Is Lion compatible with HP  Laserjet 5000 printer

Before I upgrade to Lion, does anyone know if its compatible with a HP Laserjet 5000 n? I went into HP's support and there are no drivers
available that support Lion.

LaserJet 5000 series drivers are included with OS X 10.7, according to this list:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP
so yes, it should be compatible.
Regards.

Is Mt. Lion compatible with Final Cut Pro 7 and FCS 3? Will these programs still run or will they be not supported by the new OS as has been the case with past apps when a new OS is introduced?
    Thanks,

I have a 2gig HD for backing up my system HD . The backup HD is partitioned into 20 - 1 gig partitions. I use the Carbon Copy Cloner app to make a clone copy of the system HD. Never had a problem. If I need to I can boot from one of the clone partition or copy file from.
(Just make sure your FPC media and video files are on a external HD (firewire for example) other than a USB 2 HD. FCP does't work properly with USB 2 drives.)

  • Is lion compatible with CS4 and C1Pro

Just wondering if  Lion compatible with Photoshop CS4 and Capture 1 pro 6.2.x?

all Adobe products have more or less issues in Lion. The only one 99% compatible is CS5.x, the latest.
Everything before CS3 will not even run, because it is PowerPC and Lion does not run PPC apps anymore. CS3 and above are Intel compatible. CS5 introduced first 64bit support on Intels ( Lion is fully 64bit )
Adobe has a Website with issues on Lion : http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/905/cpsid_90508.html
Your other product I do not know, sorry.

  • Is mountain lion compatible with snow leopard?

is mountain lion compatible with snow leopard? can you use the same version of iTunes

VMware and Toaster can be upgraded to versions that will run on Mountain Lion.
I was not able to find anything on PalmPilot for Mountain Lion. Of course seeing as how it is at least 15 years old that doesn't surprise me.
As I see you want to run two operating systems which means rebooting to use them just for PalmPilot. IMHO that is a lot of effort on your part for a very small gain.

  • Is OSX lion compatible with microsoft office for mac 2008

Can anybody out there please give me a definitive answer to this question: Is OSX Lion compatible with Microsoft Office for Mac 2008? The technical support people of both Apple and Microsoft could not provide me wth a useful answer to a question that must interest hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions. I don't want to download the new OS and then encounter nasty problems.

Yes. The only problem you could face, is if you want to reinstall MS Office 2008 on Lion - this is not possible, because the installer runs on Rosetta, which is no longer supported in Lion. But if you already have Office installed, there should be absolutely no problems.

  • Is there any driver for an HP Laserjet 5000 printer that will work with OS 10.10.2?

I have an older laserjet printer and since updating to OS 10.10.2 I cannot print. I have been on with HP, and they no longer support this printer, and the latest driver is compatible with OS 10.6. Does anyone know a way to get around this? I really cannot go out and buy another printer, this one is great.
    Thanks

Mention you're using a Mac and HP will give up pretty easily. It doesn't matter whether the printer is new or old.
Since the driver you have been using no longer works, did you try OS X's generic PostScript printer driver?
I agree old HP printers are built well and last forever, and no one likes keeping perfectly good printers in service more than I do, but are you absolutely certain a new printer is out of the question? Faster and much more capable laser printers than the LaserJet 5000 are readily available today for less than $100. HP doesn't make them.
Even finding a replacement your toner cartridge for yours must be getting difficult. The street price for that toner cartridge is about $150. HP's list price is well over $200.

  • Can not Print with HP LaserJet 5000 and Epson AcuLaser C9100

I am using MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 with Mac OS X (10.6.6)
I already install the latest print driver from the Apple Software Update website.
The driver for HP is Ver. 17.5 & for Epson is Ver. 5.2
I connect two of the printer to my Belkin Surf N300 wireless N Router with ethernet cable.
The error when print to HP LaserJet 5000 is as follow:-
Unable to get printer status (Not Implemented)!
Network host 'x.x.x.x' is busy; will retry in 30 seconds...
This error can stay forever if I do not delete the print job
The error when print to Epson AcuLaser C9100 is as follow:-
    Printer not responding
This error can stay forever if I do not delete the print job
Previously I can print with my emac with OS X 10.4.10, but now I can not print with 2 of my printer.
My 2 printer are in good condition, so this is not the printer problem.
Please, do anyone know how to fix this problem fast, because I need to use this two printer for my business.
    Thanks in advance.

