Is Lc Designer ES4 a server-based tool only?

Hi - I am working with Lc Designer ES4 and I noticed I cannot PREVIEW PDF (grayed out on view tab). Is this upgrade application only server based and not client based? Is there a client based version like ES2. Maybe I missed making changes to the default settings so I can preview PDF instead of via URL?

Is this a good design -- XI and another EAI tool in the same landscape

Hi All,
I am working in a project wherein the client already has an EAI tool which is based on SOA(Web Services). They are implementing SAP systems in their landscape. They now want to use SAP XI in the landscape for the purpose of integration. They want to integrate their initial EAI tool with XI and have the existing integration with NonSAP systems as it is and integrate SAP systems using XI.
Is this a good design having two EAI tools being used for integration between two systems? What are the various issues that need to be taken into account?

There are lot of points that has to be considered when evaluating the design of EAI landscape. I heard somewhere that even SAP does not recommend to scrap the existing landscape and bring in SAP XI there. I gues dual hub gateway is very common unless it is a fresh implementation becuase changing the existing landscape is re-investing the cost again for the customers.
If you ask me then SAP XI is not yet so robust to handle huge volumes in real time data integration and SAP XI can be used in between for integration to SAP system as it is a SAP system and it works excellent integrating with SAP systems.

in my company we had more or less the same situation 2 years back, a existing BizTalk solution, and whether we should introduce XI or not.
We concluded with the following; BizTalk should be used as the main integration engine between the different system landscapes and ALL external communication, and XI should be used as the integration engine for all data to/from our SAP system landscape. Depending on the integration scenario, we may use both.
BizTalk will not see any SAP systems, only web services exposed by XI or using IBM MQ depending on an async/sync integration scenario.
We believe that XI is better with integration from/to SAP, and;
- In future SAP will deliver out of box integration for the XI system (XI content) for Enterprise Services Architecture
- Several components in the NetWeaver stack are using XI for communication
We have a SAP system landscape with several 46C systems (IS/OIL, HR ...) and newer NetWeaver solutions.
I can give you a brief resume of our experiences my background is ABAP developer since 98, I have implemented a few BizTalk solutions to SAP 46C, and Im a certified XI developer and developed several XI solutions between SAP 46C/640 and BizTalk.

Overall communication between SAP systems and BizTalk depending on the integration scenario and who is the initiator:
SAP 46C to BizTalk:
There are no good mechanisms available for sending data from 46C to BizTalk, we are using HTTP_POST with XML payload. Then you must use the iXML library on the SAP side, its ok, but you will spend, in my point of view, too many hours on XML programming that can be generated automatically.
BizTalk to SAP 46C - Which SAP adapter to use for BizTalk?
We started with SAP adapter from IWay, but that adapter gave us a lot of problems on the BizTalk server (pretty complex adapter with strange behaviour, and several integration scenarios stopped working for no reason at all (unstable)).
Due to several severe problems, we switched to SAP adapter from Microsoft 1 year back in time. If I dont remember wrong, back then, the SAP adapter from Microsoft did not support parameter of type string or table types so there are/were some limitations regarding the signature of the RFC function.
The SAP adapter from Microsoft is more stable than the previous, BUT we have some hick ups with that one as well when BizTalk does very frequent calls to SAP 46C.
SAP 640 to/from BizTalk:
I assume you can use the web service functionality on the SAP side in order to send/receive data, but I dont know whether 640 support asynchronous web service.
XI *****
The communication mechanism between different SAP systems and XI are much better than with BizTalk:
SAP 46C to XI:
Configure a sender communication channel with RFC adapter; basically the XI system will be RFC server so the only thing you have to do is to create a RFC port on the 46C system pointing to the XI system. In the Abap program, you can do normal function calls with destination (RFC port) AND the RFC call will automatically be translated to XML on the XI side.
Thus, you can forget all about the iXML library and XML rendering of the payload to HTTP.
Besides, you can choose to use sRFC, tRFC or even qRFC depending on the integration scenario and whether you want guaranteed delivery.
XI to SAP 46C:
More or less same as BizTalk using a SAP adapter, but string and table types are supported.
SAP 640 to/from XI:
This is a very nice situation, every 640 has a local integration engine, so the main integration engine (XI) can send/receive XML messages both async/sync. Another advantage is using the SPROXY transaction on the 640 system, generating automatically a proxy class being able to send/receive messages based on a message interface defined in XI (outside-in programming).

