I clicked the Share button, and the process started. The progress meter indicated that the upload was in progress. After about 4-5 minutes, a message box popped up to announce that an error had occurred, and would I please try again. Well, I've tried again and again, and every attempt ends the same way.
This 4-slide file shows up in Finder as just 490 KB. Why does this file bloat to more than 5 MB when I'm trying to upload it? The first time, I let the upload proceed with the default settings (upload as Keynote, PDF, and PowerPoint). I thought those settings had something to do with the file size, so I changed them to send up only a Keynote file. That change did not affect the outcome at all: The file size was still 5+ MB.
What's causing the errors? I'm sure it could have something to do with my wireless network or my ISP, but I'm looking for every possibility.

Update--I rebooted the ISP's box and my router and tried uploading once more. This time it worked without a hitch. The wireless network must have caused the error.
I'm still wondering why my little 490 KB file with just four slides grows into more than 5 MB when I try to upload it to iWork. Any ideas...? Anyone...?

  • IWork '08 / Keynote '08 vs. iWork '09 / Keynote '09

I'm trying to open a iWork Keynote 08 presentation with Keynote '09 and it will not open. Apple says it will and it won't. I've paid good money for these programs over the last few days and nothing is working right. I'm trying to work with these programs and it won't work. My client is counting on this presentation on the iPad - WHAT'S THE DEAL? Can someone help???? Of course, PowerPoint works without glitches and if my client didn't want to use the iPad we wouldn't use it at all!

Here again, I don't have an iPad, so I can't really test this. But a couple more options for you.
Take the Keynote file that is open in Keynote '09 and open a new presentation (again, make sure it is Keynote '09) and drag and drop the slides from the original to the new Keynote. Save the new presentation and try it. There may have been some problem with the first file that isn't allowing it to open in Keynote on the iPad.
Then next option to try is to remove all transitions, builds and make sure that all fonts that are used are supported on the iPad. Then if you can open it in Keynote on the iPad, add back in transitions and builds. I don't think that all the transitions and builds that are available in Keynote for the Mac are supported in the Keynote for iPad and I am not sure if all the same fonts are.
If neither of these work, you can post in the forum dedicated to iWorks for iPad and see if they have any other ideas.

  • How to download a keynote presentation from iWork to iPhone Keynote app?

    Hi all,
I have installed Keynote for iPhone and it looks good. My questions is, how to download a presentation which I saved to my iWork cloud previously to Keynote to show offline? It's relatively easy for the iPad -- open the preso and tap "show in Keynote", but no such thing in iPhone.
Am I missing something obvious here or is it not available?
    Thanks!

You can turn on iCloud on both devices to share the document "in the Cloud".

  • Can't install Keynote 2012 over iWork 2009

    Hi guys,
I'm an «historical» user of iWorks 2009. I would like to upgrade the Keynote program alone but when I try to buy it from the App Store it refuses to install claiming that «An older version of Keynote is already present» and suggesting me «to go trhough the "update software" service» to get the new version.
As you can guess… the update service doesn't propose any upgrade.
I've tried to manually delete the Keynote'09 from the App Folder but the App Installer stil claims about the presence of the predecessor.
So, the question is: how can I upgrade just Keynote to the last version? without touching Pages and Numbers?
I would precise that I bought iWorks before Apple lanched the App Store for Mac applications.
    Thanks folks…

There is no "Keynote 2012".  The Keynote standalone app that is now available in the Mac App Store is the same as the one that came on the iWork '09 install disc, it's just been (very slightly) updated for Mountain Lion and iCloud compatibility.
If you have been doing your software updates, your existing (that is, before you deleted it) version of Keynote should have received the incremental updates over the years.  You could confirm this by looking at the actual version number of Keynote in the MAS (v. 5.2) and the one on your hard drive (select it in the Applications/iWork/ folder and do a Get Info by pressing Command-I).
As for when we might ever see a Keynote '12... or '13... or '14... frankly, I've stopped holding my breath....

  • How do I share keynotes now that iWork is gone? Online sharing with others was fantastic.

We used to use Keynote to share our presenations with many others...
being able to see them directly ONLINE and thru any web-browser was a fantastic feature.
Now that its gone.. is there an alternative? Is Apple going to fill that gap?

Hey thanks... yea thats too bad actually... I think Apple needs to realize really soon that the Application is no longer defined by its limits on the machine... the cloud and specifically interaction with OTHER people working on documents, files etc - is very much a critical feature that needs to be supported and grown forwards....
Keynote was great not because I could toss a PDF up for people to download... but beacuse I could SHARE a real presenation that had some nice flow thru a web-based interface meaning ANYONE could view it and experience as I intended it to be.... PDF does not capture that same glory...
Nor does it allow those participants to help me craft that presenations thru comments, notes and online discussion.... Keynote was more than an app that makes presentations....
it was a collaborative tool that allowed groups to interact as ONE towards building a better presentation...and Apple fully dropping that so far is a huge dissapointment.... cloud sharing is NOT the same as collaborative sharing....
I wish Steve was still around.... I'd send him an email about it.   I hope someone is listening over there.... I imagined that you had something else up your sleeve... but now that iWork is really gone and nothing has come to replace it...Im afraid that you may have just dropped the ball.... on your foot.
    Kick it!

  • Impossible to update Keynote when other Iwork applications have been deleted?

    Hi,
I've got Keynote installed on my MacBookPro and would like to update my version 5.03 to 5.05.
However, after having downloaded the IWork update it says that it cannot perform the update as Pages cannot be found on my HD.
I always delete Pages (and whatever other applications are in the package, as I don't ever use them), and can't seem to find it neither backed up or the original installation DVD (maybe Iwork was already installed on the Mac when I got it - I can't remember).
So, my question is, is it possible to get an update that can update only Keynote ?
(or at least somehow bypass the installation package's problem that it cannot find Pages etc. ?)
    All the best,
    Elainie

Upon first-time turning on the Mac, you were asked for an Apple ID during the initialization routine. Whatever you entered, that's the one the App Store is expecting for letting you download the updates.

  • IWork 09 keynote demo will not let me tun it off, what should I do?

I was checking out iWork 06, but my thirty day trial had expired. I skipped 08 and went right to 09 since all three are on my computer, not the paid version, just the come on part. I opened the keynote folder from inside the iWork 09 folder which I found in Applications along with 06 and 08 version. When the demo opens up it goes right to full screen, not just any old full screen, the cursor can not shrink the screen or effect the screen in any way except click on arrows. Keynote will not allow me to log off or shut down my computer. I can start the process of either of those two, when it gets down to the last second keynote page is up on the screen and running it's little demo. I can not see the tool bar to quit keynote from the drop down because the keynote full screen is so full it goes beyond the physical limits of my screen. The keyboard short cuts have no effect on the keynote demo from iWork 09.

so Keynote still isnt working after installing, I thought you had it sorted from your last post.
If you have not done so remove any files relating to iWork and Keynote and reinstall iWork
    files that must go are:
    the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications;
the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support
