Use Toast, it makes "Audio DVD's" (which are not the same as the DVD-Audio standard but a huge disk of audio files).

Labview 2010 and MSSCCI Source Control for TFS

Hi,
I am trying to get Labview to work with the MS TFS source control using the MSSCCI provider. In our team we are using the TFS to manage a number of Visual Studio projects and i need to integrate labview into the existing source control.
Having said that, I am having an issue selecting the MSSCCI provider in the labview source control window, when I select it i get the following error message:
"Error -2971 occurred at prefPage_Source Control.vi
Possible Reason(s):
LabVIEW: An error occurred while accessing the source control provider. The specified provider was not found."
Now i looked up that error code and it has somethint to do with some PerForce source control client, which I am not using.
Just for giggles, I installed the new PerForce client as per the following LV article http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9C42F3F1627CE0A78625768F007A7D03
but that did not help, now I have the PerForce client as an option in the SourceControl Provider name in LV (which i do not need) and labview still complains when I try to pick the TFS MSSCCI provider.
Any help could be greatly appriciated.

Out of curiosity, what registry values do you see in the "InstalledSCCProviders" key in the registry editor? The value data should point to the key that the "SCCServerName" value is at. In other words, the underlined portions below should match.

I was able to reproduce your error when I changed the value data so that the underlined portions above do not match; it may be that your issue is caused by a registry inconsistency.

Up to 60 lb parabolic dish antenna.
Need 1 degree positioning accuracy (on 30 mi target).
Motor postioning signal from an ethernet or Rs232 connection.
We will send control signals (in required re-format of lat, long and elevation) converted to control motor positioning in azimuth and elevation of the dish.
Need rugged for out door use.
At close in ranges need motor speed to track target.
Like to have software control to implement/adjust [lead/lag, possibly implement signal tracking] on the fly.

Okay, I have noticed every single highlighted word is a link direct to Ebay. Nowhere else. I wonder how much Ebay paid Apple to do this. Random words scattered throughout the internet, but it seems most prevalent on internet forums. I am feeling pretty annoyed that my iPad has turned itself into a portable advertising campaign for Ebay. The highlighting of random numbers or phrases for maps or as phone numbers continues.

What are resources that one has to use motion control in LabView?

I am a newbie at Labview and I am trying to get a stepper motor to drive a shaft for one rotation (the shaft is attached to a bearing which will rotate a laser around a fixed object in the center). I am very limited in experience and I am wondering if ValueMotion is the way to go. Do you have to purchase the PC controller from NI to use value or flex motion? It would appear that using the intialization and setup VI's that ship with LV 6i would be the easiest and quickest route.
What demos/programs for labview will be best in helping me in my efforts? I have yet to even select the controller or stepper motor for this application.

LabVIEW and an NI motion controller for your PC are an excellent combination for the application that you describe. To answer your specific questions...Yes the ValueMotion and FlexMotion VI's require a PC based controller from NI. For your application, either the 7334 stepper controller (ValueMotion) or the 7344 step/servo controller (FlexMotion) will do the trick. For straighforward stepper control as you describe in your application, ValueMotion is fine and the VI's for init, setup and operation should have you up and running quickly. FlexMotion provides a significant level of motion capability and overall system integration that may enhance your total application, but that's difficult to determine from your brief description.
Most
any Stepper Motor requires a power driver unit like the MID7602, and the selection of this component really depends on the motor that you choose and its associated torque and speed requirements in your system.
Both ValueMotion and FlexMotion VI libraries provide motion demos that you can use interactively as well as VI's that you can integrate into your overall laser based LabVIEW application.

LabView Beginner embarking on Motion/Vision App.

I am embarking on my first big LabView project; a motion controlled vision application that is going to measure the diameter of the bore of a glass tube. I would like to get as much information and ideas as possible from as many colleagues as are interested in helping out. I bet not. A lot of programmers (especially new) get nervous at the beginning of a project. I think people on the whole don't give themselves enough credit in what they can do, plus they want to do good for thier boss, then add time constraints on top of that and the butterflies come rushing in. Take a step back and look at the 80% of the program that won't be hard.
What will the program do on startup. What do you need to handle when shutting down? What errors do you expect and where? Are you going to use some sort of ini file to store and load program parameters? What are they? Write them down. Write this code. How about error logging to disk(good for debugging sections of code that you are questioning how it might behave? How will the front pane
ls that the users will interact with look? Draw them or make mock ups in labview. What will each button do on these front panels? Write this down. As a matter of fact, write down everything, make a project folder and keep good notes. Why you did something as well as why you didn't do something. You will start see what parts of the program are seperate from others and code those parts that are easy. Keep libraries for seperate sections so as not to mix up stuff that doesn't belong together (makes debug very easy).
Lastly, consult with experts in the areas that are too hard for you (like the contact you already received). Don't forget about this forum. This will fill in the last 20%.
Talk to a NI sales rep who area is IMAQ vision. They make a commision so they will be happy to set you up with the equipment that will do the job for you along with the help you need in figuring out what you need.

When you open a Motion Control compatible program, like PowerPoint, or the Windows Photo app, Harmony should ask you whether you want to enable Motion Control. After you enable it, the camera turns on each time you open the app.
I'm not able to find a list of Motion Control compatible programs.
It's of limitied utility, so I leave it disabled.
