Is Lightroom Part of Photoshop CS6

Are all the features in Lightroom included in Photoshop CS6 Extended, or would Lr add to CS6?

Lightroom is a standalone application.
The Adobe Camera Raw plugin included in Photoshop CS6, is pretty much
similar to Lightroom's Develop module. Apart from that, you won't find
features such as Library, Maps or Book modules in Photoshop.

  • Problems opening multiple images as layers from Lightroom 4 to Photoshop CS6

I'm having trouble bringing multiple photos from Lightroom 4 into Photoshop CS6 as layers. In LR4, I select the multiple photos I want to bring in, right click and from the pop-up menu select "Edit In", then "Open as Layers In Photoshop...". Photoshop CS6 then opens but the photos do not load in. I then get an error in LR4 about a minute later that says "The files could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS6 could not be launched." However Photoshop just opened before I got the error. How do I fix this?

Maybe a keyboard issue - shortcut key toggling multiple times. But, if you're sure your keyboard is fine, then try this:
Reset LR preferences:Windows 7/ Vista: The preference setting file is Lightroom 4 Preferences.agprefs, in C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\. Rename/ move this file to a different location. LR will recreate preferences during next launch. See if this fixes the issue. The reason we're renaming or moving it is so that if it doesn't fix the error, you can move it back there so you don't have to recreate your in-application preferences again

  • Re-installing Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6

I intend to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit, which apparently means a clean install. Can I back up both Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 for re-installation or will I have to make a fresh install from the discs. Furthermore CS6 was an upgrade to CS4 so will I also have to reinstall CS4. Will I need to deactivate or can I save the activation details?

Lightroom: No activation required so you can just reinstall. Download the latest 4.x release and install it rather than from your disk and upgrading - it is just cleaner.
PS, you need to deactivate on the existing machine. Install CS6 upgrade first and when prompted provide your CS4 information. Then activate on the new machine.

  • Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS6 problem when editing

    Hi,
I have just upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and now when I 'edit in Photoshop CS6' from lightroom and save it, the image doesn't appear next to the original RAW file as it did before. Now lightroom creates its own folder with the edited files in.
For example, I edited a RAW file from a folder called Bissoe valley from Lightroom and saved it. When I go back to Lightroom the edited image is not next to the original file but in a seperate folder called 'Bissoe valley'. I then try to drag the edited image back into the original 'Bissoe valley folder with the original RAW file and it says 'the file already exists at the destination'
I appologise if this has already been asked. I'm guessing I need to buy Lightroom 4 because of incompatibility issues? It wouldn't surprise me if this is the case.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Victoria....you are a legend!
You can see here lightroom has created folders identically named to the folder which the original files belong to (coco, Harriet, Bissoe and independent assignment)
The really confusing part is that when I look in the original folder outside of Lightroom, the saved Tiff image is there next to the original.
I think I will try uninstalling ps cs6 and go back to cs5 to see if it solves the problem and take it from there....

  • Help needed exporting from Lightroom 4 to Photoshop CS6

I'm running LR 4.4 and Photoshop CS6 on an iMAC and I'm having issues with the edit in photoshop option.  Used to be able to right click and image, go to Edit In and choose Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop would open and the image would open.  I could then make my changes and save them and those changes would copy back over to Lightroom.  Now when I choose Edit In>Photoshop, Photoshop opens but the image never opens.  It would prompt saying Open Anyway or Render using Lightroom.  If I clicked Open Anyway, the image would NOT open in Photoshop.  If I clicked Render using Lightroom, the image WOULD open in Photoshop.  Well now I've upgraded my software and it's no longer prompting me to Render using Lightroom.  Can someone help either fix the root probelm or tell me how to get my raw files to Render using Lightroom?

Same problem here on the PC side.

  • May i send photo from lightroom v4 to photoshop cs6 and open in camera raw?