BizTalk and XI are at a conceptual level identical, two integration engines with the purpose of send/receive, route and do message transformation (mapping) using adapters to different technical systems.
Microsoft has a lot of resources available and for sure, BizTalk will be a very good choice for most companies.
SAP came late with XI, but they are not trying to make the best integration engine, but good enough. And for sure, I think SAP will come with very nice XI content in time (interface mappings between message interfaces business solutions) which is beyond BizTalk.
As an ABAP programmer I just love the transport system between development, quality and production systems. We are using the CMS transport systems between our development XI, quality XI and production XI it is so nice and fast. With BizTalk you have to create a MSI file (installation file which files to include) and somehow transport the file (mail or whatever) to the quality environment for installation really tedious work compared to XI.
So we are using BizTalk 2004 and XI 3.0 and are very happy with both.

Hi Alexis,
The design of server-based monitoring in UCCX 7.0 hasn't changed much since 3.x. The configuration on UCCX is fairly straightforward. You'll want to make sure that desktop monitoring is unchecked for the agent phones in Cisco Desktop Administrator, and you'll want to make sure that the Post-Install tool (C:\Program Files\cisco\desktop\bin\PostInstall.exe) has the 2nd NIC of the server selected for Monitoring/Recording.
What is important for the SPAN setup is that when the RTP packets reach the second NIC of the server (Connected to SPAN destination port) that the MAC address of the phone remains intact). The monitoring/recording service in 7.0 filters the packets by MAC address to determine which RTP packets are part of the conversation. Layer 3 devices can change this MAC address as the packet is routed, so it's important the SPAN configuration picks up the traffic directly from the phone and relays it to the server's second NIC intact.

Problem trying to make a LC Designer ES4 form "Reader Extended" in Acrobat XI Pro

I have a form that I created in LC Designer ES4 that I was able to successfully "Reader Extend" using Acrobat XI Pro. I added a script to the form to allow for the deselecting of radio buttons (which I found on this forum), and now I cannot Reader Extend the form.
Here are the specifics of my environment:
Acrobat XI Pro - Ver. 11.0.10
Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES4 - Ver. 11.0.20130826.2.901444
Windows 7 Professional, SP1
Here's the error I am getting in the Acrobat debugger:
Exception in line 1 of function top_level, script Document-Level:!ADBE::0100_VersChkStrings
InvalidGetError: Get not possible, invalid or unknown. Doc.layout:1:Document-Level:!ADBE::0100_VersChkStrings
This error message appears at the very bottom of the debugger window:
Unable to find source for Document-Level:!ADBE::0100_VersChkStrings
Acrobat XI Pro does not allow me to save the new file, and gives this error:
This document could not be Reader enabled.
I used the chat support for Acrobat XI Pro, and was told that this is a LC Designer issue. Since there's no phone support for LC (at least not free), I came to this forum for help.
Here's the script object (JavaScript) that I inserted into the main subform:

This all works fine when I preview the form from within LC Designer ES4. I then open the dynamic PDF form in Acrobat XI Pro, click File, Save as Other..., Reader Extended PDF, then Enable More Tools.
Acrobat shows the errors at the top of this post within the Acrobat debugger window. When I close debugger, Acrobat does not allow me to save the new file, and gives this error:
    This document could not be Reader enabled.
I've been searching for days and cannot find any resolution to this issue. It appears to me that this is a security related issue, and Acrobat does not like the running of a function within the form. Just a guess. I can't think of anything else.
Anyone come across this issue, and how were you able to fix it?

Although I did not find a cause for the errors, I did find a workaround in my case.
This only happens when running the Javascript Debugger in Acrobat XI Pro. If you turn it off, you can Reader Extend the document. If you turn it on, you have to cycle through all of the debugger errors/warnings using the arrow button in the top left corner of the debugger window, then close that window. Still not sure what the errors are for, but at least I got the form to work.

