Is latest Firefox able to run on Mac OS X v10.4.11?

When I installed latest Firefox version on Mac OS x v10.4.11 it crashed and rported that there was an error which I should report. I did, but no answer nor help has come forth since.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Why my Wimax USB  was not run in Mac OS X v10.7 Lion ?

How can i connect my Wimax USB to Mac OS X v10.7 Lion

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a communication technology for wirelessly delivering high-speed Internet service to large geographical areas. The 2005 WiMAX revision provided bit rates up to 40 Mbit/s[1][2] with the 2011 update of up to 1 Gbit/s for fixed stations. It is a part of a “fourth generation,” or 4G, of wireless-communication technology. WiMax far surpasses the 30-metre (100-foot) wireless range of a conventional Wi-Fi local area network (LAN), offering a metropolitan area network with a signal radius of about 50 km (30 miles). The name "WiMAX" was created by the WiMAX Forum, which was formed in June 2001 to promote conformity and interoperability of the standard. The forum describes WiMAX as "a standards-based technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL".[3] WiMax offers data-transfer rates of up to 75 Mbit/s, which is superior to conventional cable-modem and DSLconnections. However, the bandwidth must be split among multiple users and thus yields lower speeds in practice.[4]
Your question makes no sense based on the Wikipedia definition of WiMax above.

  • Why does latest Firefox 27 freeze on the Mac after I leave minimized for a few hours?

    Mac OS 10.6.8
Just updated from FF 26 to FF 27. My issue is that now if I minimize Firefox (using the yellow button in top left corner) and then go away from my computer for a few hours, such as overnight, when I try to restore FF it either will take upwards of one minute to restore, or often won't restore at all, requiring me to force quit it. I can sit here and minimize and restore many times over and over immediately with no issue; it seems to require a "time component" of sitting there minimized for many hours for the issue to manifest itself.
I have the Activity Monitor running and it doesn't show any CPU load worth mentioning during or after this, and i have over 5GB of 8GB total memory free. Nor do I have any other apps running most times except just firefox on this computer.
I can honestly say this issue appeared overnight; did not experience this with version 26, but certainly am now with 27 starting the day I upgraded. The "solution" seems to be to just NOT minimize firefox, and quit / restart regularly?

  • Moving from america to new zealand. Will I be able to run my macs ok?

I have a 21.5" imac, macbook air, and macbook pro. Will i just be able to buy new power cables that are made for NZ outlets there? Particularly on the iMac, the cable that runs out of the back. Is the output on the iMac same regardless of country?

    Hi Noah
Yes the electrical requirements for Intel iMac's is 100-240V, so all you need to do is pick up a NZ power cord for it. > http://support.apple.com/kb/SP576

  • Firefox 18.0 running on Mac 10.6.8: Error message "Well, this is embarrassing."

My computer recently upgraded to Firefox 18.0, and since then Firefox has been usable. With every link, I get a revolving, multi-colored wheel and, eventually, the following error message:
    Well, this is embarrassing.
Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page.
    You can try:
Removing one or more tabs that you think may be causing the problem
Starting an entirely new browsing session
I can't figure out how to fix the problem. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

I started the same problem after upgrading to firefox 20 and I use no
extensions. It happens everytime I start up. I tried safe mode - no good.
I am not sure what to do next. I am a senior citizen and I would love
a reliable answer that is not in "techlish"

This update is required to run After Effects CS6 on Mac OSX v10.9 (Mavericks).

Thank you, Todd. I (and many others, I'm sure) are glad to see Adobe still supporting the older (purchased) software. Not a lot of companies do that sort of thing.

  • History, bookmarks and navigation have stopped working in firefox 3.6.8 for mac

    Firefox 3.6.8; Mac OS 10.5.8
The history function doesn't record anything; all my bookmarks are gone; I can't make any new bookmarks either. I tried safe mode, nothing changed. My forward/back arrows go away some times too. I tried reinstalling firefox and repairing permissions. I found the bookmarks file but it is the default one - not mine. Even the default firefox bookmarks won't show up! What is the problem?

  • Autoscrolling stopped working in Firefox 3.6.28 for Mac OS 10.4

I have two Mac G4 desktop computers and have always had autoscrolling Firefox. Now the feature is no longer working. I don't recall updating Firefox recently, but can't go beyond my current version, 3.6.28 because the machines are not Intel.
The autoscroll is very useful. I have tried checking the Preferences..Autoscrolling is checked. I have tried restarting. No luck. I cannot start in Safe Mode as there is no option for it.
If there is some fix for this, it's not apparent on the Firefox Help Website.
So any suggestion that would restore this feature will be very much appreciated. It doesn't seem to be a plug in, or and add on. My feeling is there may be some resetting procedure necessary...but I have no idea how to do that. Again, help to restore Autoscrolling very much appreciated. It worked for years...all I had to do was press the middle mouse button. It could go slow and faster. Now what happens when I press the middle button is that I get my dashboard apps. Hmm.
    Thanks!

  • Firefox v26.o, Google, Mac OS X v10.6.8 - Problem: text is cramped/superimposed on most websites. Any solution?

I am running Firefox v26.0 and using Mac OS X v10.6.8. When I go to most webpages using Google search, more often than not the displayed text is vertically cramped, overlaid or displaced e.g., some lines of text are superimposed over others. Is this a known problem and is there a fix? Thanks!

Hello AppleMac1, try '''disabling graphics hardware acceleration'''. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*On Mac click on the Firefox menu and select Preferences...to access the preferences window.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.