    Hi
i have lightroom v4 last version 64 and photoshop cs6 64 last updates
i would like to send raw file from lightroom to photoshop without converting in psd or tiff but i would like to send from lightoom to photoshop the raw file
in short open the image in camera raw from lightroom
    can  i do it?
    thanks

Lightroom is Camera Raw. They're exactly the same code, provided versions are in step. Lr 4.4 = ACR 7.4.
"Edit In Photoshop" (Ctrl E) opens the image in Photoshop, just as "Open" does in ACR. And even though you open it from Lightroom, it's actually ACR that silently renders it into Photoshop. Lightroom just passes on its settings.
"Open As Smart Object" embeds the raw file into the PSD, so that you can reopen it in ACR, from Photoshop. Same function as you have in ACR to begin with.
If Lightroom and ACR versions are not in step, things get more complicated and some options are missing.

  • Lightroom 4 to Photoshop CS6 Not Converting to Tiff

Not sure this is the correct forum, however this did not occur with LR4 and Photoshop 5.  When selecting "Edit In Photoshop CS6" from LR4, the .nef image imports directly into PS without converting to .tif and opening Camera Raw.  As I said, in CS5, the image always converted to a .tif file and opened CR.

  • I talked with Adobe Yesterday about removing Elements from my Mac, if there were any concerns with Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6

The answered no, that all I needed to do with Elements was to drag it to the Trash. I did that. Now in Lightroom 5 do I not see Photoshop in the EDIT IN menu, all my plug-is are missing as well! Ive found two papers on the subject, one for both programs where they say to find the Lightroom fine "com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist" and a similar Photoshop fine in >user>Library>Preferences. Neither exist on my mac! Im in a process of a system search to make sure, but so far, no good!
I'm looking for a fix, PLEASE. To stop and delete both programs, reinstall this and ALL the plug-in's isn't something I want to contemplate if I don't have to!

Sorry Keith, I didn't look at it as a duplicate post since I initually approached it as a Photoshop issue and have since come to see it as a lightroom issue. I've subedquently found the photoshop preference file, deleted it and restarted Photoshop which recreated that file. That didn't help.
SInce my initial concern was with Photoshop I failed to notice than none of the Lightroom plug ins were showing up. Researching that fix, what I found was essentially the same as with Photishop except the Lightroom preference file. Now I'm not finding that file but I'm doing a full system search.
Some caveats to all of this are, the photoshop and Lightroom plug ins are the same. Theyre resident and run in CS6. Additionally in Lightroom if I go to preferances> external edit, I see photoshop and all the plug ins listed there.

  • Problem exporting from Lightroom 4 to Photoshop CS6

When using the ctr E keyboard shortcut to edit in PS6 frpm LR4, multiple raw files are generated in PS CS6 and only stop creating when PS is forced closed.  Using the Drop Down menu in LR makes the transfer to PS6 no problem. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Verbindung Lightroom 5.6 - Photoshop CS6

... in Adobe Photoshop bearbeiten.. (nach "entwickeln" im Lightroom weiter bearbeiten) funktioniert nicht.

  • Plugins and Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 beta

Yesterday I downloaded the CS6 beta of Photoshop. I then quickly uninstalled it because:
None of my plugins showed up in CS6
Lightroom 4 would only permit editing in CS6, nor CS5.
In other words, CS6 stalled my normal workflow and I couldn't see a way to fix it. So I didn't get any time to play with the beta. Is this what I should have expected with the beta? Or can I re-install and change some settings to permit Lightroom to use both or either CS5 and CS6 as external editors and to access my plugins from CS6? If that's possible, how do I do it? The new Photoshop has features I want to use but I need my plugins and Lightroom external editing connection to keep working.
    Thanks, Don