Uploading pdf files created with LiveCycle Designer ES4

I uploaded some pdf files to my server that were designed with LiveCycle Designer ES4. I can open them directly from the server using my SmartFTP program, however when I
try to download using the URL, I get the following message:
Please wait. . .
If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contenst of teh document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.
You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows . . . .
I have both the latest version of Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro XI installed on the computer.
Any thoughts??

Only if the form has been Reader Enabled before it is sent out to the user with Reader.
There are two ways of Reader Enabling the form. One using Acrobat Standard v9 or Acrobat Professional v8 (both have license restrictions). The other is to use LC Reader Extensions ES2, which is a server product (additional costs).

SSIS: To run a SSIS package outside of SQL Server Data Tools you must install SCR - DP1 Connections of Integration Services or higher

We have SSIS installed on a machine that is not part of a cluster but it is accessible by the cluster.
Our job we have running on the cluster is failing with the following error:
Error: 2014-01-31 09:14:37.52 Code: 0xC000F427 Source: SCR - DP1 Connections
Description: To run a SSIS package outside of SQL Server Data Tools you must install SCR - DP1 Connections of Integration Services or higher. End Error

Integration Services service is not a cluster-aware service, and does not support failover from one cluster node to another. Therefore, in a clustered environment, Integration Services should be installed and started as a stand-alone service on each node
in the cluster.
Based on the error message, it seems that SSIS is not installed on the cluster node on which the job was running. Although SSIS is installed on a machine that is not part of the cluster and can be accessed by each cluster node, the SSIS service installed
on a remote server cannot be used a cluster node. So, please install the shared feature SQL Server Integration Services on each cluster node. Besides, if certain packages need to run in 32-bit mode in certain jobs and the SQL Server installed is 64-bit version,
you also need to install BIDS/SSDT on the cluster node to get the 32-bit runtime of SSIS.

According to the picture, it seems that we can use SSIS 2012 support is not included in SSDT-BI for VS 2013. And based on the previous versions, SSIS always different from SSRS, SSAS.
SSDT-BI for Visual Studio 2012 supports versions of SQL Server as follows:
SSAS project can target SQL 2012 or lower
SSRS project can target SQL 2012 or lower
SSIS project can target only SQL 2012

Non Server Based Html Help

I am using the following call which works perfectly well for
server based HTML help:

However I cannot get this code to work for non-server based

Can anybody offer an explanation?

To create, you would need a copy of Acrobat pro which comes with designer, which allows you to hide show subforms. See designer forum for more info.
You can also use the form fields in acrobat perhaps based on page templates.
The only reason to get a server product with this would be to enable end users of the form to save the pdf using the Free reader. if this is not a requirement (PDF is submitted to a webserver, or simply printed) not sever would be required.

Could you please check if Windows Installer service is running and is in automatic startup mode.
The other thing is, if you’re running an x64-based SQL instance (64-bit), make sure to select “New Instance” on the Installation Type page, and NOT “Add features to an existing instance”.

Can't obtain a query result/show more data on LiveCycle Designer ES4 (Windows 7)

Hi all,
I'm having some problems with LiveCycle Designer ES4 and a database connection.
I have successfully connected my fields to a DataConnection but I only can see the first info of the database.
I want to go through the rest of the data, I've tryied several tutorials (for example commands like xfa.sourceSet.{my Data Connection name}.next), I've tryied several DB types (SQL Server and Access (.mdb and .accdb)), I've tryed in all types of events (click, exit, initialize, and so on) and the result is the same.
I've tryied something so simple like, create a OLEDB connection in Access, bind the fields (4 textfields), create a button with the code "xfa.sourceSet.{my Data Connection name}.next" (like the tutorial at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C56_Cz-aE0c) and nothing.
Differences between the tutorial and me: The version of Designer (Tutorial ES2, mine ES4).
Someone know what it could be? Is there some sample where can I see the code used?

