Is latest version jdeveloper 11g compatiable to oas 10.1.0.2?

if I have to use the jdeveloper 11g, can the applcatioon deploy to oas 10.1.0.2?
thanks first.

Hi,
Its depend on what feature you're using. If you're using ADF Faces Rich Client or the Trinidad bundled with, it forget it as they depend on JSF 1.2 while OAS 10.1.x is not JEE 5 compliant. If you use Trinidad 1.0.x directly from Apache, then it should work.

  • Expected date for Jdeveloper 11g production version

i am planning to start development with jdeveloper (Forms 6i background). but with latest version.
If you can help me out of dates of jdeveloper 11g production release.
it will save my troubleshooting time.
Also help me out some starting point to be successful projects using jdeveloper.
    In forms successful,
    It is so simple.
    1. create table.
    2. use forms wizard (block and layout).
    3. make layout change as per your need.
    4. add buttons and validation.
    5. done.
    But in Jdeveloper.
What is the best practice. ??
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
there will be a technology preview 3 out shortly to christmas. There exist no concrete release date of JDeveloper 11 production.
Start at otn.oracle.com/products/jdev and check some of the tutorials (OBE). Note that for you to learn building JSF web applications, I suggest to use the 10.1.3 tutorials and how-tos.

  • JDeveloper 11g & ADF: supported version of svn server/client question

    Hi all,
I would like to setup a repository for our dev team, we are coming from jdev 10g with svn server 1.3.2 and tortise svn 1.4.8. After reading through John Stegeman's ADF Development Essentials documents, I noticed this article was published back in 2008 and the supported version at that time was 1.4x. What is the current supported svn server and client (i would like to use tortise svn in conjunction with jdev plugin) version for JDeveloper 11g?
    Thanks,
    Wes

    Check out this: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html
    For 11.1.1.4:
    Subversion 1.5, SVNKit 1.2
    Subversion 1.6 2 , SVNKit 1.3 2
    GNU CVS 1.11, CVSNT 2.5

Figured that the problem was because I was using Mozilla Firefox. It works with IE. ( But what about browser neutrality? ;) )

I have windows 8.1. Is the latest version compatiable?

I have win 8.1 and my iTUnes works just fine. Some people have had issues with the update not quite updating all the drivers but that's often solved by uninstalling all apple components via the control panel and reinstalling iTunes as a complete package instead of the update.

  • How to upgrade Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 to latest version

How to upgrade Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 to latest version without installing a new copy of Jdeveloper.
I want to develop mobile applications in ADF but they are not present in 11.1.1.4 version.

    Hi,
building ADF mobile applications requires JDeveloper 11.1.2.3 or (better) 11.1.2.4. However, you don't need to upgrade your existing application as ADF mobile does not leverage e.g. ADF BC. Instead it accesses data through services. So just install 11.1.2.4 of JDeveloper and build your mobile applications

    Hi Frank,
Using subveriosning in Jdeveloper 11g and in the versioning module there exists a topic called "ChangeSet" i.e for Instance doing a modification in one file affecting two or more files in the repository and in this case if we are supposed to Update all the files including the Changing file we can use "Change Set" Concept .But In the Jdeveloper 11g Help Menu, specification about this topic is very less .
Can U Please provide any examples regarding this in Jdeveloper 11g !

  • Is it possible to migrate the app from latest version to older version

    Hi all,
I have a adf application in jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0.Due to some issues i have to do it in jdeveloper 11g release 2 (11.1.1.2.0).Is it possible to migrate the application from latest version to older version of jdev.
    Thanks.

It's not officially supported, but you can try a couple of things - first open the application in the old version and see if it works.
If it doesn't you can try creating a new application in the old version and then use the create project from existing source option to map to your existing code.
This all of course assumes that you didn't use features in the new version that are not available in the old version.

Am I to assume that jdk1.4.x is no longer supported in JDeveloper and that I should start using JDK1.5.x? But apps built with JDK1.5.x are not supported in AppServer 10.1.2.0.2, which is J2EE 1.3 compliant... Does that mean that JDeveloper 11g is suitable only for apps deployed on OAS 10.1.3.x and above? (OAS 10.1.3.x is J2EE 1.4 compliant, and OAS 11g will be J2EE 5.x compliant).
    Comments please.
    Thx!

be on OracleAs 10.1.3 at a minimum<<The problem (for us) with Oracle AS 10.1.3 is that Portal 10.1.4 will not run on it (not certified). We want to take advantage of ADF RC and we hope to be able to produce JSF portlets or "portletized" apps. But at the moment we are "stuck" with 10.1.2.0.2 and JDK 1.4.x/J2EE1.3...
While you can have a 10.1.2 farm and add a 10.1.3 separate instance it is not a clean/complete integration (you can't manage all services from the 10.1.2 farm EM and others; this is what I've seen so far, IMO).
We can't wait for OAS 11g to come out and take a look at that. And I certainly hope that Portal will be certifed on 11g so that we can just jump there.
Another wish: WebCenter functionality in Portal, or Portal/WebCenter rolled out into one.
