Is Leopard compatible with 1 GHz Aluminum 17" PowerBooks?

Hi I want to use leopard my old friend 1 GHz Aluminum 17" PowerBooks.. is it possible or not?

I am traumatized by this installation! I have a purchased copy of Leopard. I successfully installed the software one time. The system would freeze whenever on youtube, playing DVDs or just using iTunes. The audio would stick in a shriek of whatever the last sound that played! I decided to reinstall the OS. I archived my data manually, erased the drive and reinstalled the OS. However, now when I perform the installation the machine gets about 1/3 of the way done and either freezes or gives the BIG yellow exclamation error indicating that the installation has failed due to an error in the source media and that I need to contact the manufacturer or use a different copy of the disk? Ugh! Help? Thnx in advance

Just thought I'd ask if snow leopard is compatible with IK multimedia's miroslav philharmonik orchestral library?

You should be asking the producer.

  • Is snow leopard compatible with ipad mini?

Hello I need to know if snow leapard is compatible with the ipad mini

In that case, I suppose that you were asking if you can sync your device. The iPad mini requires iTunes 10.7 or later, version that Snow Leopard supports, so you can sync the iPad. Open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version. Also, make sure you are running iTunes 10.7 or the most recent iTunes 11

  • Leopard compatible with GoLive CS2?

Hello! is my Mac OSX Leopard (version 10.5.4) compatible with Adobe GoLive CS2 8.0? Thanks so much!

I'm currently running GL 8.0.1 on an intel, macpro running OS 10.5.5 and with some minor issues it runs as it should. One thing to watch for is that it does quit at random times (sometimes simply cutting text), and when it quits it brings down the whole system and the mac restarts. So save often, not just in GL but any other files that are open at the same time. Enjoy!

  • Leopard Compatible with M$ Office 2004 ?

Does anyone know if Microsoft Office 2004 will be compatible with Leopard?

Would have thought so - Office compatible with Leopard you mean
Office 2004 is a Power PC app so it runs under Rosetta - so that will translate between Office and Leopard anyway.
    Best of luck

  • Is snow leopard compatible with microsoft office and with quicken 2007?

Is snow leopard 10.6.3 compatible with Microsoft office and with quicken 2007.  I am about to upgrade to snow leopard and wanted to see if there are any problems with interfacing with non apple applications.  Any help is appreciated.

Yes. Snow Leopard includes Rosetta, which will allow Office 2004 and Quicken 2007 to run. Office 2008 and 2011 are Intel native and will also run under SL.

  • Is OS X v 10.6 Snow Leopard compatible with the newest xcode?

I am looking to buy my friends mac that has snow leopard on it. I plan on using the computer just for coding on xcode. Does anyone know if it is compatible the newest xcode?
    Thanks

If the Mac is 10.10 compatible, you can setup a separate partition with 10.10 on it, keeping the 10.6.8 partition.  Note other compatibility issues migrating between the two:

  • Is Snow Leopard compatible with Canon camera software?

Since I loaded Snow Leo some time ago, now the Canon Camera Window software gives me 'failed to initialize program', so that I can't download pics from the PowerShot A1000 IS. With Leopard, it worked the first time and fine. I have upgraded from the Canon site, done the TS suggested by Canon, to no avail. They say no drivers needed. Help! Thank you! Mark

Wow, you have no idea how helpful this answer is! After my upgrade to SnowJob, my Canon camera software wouldn't work. This in and of itself was not a problem, since I don't want any "help" with downloading, viewing, and organizing my photos. All I wanted to do was get them from the camera to the system, which is exactly what Image Capture does. Thanks!!!!

  • Is Leopard compatible with A1150 Macbook Pro

Hello, Mac users! I currently have a MacBook Pro 15'': model A1150. I bought it off a friend without the install/restore discs and a blinking question mark inside a folder appears when I turn it on. Which OS should I install on my Macbook Pro: Leopard or SnowLeopard?

Start by calling 1800 275 2273 (1 800 APL CARE).  Gibe the serial number, they can send you copies of the original install disks for a nminal shipping fee.  Even if those disks are Loepard and you want to go to Now Leopard (buy this disk to do that: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A), having the original disk with the AHT (Apple Hardware Test) is a good idea.
I bought the retail DVD to upgrade my parents' macmini and it installed just fine.  But I was just upgrading Leopard to Snow Leopard so all other Apple software was already installed.
Opps ... sorry about that phone number.

  • Is Leopard compatible with certain 3d party software?

I intend to switch over to Leopard soon. Does anybody know whether programs such as Norton Antivirus or Allume's Internet Cleanup which I am currently using with Tiger are also working with Leopard? If not, are there alternative programs?
Thanks in advance folks for replying.

I currently have NAV10 on a MacBook Pro running Tiger. It has a few problems: first, it's a PowerPC application -- they don't have an Intel or universal version yet. The LiveUpdate feature appears to be broken - no downloading of virus definition updates. When NAV kicks in, it can rather severely impact the performance of your machine, and sometimes the AV process doesn't close a file or directory on a mounted volume and renders it impossible to eject the volume.
I haven't checked, but I'm willing to bet that you get the same type of superlative performance under Leopard that you get under Tiger (e.g., it's not worth the bother).

  • Macbook with Snow Leopard compatible with After Affects CS3 or CS4???

I have a white Macbook(2006)2GHz Intel Core Duo with 2GB of ram, my graphic card is a Intel GMA 950, and I have Snow Leopard 10.6.4. After Effects CS5 will not run on my computer because it says it will run only on a 64 bit system.
So my question is with the description of my laptop above will After Effects CS3 or CS4 work on my macbook?
    Thanks!

Best to ask this question in the Adobe forums.
    Good luck.

  • IS leopard compatible with G4?

    Thank you

    Thank you
If that speed is original (not from a hardware addon) and you have at least 512 MB of RAM and all the hardware is working perfectly, then yes.
However the minimum requirement will not result in good performance and will probably be slower than Tiger for any apps that use a lot of memory.
The usual suggestion is to upgrade RAM to the max, but be careful - Leopard is "fussy" about RAM and unless it all meets the OEM (Apple) specs, you may have problems installing.

  • Leopard compatible with Verizon Smart Card?

I am new at all this, but when I am trying to install Leopard on my MacBook Pro and I am on the set up assistant, it is asking what internet connection I have. I use the Verizon Smart Card and that isn't one of the options to choose. Am I still able to install it?

    Yes, it is.