That is not what Greg needs to know. That is just the way that the IP addresses are assigned to the printers.
Your problem is probably that the printers were probably originally found by AppleTalk. AppleTalk is not included in Snow Leopard. If the printers support Bonjour, they should be found that way. Otherwise, you have to use other methods.
How did you add your printers on the new computer? If you delete them from Print & Fax, how would you add them again?

  • Leopard printing problems with HP Laserjet 5000

Hi to anyone who might be able to help.
I've just installed Leopard, and now my HP 5000 Laserjet (hooked up via ethernet) will not print. When I print, the computer says it is printing, but the printer never prints anything, and even though the printer shows up in the print window, the computer never actually finds the printer. I have downloaded the latest driver from the HP web site, which hasn't helped at all....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Angus

    Hi Gus1,
Since it's hooked up via Ethernet, I assume then it's a 5000N? We have one of those and it works just fine in Leopard. So there must be something wrong in your setup. Two things you can try.
    1) It's an old, kind of slow protocol, but it works. Turn on AppleTalk. It's in the System Preferences under the Network tab. Choose "Ethernet" in the left pane. Click the "Advanced" button. Click on the AppleTalk tab and turn on the check box for "Make AppleTalk Active". Choose "Print & Fax" in the System Preferences and remove any entries for the 5000. Click the Add button and then the Default button. The 5000 should show up and show AppleTalk as its connection. Choose it and click Add.
    2) On the printer. Press the Menu button to the right once so the display reads, "Information Menu". Press the Item button twice to the right so the display reads, "Print Configuration". Press the Select button. The printer will kick out two sheets. On the first page under the "Printer Information" heading is the IP address for your printer. It's the second entry from the bottom labeled, "HP JetSend Address: ip: 192.168.5.6 (your actual address will of course be different).
In the "Print & Fax" heading of the System Preferences, remove any entries for the 5000. Click the Add button and then the IP button. Under the Protocol pull down menu, choose "HP Jet Direct - Socket". Under "Address:", enter the IP address on your printout, like my example of 192.168.5.6. Under "Name:", put in something meaningful, like "HP LaserJet 5000N". Assuming you have the PPD installed, then under "Print Using:' choose "HP LaserJet 5000 Series". Click the Add button.

  • Download to make Mountain Lion compatible with Canon iX 6520

Would like Canon webpage when I can make my Canon iX6520 printer compatible with my Macbook Pro OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 operating system.

    Hi,
I downloaded the driver from http://www.canon.ca/inetCA/serviceDetail?m=load&id=3&sid=15&mid=2200841&type=S
Anything else you need should be at the Canon site also. After I did the install, I did the head alignment fron the apple preferences menu. I've printed several photos and they look fine.

  • HP 802 Black ink cartridge not compatible with HP Deskjet 1050 Printer - J410a [Model: CH346A].

I am Sharjil Ahmed from Kolkata, India, and had bought theHP Deskjet 1050 All-in-One Printer - J410a [Product Model: CH346A] from an online shopping website www.crazeal.com on 18 December, 2011, where the product information consisted that I will be provided HP 62 small black ink cartridge HP 62 small tri-color ink cartridge along with the product. • Que:  Lion upgrade -now HP Laserjet 1200 printer won't work.

Que:  Lion and now my HP Laserjet 1200 printer won't work.  I've downloaded the appropriate driver from the Apple site and it's not on HP's list of printers that won't work with Lion - any other suggestions?

My Laserjet 1200 works under Lion, so it is possible. I don't recall loading any special drivers for it to work, and HP doesn't have any Lion-specific drivers available.  In System Preferences, under Print and Scan, did you add the HP Laserjet 1200?

  • Is Boot Camp 4.0 (OSX Lion) compatible with a 2006 iMac?

Just made a clean install of OSX Lion and am trying to install Windows XP using Boot Camp. When I try to download Windows Support Software I get, "Can't install Windows Support Software because it is not currently available from the Software Update".
Is Boot Camp 4.0 not compatible with my 2006 (White) iMac? If not, can I install an older version of Boot Camp, is there another workaround or do I have to return to Snow Leopard?

Lion's Boot Camp Assistant will download Boot Camp 4, which does not support Windows XP.
Assuming your Mac came with Leopard, you will instead use the Boot Camp drivers from the disk that came with your Mac.  Partition your disk using the Boot Camp Assistant or whatever partitioning utility you want.  Insert the Windows disk and reboot while holding down the Option key, then select the Windows disk.  Install Windows XP as normal.  When Windows install is finished, insert the OSX disk that came with your Mac and install the Boot Camp drivers.