I just sucessfully integrated Topaz Adjust 5.0 by following the steps (for Windows) listed here:  http://topazlabs.com/support/kb/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=342
    3. If you are still unable to access Topaz after doing the steps above then please do the following:
Go to your preferences menu in Photoshop and select Plug-ins. Check / enable the Additional Plug-ins Folder option then click Choose. After that, please navigate to:
    For Mac :
Macintosh HD -> Library -> Application Support -> Topaz Labs -> Adjust -> Plug-ins and select the Adjust plug-in.
    For Windows:
    C: \ Program Files \ Topaz Labs \ Adjust \ Plug-ins and select the Adjust plug-in.
Then click save / OK to save this back to Photoshop. Back in Photoshop click OK to save your changes, then restart Photoshop. Once Photoshop opens, go to your Filter menu and you should be able to access Topaz.
Edit:    It seems that you can only add one additional plug-in folder using this method.   I may go back and try the other tips on that support page.

  • Colour shift when exporting from lightroom 5 into Photoshop CS6

    Hi there,
Having a really weird problem in Lightroom/Photoshop that no amount of Googling can seem to fix.
When I grade an image for colour in lightroom, and then use the "edit in" function to send the file to Photoshop, the file is a completely different colour.
    Here's an example:
I'm using SRGB for both Lightroom and Photoshop, and the "preserve embedded profiles" is selected for RGB, CMYK, and gray.
If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be great. I don't want to have to use ProPhotoRGB, because most of my work is delivered online.
    Thanks in advance
    John

I am also having this issue with the "Merge to HDR Pro" function in both LR5.2 and PSCC. When the image is viewed at 50% image size in the HDR app everything appears fine. However, once you start to zoom in the image begins to crop out segements starting on the right hand side. See the screen shots below:
    Image at 50%
    Image at 66%
    Image at 100%

  • Is Lightroom part of Photoshop CC

    Hi!
I wonder, if I get also Lightroom (+Updates), if I subscribe Photoshop CC and pay the 24,59€ per month (Single Product Subscription)
Or have I pay additional 200 € to buy Lightroom 5?
I'm not talking about this new special offer for 12.99 € per month. That is a bundle of Lightroom and Photoshop, I know.
    Thanks a lot!
    Best Regards

    Okay. Thanks a lot.
So for the 25 € per month you get only Photoshop CC (+ Bridge).
Und for the 13 € per month you get Photoshop CC (+ Bridge) and Lightroom 5.

  • What tech specs are good for adobe lightroom 5 and photoshop cs6?

I was planning to change my laptop to a better one as the lightroom and cs6 have been running very slowly recently. It might due to the aging of my laptop.
I wanted to change one good one for the both programs that i mentioned above. please advise. Thank you.

Since the RAM on the Retina model can't be upgraded by the user, I would go with the full 16GB.
I would also look at the 512GB flash storage option - you don't want to lug around an external drive.
    Just my 2¢...

  • Editing problem from Lightroom 4 to Photoshop CS6

Lightroom 4 no longer automatically imports Photoshop edits, even though my preferences haven't changed.  I have to re-import the edited photo to LR. Any fixes?

There are two ways that LR can pass images to PS:
already saved, in which case the document already has its final title when you work on it in PS, and changes need to be Saved back to the same pre-existing file (in order to be seen by LR as an update to something which it has already imported). In this case, Save As to some different filename will be invisible to LR; however, LR should still show the un-edited image TIFF (or PSD) which has been generated for PS to open.
not yet saved, in which case the document which is open in PS does not yet have its final title; so Save cannot work; so PS automatically brings up Save As instead (although a default filename and location are suggested for you). PS should normally inform LR of whatever filenams and folder is then selected, so that LR can silently import that. Or if the image is not saved at all, LR will not have anything to show for this..
Which method is used, depends on the circumstance. Normally the latter method applies when LR and Photoshop are of contemporary versions, which "talk" to each other in a scripted manner. However it seems that in this case the script is not succeeding for some reason.
A couple of troubleshooting tests to try: saving the image to the default offered filename without any change; making an external editing preset in LR's preferences, and using that (which passes images to PS via the "already-saved" method instead).