SSDT - SQL Server Data Tools - display issue

In SSDT 2010 SSAS project, Dimension Usage --> Define Relationship window
The display has problem to see everything. In the "Define Relationship" windows, the Relationship section overlap the measure group table display. I can only see upper half the measure group table font.

In your scenario, does this issue occur on only this project or all the projects? In your scenario, please create a sample SSAS project and then check if this issue occurs on the new project or not?
If this issue occurs on only this project, then the issue is related to your cube structure, please to restart SSDT to check if this issue persists or not. If the issue persists, please provide us more information about your cube settings.

Do we have a built-in option for web based tool in Nexus 5548UP switches for management purpose?

I have purchased Nexus 5548UP switch, i want to know if we have a built-in option for web based tool to manage and configur it just as ASA have ASDM. If there is no such options then what are the options available that can be freely available and can be used to get performance monitoring done.

DCNM (Data Center Network Manager) runs on a server (Windows, RHEL or Solaris) and can be used to manage Nexus devices. It's free for Nexus 1K through 5K devices (paid license required for Nexus 7K management).

Some comments to what I read:
I noticed that you use the term 'server virtualization' (section 3.3.1) quite generally. Maybe it would be worth introducing the term 'server consolidation' (which you use later in the document) already in this early chapter. My experience shows that (especially recently) a lot of customers are interested in 'virtual servers' (meaning a virtual server with an OS installed separately), not really knowing what they're talking about and often better advised to use 'server consolidation' (one OS, many SIDs). These two concepts are similar in terms of sharing hardware resources, but quite different in terms of the implications toward administration.
In section 4.2.1.3 you mention (in brackets) the Usage type to which the client belongs for the Business Explorer and the J2SE Adapter Engine if I understood that correctly. There is no UT mentioned for the other clients and there is no explanation on what the bits in brackets are supposed to mean. (I first expected the 'BeX' abbreviation when I saw something in brackets...)

Referencing a "locally installed" Java applet from a server-based HTML page

How does one reference a "locally installed" Java applet from a server-based HTML page (i.e. via the applet, object, or embed tags)? I have seen references in documentation that this is possible, but I have not seen any examples. I have tried a few things, but nothing seems to be working.
Some background...
I'm working on a web site that aggregates Internet video. For many users, I would like the site to work "without" requiring Java to be installed (or any prompts, etc.). This version of the site allows users to stream videos directly over the Internet and does not require any sort of access to the local system.
However, in addition, I have a download manager that can be installed on the local system. Currently, it's a Windows-based "service" that is always running in the background, downloading files, etc. (with plans to later support other OSes).
My dilemma is trying to communicate between my web site running in the local browser (executing JavaScript code) and the download manager. I call this component the "gateway". I need the gateway to be able to do the following:
1) Pass user credentials from the web browser UI to the download manager (so it can communicate with my servers).
2) Check the status of downloaded videos
3) Launch a local media player (such as Windows Media, QuickTime, etc.) (or perhaps tell the download manager to launch the media player).
Under Windows XP, I have an ActiveX control that can do these things. It communicates with the download manager via reading/writing to a shared XML configuration file.
Unfortunately, under Vista and IE7 Protected Mode, ActiveX controls have become very restricted and my gateway no longer works. As such, I am looking at using Java for the gateway (also giving me the additional benefits of supporting additional browsers and OSes).
From my understanding, I believe I can created a "face-less" Java applet, whose methods can be called from JavaScript. Ideally, I'm thinking I could install the applet onto the local system at the same time the download manager is installed. This would give the applet the security permissions it needs to communicate with the download manager.

a seperate directory and create an alias like /applets "path" in the plsql.conf file.

Creating server based folder on mac/me IMAP- Problem!!!

I'm having a problem creating an IMAP server based folder to sync with my iphone.
I can create one for my personal domain email account, which, when sync via itunes appears in my mail app on the iphone.
But when I try to create one for my .mac/.me account, it does not appear in my Mail app on my computer, let alone on my iphone.
I click the '+' at the bottom of the left hand pane, click 'new mailbox' and then using location 'mac', with the nice picture of the cloud, enter the name I'd like it to have.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or do I have a bug?
